The Private Medical Records Program

The Private Medical Records (PMR) Retrieval Program offers an array of avenues for education on program processes, history and overall health. However, District Offices, Field Managers, VA Executive Leadership, and other business stakeholders may find this information too detailed in the multi-faceted systems and operational aspects that go into processing each request.
Our newest training video, “The Private Medical Records Program, Transforming VA Claims Processing & Improving the Veteran Experience” provides a high-level overview of the program’s operations in an effort to build awareness and trust in all of the benefits that it offers. The video illustrates how the program facilitates the decision making process; explains the benefits of its use verses traditional development; and demonstrates system integrations for intake of requests and delivery of medical records for ingest into VBMS within 12 days or less. The video also provides claimant testimonials or ‘success stories’ of how the program has assisted claimants with receiving benefits in a timelier manner resulting in award of benefits.
