Love the Giardiniera! I have a LHD 1966 too. To combat the roof lifting in high winds I always open the 1/4 vent windows in the front doors. This also keeps the windows clear of condensation. The heater can be turned off/diverted out by rotating the lever just beneath the rear seat cushion, behind the driver in a RHD. The front heater hoses have knurled knobs under the dash to divert from screen demist to blow into the foot wells. Rear passengers also get heater outlets on either side of the central tunnel, again Giardiniera only , not on the saloon. Mine even came with a tow bar with a pin fitting but God knows what it ever towed in Italy!
Our dry British humour - brilliant ! Always loved these. Be great to see more content. I totally need a classic 500/126 in my life. Always been fascinated by them and love the sound, from the starter motor to the 2 cylinder noise.
Ha !! I thought this might just be "Clifford Peters", of "Autorossa" fame, in Ringwood, Hampshire... He restores 500's. 🤗 Nice video, I have two of these, in the murky past. Totally underrated, totally practical & charming !!
I want to see someone turn one of these into a camper for the hell of it. Remove the passenger and rear seats, slap down a bed frame/storage along the side of the car, a little kitchenette behind the driver's seat, hell even throw a little tv monitor against the rear of the car. Some curtains that go all the way around. Would be a gem.
Hi Clifford. Loved your video. I purchased one of these yesterday in Scotland. Been looking for a 500 for years and didnt know these estates existed! Soooo excited to get it back together (yes it's in bits) and on the road asap. Keep filming, you have a lovely approachable manner thats quite sweet. Cheers G
Thank you for watching! Good luck with your project, I hope it all goes well. Have a look at Elvezio for all things Giardiniera in Italy and Mark at Motobambino for anything in the UK!
Phew! Lucky escape. (Thought it strange with smoke at the front.) Anyway, ditch that cheap 1kg powder extinguisher and get yourself a Fire Safety Stick! But better option to save the car in case of another fire! Loved the videos by the way! 🤣

My dad's first car was an 1963 Giardiniara in the same colour as yours..
I have still the windblocker of it... and the instruction manual!

Wow. £23 000! I have two of these stashed away... one from the first year of production. Maybe I should dig them out!
If you do decide to sell, please consider me!
I’m thinking of buying one in Italy, I live there. What do you think, will I fit in there with closed roof if I’m 189 cm (6.2 inches)?
Do you still have the car? I have a right drive one myself.
ah - I see you learned your lesson: only take the little incinerator out when it's raining...
What a funny looking car 😆....
Looks like toy car
