- This is a pretty cool thing. It's basically like the Ecology videos in other games, but it also benchmarks your PC and gives you a Score based on how well it did. Of course my score is lower than it should be because of the recording (My initial test was around 5000). Regardless, I thought this was really cool.
In my opinion, best part is when Raviente eats the Velociprey, around 1:00 in.
Nightmare Fuel at its maximum. I mean, just think of it. We are treated to a scenery of a beautiful island with gorillas relaxing, herbivores getting their food, carnivores planning an attack. When all of a sudden this giant serpent-dragon-thingy just attacks and eats everything in sight, turning a beautiful island into a desolate wasteland.
You call this children story nightmare fuel? This is how you do it:
We see this beautiful island paradise. The Congalas are just lazing about, Herbivores going about their lives but with the Velociprey and Espinas are uneasy. Next we see a couple of herbivores going about their daily lives but are interrupted with their own kind running away from something. Then, Satan's pet snake-dragon jumps out and swallows a herd of Aptonoth while crushing nearby fleeing Aptonoth and Kelbi. The Velociprey goes to attack but are wiped out in one move. The volcano erupts. The sky darkens. The ground opens up, swallowing a group of Aptonoths. Fireballs rain down, knocking out and killing Espinas. The last we see is a hellish landscape with the demon circling an erupting volcano, roaring in victory. Later, we see a group of hunter approaching the barren wasteland that used to be this tropical paradise.

So that's how the dinosaurs died out.
I love how the hunters just go, "...alright, let's kill it! CHARGE!"
I remember this fight, I only fought it once but never did I forget such epicness in terms of scale, and number of hunters involved, the match can only start when 32 hunters are assembled for this once a month main event

The "subspecies" is actually a raviente that hasn't eaten for months or maybe years, malnutrition.

@@lucasfraczek4320 Yup, and it's the same for the Berserk one, since it's kind of like the Violent one, but was woken up in it's very own nest by the hunters, so it's starving AND really pissed of. (As for the tusks shape, it's because they're not worned out from digging yet, no idea for the crystal on it's back though)
This guy is even worse then the Deviljho or Shagara Magara. y just digging into the earth, all life on Geyser Island is gone. No wonder the Guild wants it dead.
Man, this vid totally changes my opinion about Raviente
I always thought he was kinda like most elder dragons, don't disturb him and you're fine, but this monster is just a brute that slaughters anything it sees. I swear, if I ever get acces to Monster Hunter Frontier, that thing will be the first to die >:D

It is a benchmarking tool. It shows a video at the best graphical level that the developers could use, and based on how well your PC is rendering it you get "points". At the end of the video your score can be used to compare to modifications you do to your setup. For example, if I were to change my hardware, I could use the tool a second time to see how much of a difference the upgrade made.
THAT'S the Raviente? Good god! Yeah, this thing HAS to be a final boss. I can imagine that it caused players quite a hard time.
Regular Raviente can first be fought at HR17. That's not even in high rank. The closest thing Frontier has to a final boss right now is Disufiroa.

In that, he says that he estimates the Raviente to be 432m long or bigger, which would but it in the same ballpark as Dalamadur if it was true.

this is probably the scariest intro to a monster in the entire series. we got this edenic island full of life, something feels off, and then this... T H I N G just explodes out of the ground, killing hundreds of creatures simply by moving. the sight of him coiling around the volcano is infernal in every since of the word.
I guess that means the Raviente subspecies isn't actually a subspecies, just a Raviente after prolonged exposure to volcanic ash and such.
With Ravi finaly being AGAIN the biggest Monster ever (10m above the second place now that basicaly was scaled down as wiki and fans did basicaly add wrong numbers all over the place again... typical), still not appearing in world or rise. I realy would have loved FRONTIER to hit west... sad that it never will... thats some TRUE MH, neither World nor Rise can compare to it!
AND its the FIRST 16 Hunter Hunt EVER PLUS: Multi group battle. Ravi is fought by what? 4 groups a 16 people? on 4 different battles? and still takes like forever to hunt
Imagine having to go against something so huge it can hug mountains, and you only have swords and bows and pointy sticks. And an electric guitar for some reason.
So if this is happening all the time in the monster hunter world and there are no natural predators for these elder dragons, how has the planet not been reduced to a barren, dead world a hundred times over? How have these elder dragons not starved to death?

Well, yeah, but who was doing the hunting before humans were even a part of the planet? Or did these monsters appear only recently as a result of humans screwing up the planet?
+wrathofautumn A lot of them could be bioweapons. Apparently a huge war took place that nearly drove all participants to extinction, so they wouldn't have been around before there were people to hunt them. Either that, or it's a bit of gameplay and story segregation. In lore, there could only be an extremely small number of elder dragons. Hell, as far as we know, the gogmazios you can fight is the only one of its species.
+wrathofautumn Have you ever read/seen the manga/anime Toriko? One of the big things about it is that the world is divided into two major parts: the Human World, where people live, and the Gourmet World (yes, it's big on the food aspect), which makes up the rest of the planet. The Human World is actually maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of the Gourmet World, which is home to all sorts of nasty beasts that not even nukes could stop. Fittingly, it's chock full of food - more than enough to keep colossal monstrosities like Raviente well-fed.
I'll bet the world of MH works the same way - the Human World is where the mainline series takes place, while the Frontier games takes place in this franchise's answer to the Gourmet World.

Could it be interesting that the Dalamadur we fought in MH4GU is rather small because of the specs and or console limit? Probably if he ever appears again in the future, his size will be the same like Raviente/Laviente.
Adult Dalamadur is tiny. Just give it 3 more monster hunter game titles time and we have a monster that's half the size of russia. Capcom likes bringing out bigger monster's with each game title. Remember when a Juvi Lao was considert insanly big?
