The MD-HX is probably my most used piece of kit. What’s yours?

Yet another great kit video. Thanks!
Why would you pick the MD-LX over a BMD BiDir3G Microconverter that is cheaper?

They're essentially the same. I have both. Some claim the Decimators are more reliable, some claim Blackmagics overheat more. I've seen both get warm from use and I haven't had one fail on me unless it was specifically due to damage that was done to the unit.
The BM might be cheaper but also doesn't always come with a power adapter so that's another added expense.

@@zephanmoses reliability might be a factor then. I’ve had a few issues with some of the BMD BDMC3G’s I have having to reboot them from time to time when the picture does not align correctly. On the other hand they have USB-C power so they are pretty easy to get going even without a provided adapter.
Have you had any reliability issues with the MD-LX? Also do you know if they are able to relay the BMD camera control data?

@@ivarmh no issues with the LX. I don’t use Blackmagic cameras but I would think they operate the same way.

I love the products, but haven't they been unavailable for at least year?

The 12G Cross is available on B&H Photo and Adorama at the time of me making this comment. There are also HX's on ebay. You have to check every once and a while because they do go in and out of stock.
