I have improved on parts 2 and 4. Some advice on parts 1 and 3? 3 is my worst 2/5. I try to just read the question the first time and then I do not have time to pick the right answer the 2nd time. 20/30... 20 correct.
20/30 is still a good score. Here are some tips for Part 1&3 that may help: + Read the question quickly but carefully to focus on what information to listen for + Put a dot beside the answer you think is correct when you listen for the first time. Then make your final choice on the second listening. + Don’t panic if you cannot answer a question, leave it or guess and move on to the next one, otherwise you may miss that one too. + There will usually be some distraction in a listening task, so do not choose an answer until you have heard everything the speaker says. + Practise reading, listening and making a few notes at the same time + Familiarize yourself with different accents so that you are not always listening to only one type of spoken English + Listening to radio programmes, watching TV programmes in English if you can
@@VietFCE Hi, I've got the same problem: I make most mistakes in Part 1 and 3. I have got too little time to read the questiosn + possible answers before hearing the extracts, especially in Part 3. Could you maybe be a bit more specific about your first point of advice: What could/should I carefully and particulary focus on when quickly reading the answers; e.g. would only looking at the verb(s) be enough? One other question: Are the different accents always British/American accents in the CPE tests? (Gosh, I hope so!). Or could there also be accents from former British colonies (e.g Indian)?
@@IeneMieneMutte10 It's about the key words that help us get what the questions are all about. For example this test's Part 3 - Question 16: "the session ..he ..just conducted" . About the second question: Yes, it's possible that we will face some of other accents including Indian accent, Australia accent. So it is better for us to familiarize with different accents.
This may not be of much help but here is how i do it. 1. Instead of searching for the right answer try to eliminate those that aren't, sometimes it's easier to see what they DIDN'T talk about. for example in this one in question 17 I was torn between A and B... before realizing at no moment did they talk about Failing sales even though they do speak about them not being optimal, and that helped me decide on the right answer. 2. The first time the recording plays I try to pay the most attention to it to familiarize myself with what they are saying, trying to catch on any vocabulary that's more likely key, as I do this I only skim the answers and as the first person who replied said, I chose the answer I think may be right. By the time the record is repeated I have a very clear idea of the subject+vocab and I'm much more relaxed when reading the answers and usually I can relate an answer to the key vocabulary from the first listen. Lots of luck, you are doing great!

Thank you very much for your great help. I practice with these tests in order to pass my c2 test this year. Maybe in July. 🙂
You're welcome. I wish you achieve your goal.
22/30 this time, I found part 3 slightly demandig. Overall, it was compensated with part 4
22/30 is really a good score. Keep it up.
21/30 part 3 was hard but I'm taking C1 exam in this February.
25/30. Not that bad of a result but seriously, part 3 was deadly. 3 of my 5 total mistakes have been made there.
25/30 is a great score. Keep it up.
We want to practice of phone numbers.
22/30, part 3 just 💀'ed me to the edge of stupidity.

The last sentence answers this question clearly. Americans viewed the US as exotic, and so did the British.
