Cats went on to win the next 14. Lost tom Port 1n round 21 when Cassisi kicked a goal on the siren. Got our revenge in the GF though..... What a season.
I'm a North fan and I love that season. You guys were godly. Even though we got flogged in the prelim to Port, I reckon we would've put up at least somewhat of a fight against ya. Glad you destroyed Port. Was brilliant to watch.

They had an amazing number of star players in the one team. If anything they under achieved by only winning three premierships. They probably should’ve won 5.
I reckon Collingwood deserved the 2010 premiership but I'm still shocked they lost 2008. Probably the best season they had out of those five years yet they couldn't seal it.
We were the only team apart from Collingwood who beat them to give them problems that year. Only beat us by 2 goals in round 17 that year and we went into the GF after back to Smashings of the opposition in better form. They should have been 4 goals up at least at half time but after that we ambushed them. Most of their fans still haven't got over it.
I realise that with every great team they have atleast one grand final loss. Essendon in 01, Brisbane 04, port 07, Geelong 08, Collingwood 11, hawthorn 12. Richmond are the only team who didn't have that this century.
Can't wait for the same to happen to Geelong. Most of you handbagger idiots seem to forget that Geelong had a 44 year period of no flags and being mediocre at best

I saw my first AFL games the weekend after this (including the Geelong v West Coast game mentioned), on a trip to Australia. I kept an interest in the game, and had to pick a team. I felt picking Geelong would be gloryhunting, and picking Collingwood, who I'd nominally supported in a great game the previous day, would be like choosing Man Utd. I opted for Richmond, partly because they were almost comically bad at times. I had a good few years wondering why I'd not thought about it more, but things have certainly changed now.

Talk about a ridiculously one sided one match. The Tigers were absolutely awful in every sense of the term back then and Terry Wallace (the Coach at the time) somehow made them even worse. Should have been fired there and then. How he lasted as long he did when the late Danny Frawley who was a significantly much better Coach and fit for that club wasn't allowed to completely blows my mind.
