@@JerkVegas86 I agree. This movie isnt a "good bad flick" so much as a "bad bad flick". This movie is like what would happen if Stephanie Meyer and Uwe Boll teamed up on a movie but inexplicably decided to give it more of a scifi vibe.

+GoodBadFlicks I was looking for best of your review to post on reddit with hopes of reddit hug of death but i just can't decide which one is best since all of them are so good.
+Algirdas Stočkus Reddit is an oddity for me. I've had my videos wind up there a few times and its hit or miss or super miss. Sometimes they love me, sometimes they hate me, sometimes they ignore me completely.
I used to watch your videos during my 420 friendly days and laugh my ass off. It's been two years since I last smoked and I still find your videos to be hilarious. That is a true testament to humor.
The real problem with this movie is that it commits the cardinal sin of superhero movies. It changes the powers that the characters have. John's Lumen ability (the light up palms) had a side effect of making his palms fireproof. Henri used a pair of crystals from that magic box (that never gets opened in the movie) to spread the ability over the rest of his body. John was fireproof. Six was not. Six could not teleport like Nightcrawler on Meth. She could turn invisible though. These changed powers would require rewriting pivotal action scenes in the next one if they do one. Not to mention everything seeming to move at a fast pace in the film because they don't give you a sense of the months long period that the book takes place over. It seems like a few days.
The time scale thing is the same for a lot of books to movies.. LOTR suffers from it in a BIG way. The time between Bilbo’s party and Frodo’s quest was years but the movies make it seem like a few minutes. (Also Frodo seems to be waaay too young) If I remember rightly Harry Potter struggles with it too. I think the issue is without having a shot that literally just says *6 months later* or some really bad dialog where they say something like “it’s been six months since that thing in the last scene” it’s very difficult to do. Even subtlety often messes it up! (Like changing weather patterns, autumn colours etc.)
LOL well, if this whole video thing doesn't pan out I'll have something to fall back on. Now if you'll excuse me I have to record some tracks for the 50 shades of gray audiobook.
Thanks for pointing that out! I usually don't check the numbers until after the first day so seeing it hit the 301 wall was pretty cool. I'm in the big leagues now lol. The views still aren't monstrous but at least they always seem to be on the upswing. :)
Thank you! I love video games but they are tricky because even a short game can be 6-8 hours of footage. I do have 1 game I've been working on in my spare time already captured, I just need to try and write the script for it and what not. Its something I would like to do every so often but unless this becomes my full time job I just don't have enough time to do it as often as I would like.
Really? I loved #6! After watching it the second time (and many times since) it just reminded me of how much I would have loved for her to have been in the film more. I just started reading the book so I'm curious to see if there is more of her in the book or if the movie followed her the same.
Reuben Langdon is a BEAST! He also did motion capture for Devil May Cry 3 and 4, not only voice acting. Nice vid, by the way. I watched I Am Number Four when it was released mainly because it starred Dianna Agron (Glee). I got really bored by the romance stuff but the action was well made. 6 kicks ass.
I know a lot of people didn't like this movie, but I thought it was very entertaining. It wasn't perfect, but I agree that the arrival of 6 made the last half hour very exciting. Again, great video!
I Am Number Four turns 10 today! I remember my sister and I saw it together. There was a lot of dragging but I'm happy it kicked into high gear in the third act. Michael Bay did produce so you recognize the action elements. Happy that unlike Twilight the romance angle wasn't ham fisted here. This was my first introduction to Alex Pettyfer and Teresa Palmer. I only knew Dianna Agron from Glee fame. I wish the villains were more intimidating though and didn't come across as goofy. It stinks we didnt get more sequels; the reviews were middling at best and the box office returns weren't high enough despite it making $150 million. It took me a minute to realize the same writers here also did Smallville. Director DJ Caruso is a good talent but it's a shame he didn't have a year to get through pre-production and editing. Maybe it'll be remade as a tv series in the future. That could balance things out better.
I cracked at the part @10:59-11:10 And to quote the Blockbuster Buster on his review on this movie...."There's already a "Twilight for Boys!"....It's called, Transformers!" XD

John's Lumen actually can allow him to control fire (pyrokinesis). The Power of Six actually focuses on Number Seven a lot too. I really want a re-boot because like you said, this series has a lot of potential
I wanted to see it when it came out but forgot to. To bad I did not get to see this on the big screen. I have to see it now also your references are well done. The box one took the cake and that is no lie.
And that's why it's not getting a sequel. It wasn't such a success with new audiences that didn't know the books, and it is despised by people who like the books.
The sequel never happened because they shot themselves in the foot by casting Alex Pettyfer, who is apparently a diva, not just in this movie but in Magic Mike. He's a difficult queen to work with that's why his career never took off.
The line about Twilight for guys being called pornography made me spit Shiner Bock all over my keyboard. Always a pleasure to watch your videos, keep 'em coming!
I can't agree with you here this movie was just another badly written YA crap film full of cringe-worthy dialogue and constant plot holes. Theresa Palmer and her badassery couldn't save this terrible movie from being anything more than what it was, a blatant cash grab capitalizing on the Twilight/Hunger Games craze.
Dude i love your channel, I too was drawn in by this movie. I was highly skeptical at first expecting it to just be another wannabe twilight but now I really wanna see a sequel.

I really like this as well, even though I'd pretty solidly outside of the target audiences age range. I'd love to see a sequel. More importantly, people of this age range need a sequel to this. Hunger Games is doing a good job of it, but this movie has strong female characters and that's important for teenage women. Maybe not so much in this day and age, but certainly enough to warrant more movies with them.
Cheesy dialogue, bad CGI, a love story that comes out of no where, lots of plots holes, bad parenting and a boring build up to an ending that even syfy would snicker at. This is to....tally "Twilight". I liked number 6 btw, but her badassness was waaay forced. She's cute and seems very athletic but i think she was too late to save the movie.

Another fun job once again Cecil maybe I put this film in the list of ''I give it a shot sometime?'' along with some of the other flicks you reviewed lately LOL.
One is dead though, but Robbie would never get caught. Oh, sorry was I supposed to give a spoiler warning? (It's a joke because of the fact that it says on the book that three are dead)
The box is supposed to be John’s inheritance from Lorien. Basically tools that came from his home planet to aid in their battles and reset their planet
If they had actually followed what happened in the book like the hunger games did instead of making up their own Crap, they would have made as much money! But noooo, let's ruin how the actual story went by changing a few things! First of all Henri`s name is pronounced awnri, and he speaks with an accent (I read it with the Audio). Second, he was supposed to die at the end of the movie not halfway. Third, the mogs turn to ash when this die, not the garde or their cepans. Forth, six doesn't speak with an accent, her legacies are invisibility and weather control, not teleportation and fire proof. The fire proof is fours (John). Fifth, Henri had to train four to develop his telekinesis. Sixth, the fight the end was way more intense and brutal with about 100 mogs, not 7. Seventh, the mogs eyes a fully black. Eighth, four had to kick 6 other guys asses just before he got to mark and made him apologize to him, Sam, and Sarah in a full nelson. That's only eight out of 20 things they got wrong in the movie! In short, every thing that happened in the book, happened in the movie in every wrong way. The main thing they got right was how the characters were described. The movie was ok, but it ticks me off about how many things they had gotten wrong. If they wanted to make money out of it, then they should've gone by the book like the hunger games. Not make up Crap...
usually how it goes.... companies can't be bothered to follow source material. It's fine if you want to expand on a couple things, but keep it close to the source material. Dragon Ball Evolution cough cough.
Not weather control its control over elements, she made fire rage a bit more in the first book to cremate Henri and in the second book she lifts up water and in the first book she says that it's control over elements but either way it was a good opinion/arguement
Pretty accurate summation but it's 2019 and still no sequel.
