I believe that we want to be productive but when we are doing work that we don't find value in its much harder to subscribe to that idea. Also when you are creating your own value to the world on your own time basis that alone makes work much different. As humans we have been programed into structure from an early stage and of course Monday can be a dreadful day especially if the work you do is meaningless.
