ive been going to the kern river up about 10-15 min from kernville once a week for the past month and a half and i have not been able to catch anything... me and 2 others have had zero luck, fishing from 1pm to 7pm zero fish... are we dogshit or what? we've tried all types of bait even illegal sorry not sorry we couldnt catch anything anyway. also one of my buddies has a fly fishing rod so yeah, still nothing
Haha maybe a little… First, what are you fishing? Spin or fly rod? For spin fishing, you’ll have a success with small salmon egg hooks. Use a slip sinker rig with a small egg weight, keep line tight. Fish in the ends of fast water where it goes to slower drifts and drift your one egg (black/silver glass egg pack is my fav) 4lb test line. The kern can be hard to learn, but once you get it, you’ll kill it!
Awesome
How hot was it out there when you got on the water?
Temps were about 70 degrees and up to 90’s by the end
Best times are now until November
Great temps and fishing!
What part of
You’ll catch fish any part of the upper kern in the 20 mile section.
Get out there!
