Seen a few modelers online now. You are the best so far. More attention to detail in cockpit, extra investment on aftermarket bits. And more importantly, you don't over weather the exterior. Well done.
There's something very calming in watching you work. It's like watching Hendrix play guitar. It makes it seem possible...maybe, just maybe, I can strike that power chord just the way he does. So, I try and build these same models. But, like my attempts to play like Jimi, my modeling attempts are no way comparable to yours. Oh master... maybe one day. In the meantime, I watch, I learn, I try again and again. Great videos.
All I have to say is, MAN YOU DO GOOD WORK. I only hope that the f-18 that I'm getting ready to work on looks half as good as the f-14 you have done. Great work.
Nothing but a clean premium build dude! Super nice 'Cat and great detail work! I know this video is old but I just subscribed to your channel and am now going through all your videos!
Only thing missing is the wear lines from where the wings sweep back and forth. There are a couple nice builds that have them on it and they look great. Just can't see paying $80 or $90 for this kit. I just got the Hobby Boss F-14D Tomcat 1/48. It is a great kit, comes with over 400 parts. It is kit #80368 with the black tail fins for the Grim Reapers. Worth every penny.
i did not see those panel lines on real navy aircraft when i worked on them i was going to go around all the panels with a blach sharpie to paint in the lines lol they do look good though. nice job
very nice build i love it! Not trying to crticise but just maybe some tips and advice for next time and that is maybe try painting the cockpit controls with a tootpick... it is alot more easier
thank you for taking the time to make this video, I will be using this to get me through my Tamiya F14 build. Im sure it will be an embarrassment compared to yours. excellent work.
You can use Spray cans , or just brush the black paint with the brush, but i think the best results you will get if you buy yourself an Airbrush with kompressor and learn to use it
Because of the way hydraulic pressure bleeds off as the engines shut down, the nozzle of the first engine shut down opens fully , while the last engine´s nozzle closes completly ( left engine). Only on the F-14-A version! The B and D versions have different engines
I saw different types of models for the f-14 tomcat, and the Tamiya brand was like $80+$10 shipping and the academy brand was $36+$10 shipping. I’m getting the academy one but I was wondering if that is a good brand. I know tamiya is a really good brand for models but it is a little expensive.
I hope you see this. I was looking at the Eduard aftermarket options and I'm confused and I'd love your help. I see they have this Brassin set for the cockpit and they have another separate sheet for the interior. Do both need to be purchased?
hmmm but you have to buy Cat.No.: 49805, these contains 2 sheets and one of them is not needed because you have the Brassin set , i dont know if it realy worth it , i had a spare piece from other Kit the one with mirrors for the canopy so i dont have purchased the PE parts.
hi, great build, I am just starting out, were the washes you applied oil or acrylic? and what did you use to clean them up? next, do you spray the clear coats with or without diluting them> thanks for your patience!!
Hi, i painted the model with Acrylic colors then i sprayed a Coat of Tamyia X-22 Clear coat diluted 40 % X-22 and 60 % Tamyias X-20 A Thinner, then i used Oil Washes , for example Panel Line Wash - Black Night made by Ammo of MIG,to clean the wash i use dry clean cloth, if the wash dryed to stark use enamel odorless thinner
For a school project, we have to build a model plane completely by our self. Do you think it is possible to 3d print something like this with that much detail in 1/48?
@@Headmod good to know. In the past, with the testors glue, you totally had to. I wasn't so sure nowadays. I'm getting back into this after 15 or 20 years.
That resin cockpit is a kit all to itself! Beginners to the hobby should be advised to wear a respirator when cutting resin, because the dust is carcinogenic. I enjoyed the build so much, I have watched the video twice now.
Great build ..... congratulations ... I am sooo envious ..... may I ask two things please ....... did you use the same air brush for all your work? .. and .... I love the stand you put the aircraft on .... what type is it ? .. Thanks
Hi, i use Iwata Revolution CR with 0,5 mm nozzle for general purpose work, and for fine work i use Iwata Custom Micron B with 0,18 mm nozzle , the Stand is from Vertigo jig : www.vertigo-miniatures.com/vertigo/eshop/15-1-VERTIGO-JIGS
How long do you leave the wash on before starting cleaning up the excess? Do you use X-20A thinner to clean it? Your video will be tremendously helpful when I start my 1/48 Kinetic EA-6B Prowler (unless you beat me to it!). Thanks for sharing!
Hi , i leave the wash for 15-20 min then i clean it off with a peace of dry cloth or paper napkin , for the areas that are difficult to remove i use Odorless enamel thinner , don´t forget the clear gloss coat before the wash so that its flows easier and easier to remove
The Lower side of the Plane were painted with Gunze C series , the Upper side with Tamiya colors, if you use X22 Clear from Tamiya as a gloss coat, there should not be problems with Oil washes
Just about to build this one and wanted a reference. You did an amazing job!! Where did you get the flight deck? I live that feature added on!! Thanks for the video and amazing work!!
It´s from a polish firm named "Steel Scorpion" , but you can easy order one similar good deck on www.coastalkits.co.uk its British firm specialised on all sorts of decks and bases on different sizes and scales
My favorite brush for the detail work is Tamiya 87073, or 87074 it is expensive , but it keeps its form over so many years , absolute top quality. Army Painter Wargamer: Detail is also good brush, Prod Code: BR7005. I hope it helps you, if you got any other questions then ask me.
You are my hero. The F-14 is such a time consuming project specially if it's a cheap brand. So I might get myself a Tamiya now.
lol
Those Cheap brand F-14 kits are just fine.. I’ve built many over the years. But if you want amazing , get this kit👍🏻
It doesn't get any nicer from this. This is just 110/100. Amazing.
Awesome... I have Fujimi 1/48 F14A.. Thanks from NZ 👍🇳🇿

Thank you for your words, i have still a lot to learn myself, my modeling experience was like try and error and learn from it. So keep building :)
That cockpit is by far the best I've seen. You should put them together and sell.
Amazing work! I especially like that you didn't weather the living hell out of it, like some people do. Just right!
hat off Sir, best F14 model ever seen 👍👍👍
All I have to say is, MAN YOU DO GOOD WORK. I only hope that the f-18 that I'm getting ready to work on looks half as good as the f-14 you have done. Great work.
Stunning build. You have some serious talent!
Thanks...its a beauty! My favorite naval fighter.
This is the most beautiful scale model I ever seen! You are awesome! This is better than the real! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I'm speechless! Amazing work. Especially the detail in the cockpit.
Absolutely. I'm a newbie here, I suppose these are the build and display models and not flying ones is that correct?
Great job man...!!! Congrats...
Excellent build congratulations
My favourite plane, very good clean job…..thx for this video....:)
Wowwwwww ..... Best work friend!!!!!
Gotta love them Tamiya kits. Great job, thanks. Good background music too
Man....., Thank you! Thank you for posting this video. Learned some new techniques. Beautiful Details on this kit.
AWESOME workmanship & skill! PERFECT! Thanks for sharing.
So beautiful! Fantastic job
That thing is a work of art!
Such attention to detail awesome!

I prefer the cat in matt finish but it is a spectacular job. Well done 👍👌
Music sounds like it's from Ace Combat. Awesome build.
Stunning, wish I had the skills and patience to do a build like that.
Darren Harband I wish to have Time, money and space to do a build like that XD
Amazing! Congratulations!
WOW, Mind blown, Great job.
Very entertaining thank you
Amazing build!!!!
Wow amazing detail n hardwork awesome cheers.... 😆
beautiful build.

Great JOB !!! AWESOME !!!
Asome work very naise done
Great model. Use Micro Sol and Set for decals and it'll be easier to attach, position, and affix them to the model.
Love it
Such detail
Stunning!

nice job but i dont have a spray gun what can i use for black base on motors and other colors in tamiya paints?

Very nice.
Subscribed.
Great work my friend!! can you explain why you have blue-tac around the airbrush @26:13 is it to stop dripping??
I thought it would improve the spray performance , but i didn't notice any diference at all
good job bro
more of this please!
Good thing about the Eduard resin parts is that you just replace them. Not like with Aires, where you spend a lot of time by sanding and trimming...
Beautiful work. Subbed.
Awesome work and video. What is up with the 7 downvotes? Who does that?
I have noticed at min 28:14 this kit has a different exhaust for right side. Is there a reason for that?
Because of the way hydraulic pressure bleeds off as the engines shut down, the nozzle of the first engine shut down opens fully , while the last engine´s nozzle closes completly ( left engine). Only on the F-14-A version! The B and D versions have different engines

I have little info on 3 d printing , but from what i know i dont think its possible to print something detailed like this
i will try and afterwards i can tell you. thank you anyways!
nice work on the tomcat may I ask where did you get the stand used to paint the model
Excellent! Makes me want to try 1/48 😀whats the song that starts when you start the ejection seats?
It´s called "Drive" by Otis Mc Donald and it´s in the TH-cam free Music Library.
Top F 14 of the Top
I don't see many people sanding the paint before gluing. Is it not necessary with that glue?
You can sand or scrap the paint away before gluing plastic parts together for the better bond
@@Headmod good to know. In the past, with the testors glue, you totally had to. I wasn't so sure nowadays. I'm getting back into this after 15 or 20 years.

I will use Gunze SM05 and GAIA 121 to do the exhaust, the same Tamiya 61114. But I like IRIAF's blue & gray camouflage much better.

1,5 ml Alcohol and 1 drop of paint

Nope.

35:26 song?
It´s called "Move Out" - MK2
I'm really impressed,
How many hours día you spend doing it

Hi its Vertigo jig from: www.vertigo-miniatures.com/vertigo/eshop/15-1-VERTIGO-JIGS
can i get a list of paint and where to find them in tamiya
If you got the Tamiya F14 A Kit that i am building in the VIdeo , there is an Instruction sheet inside a Box there you have a list of paints you need
The list is also on tamiyas website. Look for this kit, go to its page and it's there.

where to get airframe aluminum...?

Thanks for the link bud keep up the great work 😀
That carrier deck base is awesome. Is that a kit or did you scratch build it?
Super work. Possibly one of the best builds out there!
Also, what grey did you use for the main fuselage?
