      Most receivers would have stepped out of bounds given this situation. Diggs instinctively went for the jugular. That’s what winners do; they don’t settle. He forced a trade because the Vikes are stuck in a play-safe mentality. Vikes let go of an elite receiver with a relentless winner’s mentality in favor of a middling and overpaid and middling qb.

      Its the game of the gods, the only one where the fans get to play along and strategize with every snap. Every fan has an opinion on how these combat chess pieces should move, and your football IQ grows quickly as you start taking in games. Soon your opinions manifast as chances taken and predictions made that may bring equal portions of elation and rage. The nuances of this game are endless; a casual fan can morph into a maniac in just a couple short seasons while absorbing them all.
      Oh yeah, and Minnesota sensibilities are probably the most European of the 50 states (see voting history and civic engagement). Evidence that we're different is evident right from the name: MINNESOTA.
      Every professional sports team in our state is named after the STATE of Minnesota. Compare that to every other major sports franchise in the US...they're virtually all city teams. WE stand together as a unique and exceptional STATE in this country. Often referred to as "Minnesota Nice"...because it's deserved.
      Welcome aboard...SKOL!!!

    See the person in the neon green vest that says "FOX" on the sideline right after he caught that pass holding a big plastic thing that looks like a giant salad bowl? (At 56 seconds into the clip) That was me. I was running a parabolic mic for Fox Sports, as I have done for around 20 years for every home Vikings game. That pass came straight at me. If he hadn't caught it it would have hit my parab. This is simply the most exciting moment in over 20 years of being on the sidelines. Unbelievable. The next year for a week before the Super Bowl in Minneapolis I worked on Pro Football Talk for NBC (was also on the sidelines for the game working for NBC), and Stefon was a guest on the show. I guided him to sit on the set and said , "You know, I was 10 feet away from you when you caught that pass!". He laughed and said, "Was it exciting?" and I said, 'YES!!!! The most exciting thing in 20 years!". He was super cool about the whole thing. What a great moment to have been part of!

    When it’s your year, it’s your year and the Football Gods seem to be smiling down on Minnesota. Best of luck to the Vikings I hope they win it all now after this game they deserve it, was a very exciting game. As a Saints fan myself, I know how Sean and Drew operate after this sour taste, we will be back hungry, focused and pissed off next season. We’ll be a better team from this.

    immaculate reception and this play are two of the greatest plays in the history of the NFL.

    • @jrad410
      @jrad410 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      True or False and both plays led to nothing

    • @trueorfalse6347
      @trueorfalse6347 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really. The immaculate reception was the spark Pittsburgh needed that fueled 4 Super Bowl wins from the mid 70's to 1980. That play turned Pittsburgh from a losing franchise into one of the best in the NFL. So that catch lead to something most NFL teams and cities can only dream about.
      Maybe the Miracle in Minnesota will also lead to better things for the people in Minnesota. Time will tell.

    • @jrad410
      @jrad410 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      True or False no the reason they won those 4 superbowls was because they had a dominant defense lol that play didn't magically make them champions. Are you saying had that one single play not happened they wouldn't have won those superbowls?

    • @trueorfalse6347
      @trueorfalse6347 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      jrad,
      No I am not saying that if that play didn't happen that they would not have won 4 Super Bowls. I am saying that the Immaculate Reception was the play that was the beginning or spark for them that led to winning 4 Super Bowls. Pittsburgh was a losing team prior to that moment. Then all of a sudden the Immaculate Reception and then 4 Super Bowls. And you are right the Steelers had an incredible defense. They were fun to watch.
