Great videos Megan, glad someone finally put something like this together. I have been making my own braided gear for a couple+ decades and you gave me some new ideas! I like the vice suggestion! It would be great if you could give some tips on where to find the cordage that you use for braiding. Also, a handy tip that I use - small binder clips work GREAT at pinching off the material when you need to take a break. They also work great when you need to keep your strands organized while you are working on one side of a loop or when you are merging all the strands again after completely a loop.

Thank you so much for these videos! I'm trapping my first passage kestrel next month and love making my own equipment. Almost ordered b50 dacron bowstring until I found your videos! Keep up the fantastic work!

I love the idea of using a fly tying vice to hold your work in. I used braided dacron on my first attempt, but my bird destroyed the sennit knot the first day, wish I'd known the super glue tip then.

What size buttons are you using? The ones I got the holes were too small for the second strand to go through the hole.

What is the best cord you used for jesses and Leashes for Eagles

What weight/diameter lines are you using??? Not worried about strength I’m sure it’s all strong just what sizes are actually workable? Thinking around 1.0mm would be about right

Hello , great videos! They really helped me figure out the 8 strand braid and sennet knot! I practiced using 1.8mm micro cord from atwood. I wanted to ask, what size do you usually think would be good on a HHs or RTs... even with 8 strands of the 1.8 mm, the jess just seems so small in diameter, compared to say parachord. 1.8 seems more the size for a kestral in the hand. Your selections look a lot better than paracord imo. Let me know what you recommend.

Maybe I'm just to use tonusing leather or seeing parachord. I'm sure this fishing line is plenty string and much lighter in weight

Hello Megan. Will you be Doing a Lesson on TH-cam showing Us? Or how about a CD on this Project? How are your Birds Doing? Any Good News for Us? Can you Do Knots instead of Buttons ? Thanks for this short Video. Greg of Ohio
