That black and white dress immediately reminded me of Grace Kelly's stunning black and white dress in "Rear Window." In other words--keeper!
Iconic! that's what I thought when I saw it in the thumbnail! . . . The earthquake in NYC (a) was felt as far into NJ as the central part of the state and down around Camden! (b) knocked-out GPS that was needed in Baltimore, Maryland!!! I know those things from persons that I know in all those areas. Here in Va., nothing; our earthquakes are usually caused by fracking.

When I heard you were heading our side of the world for your honeymoon I was so excited for you! It’s such an amazing place and Safari is the BEST! My husband and I actually had our wedding at a Safari lodge- so have a fair bit of experience going on a few!
In terms of weather- it’s a bit tricky to say because obviously you are used to NY winters but it can get pretty cold. The wind and rain factor is not a joke.. if I was you I would pack layering pieces just for those days when it’s maybe a little colder. Also be prepared for potential rain. We often get all seasons in 1 day.. In terms of the safari- I think you seem to have it down. Neutral colours are a must and I always like to be somewhat comfortable but you can definitely still be stylish (if that makes sense) I find linen to be the best to wear - the game vehicles are pretty comfortable and they will usually give blankets and ponchos for the cold and rain ☺️
For dinners in CT, items like that reformation dress are perfect (which is gorgeous by the way) - I love getting all dressed up for dinners and there are some amazing restaurants in Cape Town..
Also- for your outfit planning- I would suggest looking at the app Indyx. I use it ALL the time to plan outfits and packing lists! It’s so helpful

The silk pants are giving pajama bottoms, IMHO - maybe not the best choice for traveling. I hope that any hats you might purchase are very foldable to fit into a suitcase. Same with bags - as small and flat as possible - a crossbody for traveling and maybe one other small, neutral bag. Same with shoes - one sturdy, comfortable pair for travel and sightseeing, one pair of neutral flats, and depending on our agenda/itinerary, one pair of simple low-heeled pumps. I travel as lightly and as minimally as possible. I’m not a minimalist by any means, but I’ve learned over time to lay out in advance everything I want to take, and then reduce it by half - works like a charm every single time.
You’re not weird, you simply have not lost the joy and confidence of your inner child. You still find total delight in dressing up, it’s truly wonderful. You balance maturity and inner child perfectly.

Hi, i am based in UK but spend several weeks in cape town, on safari and in the Winelands. Re what to wear, dont wear your beautiful ring or any flashy jewellery. Its very low key clothes wise, so go casual, no heels, very laid back. Nothing dressy needed even in high end places. Its going to be very windy so knits needed. Enjoy….

A swimming costume , a warm jacket , gloves and scarf , a warm hat , so excited u are coming to ct . You have to dip in the cold ocean , Boulders Beach 😀 maybe , love the black and white dress and the cream jacket is great 😊
I’m not in South Africa anymore but I am South African 😜 Around May-June it’s the end of summer and going into winter, however our winters are pretty mild. With that being said, as you rightly said early morning it’s bound to be chilly so you definitely would want a jacket. The one you have should be fine, but I would have recommended maybe something waterproof just incase 😉

May i suggest a beige rain jacket? It would look so SAFARI CUTE. I dont know how long you're going to be on safari but these types of jackets can be useful. I pictured a beige gathered waist in a beige to match your Vejas. They pack ok and you can wear a couple of layers underneath for varying temps. Like something we wear in the Pacific Northwest Coast. Long enough so if you're sitting on a safari truck and it rains your butt stays dry. Lol
Not sure if ican attach a pic but something like a Patagonia or REI or the cutest one and cheapest from Columbia sports wear. Amazon prob sells waterproof types too.
I know its not your usual city style but can be cuteish. Yes i live in the PCN area so we do have to adjust (somewhat) our ideas of cute to the rain...occasionally. Lol
Or if not take one of those clear ponchos they sell at dollar or souvenir shops that you can pop on in case of torrential rainfall.

Just want to mention as a flight attendant also pay attention to mosquitoes and let's not forget dengue. So covering as much as possible would be my advice! And don't forget about visas and first aid kits cause I do see a lot of cute clothes but still don't forget to put that up on your lists.

I would recommend not wearing anything that's going to draw attention to yourself in Cape Town. Last year the first six months there were over 400 kidnappings, the majority of which happened in Cape Town. Go to US Department and state and read about it, there has been a travel advisory issued in February for Cape Town.
Good advice re not drawing attention. Cape Townians dress very casually and you really do not want to be standing out there. I am South African btw. Re the kidnappings - that is mostly linked to domestic violence.
Make sure you can get the dress off easily overtop hair and makeup after its done! or just wear the robe when you're getting ready

The “chemise de nuit” you bought isn’t a dress. It’s a nightgown. “Chemise de nuit” is French for nightgown or nightshirt. So you might want to rethink that.

I think the silk pants are a no, they do look like pj pants even with the styling.
Love your style, but for me i think i would pass on silk cream pants for traveling...to get anything out of silk is a bear and the wrinkles from sitting...well you know, this is a hard pass for me.
