My son is a green belt, 6 years old and pretty tall for his age, he wants to get into contact sparring, which of these should I try and teach him first? He is good at kicking over his head but when he does so he leans maybe too much and looses balance. I just want to make sure he has some good defensive moves. I like the back hook kick at 3:00 and 3:10 I like that you get your head away from the opponent.
I loose balance too, but stoopped loosing balance since i got a balancing board where i can stand on it and kick in the air. its so worth it, i also use it for my younger brother ever since he got better at balancing
At 6 it will be a little harder to learn the spinning kicks right away but he can definitely work on them. I would suggest the round house under at 1st and knowing how to cancel. And of course getting inside without walking into kicks.
can you do a tutorial on proper footwork when kicking and proper form in sparring because my coach tells me that my left foot should be facing back when i do front leg kick with my right
We have a footwork for beginners vid coming up, but I think you are looking for fundamentals when it comes to kicking, you can check the cut kick tutorial we have on the channel
How to do kicks with no upper body movement? I was re-watching SEA Games and noticed most of them don't have movement on their upper body when they do kicks. It surprises even me because I mostly look at their upper body. So when they do a kick, I don't even notice it.
Hey, you might want to check this vid out th-cam.com/video/H1m8nO1QfR8/w-d-xo.html It is normal to feel challenged in the beginning, keep working and make sure you work you fundamentals and you will do better.
Pardon, Isn't The Kick To The Leg A Fowl ?. In The Case Of "Cancelling" Like You Said. Basically I Have Done That Before In A Sparring But Was Counted As A Fowl.
Our coach is poomsea athlete and even tho im yellow belt i know poomsea 1 to poomsea 7 and we sparr rarely so finally when we sparr we sparr like black belters because if we dont sparr our best we have to wait another month
Useful , thanks ♥️

i like to use the spin back kick for a defensive move, so is a push kick then into a side kick to their head

can you only use your palm when cancelling with the hand and can you push the leg?
Yes if you do it at the right time and you don`t spread your fingers. You can also do it with the closed fist.
How do you avoid Crescent style axe kicks from the shove after the clinch head Level ?
Can you please make a footwork video on how to create angles?

That`s bad technique
@@W1Taekwondo Oh ok ok, thanks for the info! I might need to rewatch some vids to see how they do their surprising kicks
I purposely skip my weekly Sparring classes bc I’m always getting hit and I cannot for the life of me get my kicks high enough to get a hit 😢

hitting leg is a foul but if you show like you both tried to kick at the same time nothing would happen
