I cannot wrap my mind around the bravery that it took Rich Eisen to go on the air, and not only announce the passing of his dear friend and colleague, but on international television to say things like, "I loved this man... I still love this man." That is beautiful in a way that words can't adequately express, and indicative of the impact that he had on everybody he touched in his time on his Earth.
nothing hits harder than Rich Eisen. dude did the impossible. the unthinkable. he announced to the world that one of his closest friends died. And did it with class and dignity. You can’t write it better than he said it. 🙏
As a 20 something year old in the 90s I looked forward to every episode with Stu. "Must be JAM 'cause jelly don't shake like that!" Was one of my favorites.
I remember when I first heard and seen Stuart Scott on SportsCenter and he was saying, "HOLLER!!" and "BOOYAH!!" and I remember saying to myself and others that he wouldn't be on TV long because he's a black man speaking how we speak in the streets or at home. I didn't think ESPN would allow him to continue, maybe they would tell him to scale it back a bit or whatever but I'm SO glad they didn't because I tuned in EVERY NIGHT to see and hear him say those things. He changed the game and now its a whole lot of Stuart wannabes out there but he is the undisputed king of "hip-hop" sports commentary. WE LOVE YOU STUART and WE MISS YOU!! Rest in Peace.
Went to the same barbershop in Raleigh where he went! Authentically, an icon, an original enthusiast of the science of smiling and the art of athletics! Shout of to the Barbershop and the ESPN FOLKS.
So glad I ran into this memorial series. I had forgotten his passing - I cried as I was reminded. I Loved his style and the energy he brought to what he did. He was one of the truly great one. RIP
Miss you still STU!!! I just woke up flipped the pillow over the the cool side and thought of you. I grew up watching him in my elementary middle school and high school days 2023 and you are still missed!!!
SS was a game changer. He was authentic. He brought his sense of humor to all sports and could make me laugh when I didn’t feel like laughing. Pookie and Ray-Ray are so proud.
I can recall waking up that morning turning on the TV I immediately has to get my sports in it was the only reason I got cable to watch ESPN. I turn on the TV to ESPN and I remember they said Stuart Scott my Fraternity Bruh has passed away my whole day was cloudy. ESPN hasn't been the same......RIP TEAM RQQ!!! RQQ!!!
Once in a while in life someone comes alone who is doing exactly what they are suppose to be doing ..but do it with such distinction that they. Create there own character by doing it there way...Stuart Scott RIP..
It's 2021 and this hits just like it did when he passed. This guy is deeply missed. As cool as the other side of the pillow... that'll never get old. 🙏
I grew up watching Stu, informing me on the latest highlights. He was top notch and def one of my most favorite sports announcers. He will be missed. RIP stu.
Love is not Love until you give it away is what my Mom, Queen Betty Booth says! This MAN gave LOVEto all! That's why we keep coming back to view what has peers had/has to say about him! I didn't know him personally but I made sure I would watch him and Eisen from 6a.m. to 1p.m., daily! A person is only dead when you stop talking about them, so make your life count! Blessings
😪 stuart scoot and sc and and the hip hope style is "stu scoot espn" love that man god bless u sir boo ya " cooler the other side the pillow " haVEN gaIned a angel
We all miss you Stu!! You inspired so many people and gave hope and encouragement to so many people around the world. You was an amazing person and your legacy will last forever!
Stuart Scott will be missed... been all these years later I still miss hearing “ cooler than the other side of the pillow” espn was never the same once he passed...
It’s crazy to think he was born a year after my mom and he died a year after she passed... I never knew this man but even then I can say he made an impact on me... two losses back to back indeed... although it’s years ago it still hurts... sometimes your heroes lose their lives but their memory lives forever 💯
It's Heartbreaking for all of us who remember him for his catchphrases and his name was Stuart Scott and he was terrific at anything but I think he's gone not forgotten either and I can't imagine what the world will do with out him around here on the planet earth
Stu was cool as the other side of the pillow. 6yrs later and this still hurts. A lot of people didn't turn to SC just to watch the sports highlights. Stu was SC
David Hinton I was looking in the comments for someone else who caught that, I dunno why but it pissed me off when I seen that. Still wouldn’t dislike this vid just because of Stu though. Have a great day man
Damn. I would absolutely LOVE to have heard him call Tatis Jr highlights. Would've loved to hear him call Cardinals/Padres game 2 highlights. Lots of BOOYAH!!!!
the crazy thing about that speech he gave at the ESPY's ... less than 6 months before he died ... was that it basically shouldn't have happened. He literally had just been released from the hospital, and flew cross-country to get that award. I'm convinced he KNEW how little time he had left and went despite doctor's orders.

I can't imagine being the producer or director who had to tell him. Rich and Stuart were one of the most amazing teams on SportsCenter

I watched Rich Eisen's tribute live. I wept.
RIP Stew.
😢😢
How u getting ads with 8 subs??? And u spelled Stuart wrong
😢😢😢😢
Stuart not Stewart, great tribute but edit his name please.
I second that motion.
You spelled his name wrong?? Really??
If your going to do a tribute video at least spell the guys name right.
Who the hell could dis like this ???
So 😥
Great tribute, but the very beginning needs to be fixed. It’s disrespectful to not spell a person’s name correctly.
ESPN essentially died ehen he did as well
Well at least SS had a full life. On another note how much weight has Keyshawn gained..YIKES!!
Who cares he is not trying out for Football! He still looks GREAT!
This was 5 years ago. Key was fat here but he bout 25 lbs heavier now. Went from wide receiver to nose guard.
ESPN is not same without Stu, u are missed
He was an amazing man. You’d think they could at least spell his name right....
At least spell his name correctly. 🙄
