My dad bought a consil stereo cabinet with a built in recorder and recorded me singing, played it back to me and when I heard what I sounded like..... I to this day have never sang again. Later, Simon & Garfunkel, American musicians, adapted and added lyrics to it and made this musical piece very famous. The Condor Pasa is a protest because of the exploitation of the Indians in the Peruvian mines. They are asking for freedom represented by the flight of the condor. The sad part represents the feelings of the exploited Indians and the happy part is the representation of the freedom recovered at the end. Ironically was a protest of the Indians against American companies in Cerro de Pasco Peru.

I first heard this song in the movie "Wild" with Reese Witherspoon. It's an amazing movie and she definitely played the part so god damn good. If anybodys not seen it, than I recommend it.
