Thanks for vid -I picked up a pair for 5 bucks -I'm mid century so i may break a hip -however I want to paint them -and display if I get to chicken to actually skate in them
They've held pretty well which has surprised me! The only thing is that on the tongue of the skate there are some areas that have faded off and I believe it's because the laces are tight and rub when skating. The laces do cover those small faded areas so you can't really see them when skating but overall they're still looking good!
I have changed the bearings but haven't messed much with trucks besides loosening mine. Dirty School of Skate Channel has definitely helped me out a lot but there are tons of helpful videos on changing bearings and trucks.
I don't have these skates anymore but when I did the paint did not flake. The laces rubbing against the tongue of the skates did cause paint to fade one that area only.
Yes, paint hasn't came off as of now except a little bit came off on the tongue of the boot. Painting the skates hasn't affected my skating at all. It's mostly motivated me to continue learning.
This was my first time ever using these paints so I don't know but I think it would be okay if you don't use finsiher. I suggest to do some research because I dont want to tell you wrong either though.
I love them! Thank you for making this video, I'm going to try and restore my mom's old skates for her 60th birthday. Nice job!!

they look so good! how have they held up so far?

@@celi.araceli Hell yes I'm doing this. I bought the same skates!
wow!!! im doing mine for definite
Yasss!!! Glad the video has given you inspo to get creative and upgrade your skates!
It's nice!!!
These are so beautiful!!! Are you an artist?!? What color is this? Thanks for the video.
Thank you for the kind words! 😃 I am very happy with how they came out and still love them! The main color I used was Mauve.
Did the paint job hold up at the rink?
I don't know since I sold the skates about a year after making this video. I wish I knew though!
How much paint for the main color did you go though? I’m just wondering how big of a container I should buy for it to be enough.
For the main color, I bought a 4 fl. oz bottle but only used about 1/4 of it.
❤
Have you changed the bearing I'm having a hard time disassembling the trucks to replace them. Any suggestions or a video on that?
I have changed the bearings but haven't messed much with trucks besides loosening mine. Dirty School of Skate Channel has definitely helped me out a lot but there are tons of helpful videos on changing bearings and trucks.
Does the acrylic finisher crack when you wear them and does the paint hold up when you wear them?
good question!
Did the paint crack and flake after time?
I don't have these skates anymore but when I did the paint did not flake. The laces rubbing against the tongue of the skates did cause paint to fade one that area only.
What brand of paint did you use?
Angelus Paints
What kind of paint ?
Angelus Acrylic Leather paint is what I used.
How are they when you skate? Did the paint stay? Did it affect how you skated?
Yes, paint hasn't came off as of now except a little bit came off on the tongue of the boot. Painting the skates hasn't affected my skating at all. It's mostly motivated me to continue learning.
How can paint affect your skating that's Soo silly lol
I think I have kinda the same but smaller and I want to paint them and I wanted to know if the sanding is needed?
Im no expert, so I wouldn't say it's required. The reason I did it was to ensure the paint had a long lasting finish on the skates!
Can you tell me why mine turned out sticky? Dust and dirt sticks to my skates
If you used the Angelus Acrylic paints, I'm not sure why they turned out sticky. Unless you didnt allow them to dry when adding additional layers.
I have those EXACT skates, they used to be my mom's 😊
Awesome! 😃
Can I paint them with only the paint? Like without the finisher?
This was my first time ever using these paints so I don't know but I think it would be okay if you don't use finsiher. I suggest to do some research because I dont want to tell you wrong either though.
hi! I have the same skates. What wheels do you use??
Hello! I bought these skates off of OfferUp and seller stated they are Sure Grip wheels.
What type of paint is used?
Angelus Acrylic Leather Paint. All supplies are listed in description! 😀
The list in the video is to snap to see? Can you please write the list.:-)
Is this real leather or vegan?
Real leather!
