1mm Macrame nylon cord.
You can find expensive super strong cord, but in my experience, it is not necessary if you do not plan to tow your car, using your jesses

What size string did you use?

I normally use 0.8 or 1mm cord. For heavier jesses, I've successfully used up to 2mm cord.
Anything beyond that and the finished jess will be ridiculously thick
