I knew the cars would bring a good sale, about 20 years ago i saw a slightly newer version of the Batmobile (might have been the one with the red wings underneath) in a clean box go for £150
In regards to the Berk Foster painting regardless of whether the dealer considers himself to be an expert on Burke Foster it is inappropriate for him to label this picture a fake or a copy as he has a vested interest in purchasing said picture. England has some of the best art authenticators in the world and are recognized worldwide in thier ability to authenticate paintings sculpture and works of art by Grandmasters and lesser known artists alike and this is the appropriate way to have a painting who's authenticity is in question to be settled. The seller made the right choice to put the painting into the sale room although the behavior of the sale room was questionable as well and until the painting is properly authenticated it's authenticity will continue to be in question from now on
Don't forget the gorgeous Robertson's Jam Golliwog. Wokesters are killing tradition . Here in Australia we have or had a cheese named after the company founder. His name was Coon. That upset the woke ass wipes so now it's called Cheer. Wondering how long before they crap off about Koondoola , Koongamia, Koonunga and Coonawarra just to name a few Coons. I guess we must be seriously racist in Australia.
Rather shocking antics by the sale room with that painting. Knowing it was likely a copy yet selling as by Birket Foster.
I agree, pretty shady dealing.
Though without boxes I’ve got identical cars plus chitty chitty bang bang in played with condition. I’d swap them for my teeth and hair back!!
