I have a Tahoe T16 and thought it was perfect for me and my family. The main reason I chose it was that it fit in my garage. With upgrades (very similar to the SVX 171 but only 75 HP) it came out to almost $25K out the door. Little did I know how cramped we'd be on that boat. It's 16.5 feet but the sun pad in the rear is completely useless while you're underway so it's wasted area. Storage is not very good because the compartments are finished (which look pretty but take away from the usable space). My MAIN problem with the T16 is that it carries 950 lbs of people (5 normal adults). It runs great with a 75HP and is easy to trailer...BUT when you fill it up with minimal gear (umbrella, cooler, life vests, bumpers, anchor, etc) you trip over everything. The only other Tahoe that could fit my needs is a 1950 ($42,000 + tax) which holds 1430 lbs of people and barely fits into my garage. The SVX 171 fits my needs perfectly, holds 1400 lbs of people has more freeboard, safety rails and I found for $37000 out the door including tax. I'm getting one this weekend.
Taking delivery of my 22 in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to the tight handling of this deck boat. All reviews I’ve seen are very positive. Anyone who owns this boat, how is the steering without power? I’m getting the 115 Yamaha. Thanks!
Bought ours in July of 2020 with the fishing package. I feel the price is fair, given everything it comes with are standard and not additional cost/upgrades, other than ours has the Yamaha 115hp SHO. That said, we love our boat so far!!!
@@luilou1 No hydraulic steering, but we have a 115 hp Yamaha SHO (the max hp motor for our boat), and hydro steering honestly isn't necessary. The boat steers smoothly and easily without it.
@@pcleveland not sure how long it takes to get up to 20 mph/on plane, but it doesn't seem long, and it's a smooth quiet ride... doesn't burn a lot of fuel either.
I lost interest when he said" $ 30,000, plus its made in Mexico. where they pay cheap labor to build that Boat, then they come to the USA and sell it for a very high fee-?
Cool that they told us the price. Most boat reviews don't give you the price, but I'd rather buy the entry level Yamaha for about the same price.

@@pcleveland it's on plane around 20 mph.
With the Yamaha 115 hp SHO, top speed is 33 to 35 mph.

For $32K ... might as well get a 20 ft. or larger boat!
