  • I show you guys how i went about fabricating my own DIY dual battery tray.
    Installing fuse and relay boxes as well as finalising the main power wiring routing.
    I also install a set of BT Cruiser gas bonnet struts which in my opinion is a MUST have for any 70 Series Landcruiser owner.

    Good job young blood, with out sounding like an old man, have you thought about tying in the outside angle to the base, 50kg of batteries off road is a lot of inertia, it only looks like 25x25x3’mm a little movement and the angle could kink outward, sounds farfetched, but worse has happened to more well planned trays, sorry to but its just years of mistakes making me say it. Keep up the good work bro, she’s a dardy rig

    Might be worth leaving the original bonnet holding rod in there in case the struts fail, that way you can still easily put your bonnet up if your out Bush

    I am no engineer nor a welder, but I would have put another triangle in between the two batteries for extra support.
    Edit: Super neat electrical setup, definitely got a lot of ideas from your build.

    It’s unfortunate that Toyota’s didn’t get to Canada in quantity’s to that it did in the rest of the world. Thank the Americans again for that. I would love to find a older land cruiser to do these mods to.

    Hello again. I'd say out of all the vids so far (and work) this is my favourite. Very impressed with attention to detail regarding wiring bracketry & concealed wiring, harness tidy-up etc. I'll be using some of the ideas myself! (bout to embark on 75 series troopy resto) Pete in Airlie Beach

    Love watching your videos and the neatness and care with your work. Can I ask a question regarding location. Given that under bonnet heat is the enemy of efficient battery performance and longevity, would you have considered putting the tray on the drivers side of the engine away from the turbo? Alternatively can you heat shield them somehow. Keep up the great work. Just starting my 60 series lockdown project. The videos keep me inspired.

    • @ShedBuilt
      @ShedBuilt  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers mate i appreciate it! You're too right, the turbo housings will be getting as much heat shielding as possible which i think should be fine regarding the batterys. I would have preferred them to be on the drivers side for plumbing but would have been a nightmare rerouting the wiring

    You do really nice work and videos. Just wondering - I have none of these tools and none of the experience to make one of these trays. Do you make these for people? If so, I would buy one from you. My trays are the plastic flimsy ones, and don't do the vehicle justice.

  • @mt72
