    Excellent video! 😂😂😂 We are camping for the first time next weekend with this tent. Ive watched at least 15 videos of setting up this tent. This was by far the most entertaining and helpful ( first video to say how big a tarp I should use!) Thank you. Liked and Subscribed! 👍👍👍

      @@WastingTimeInTheWoods I start my first job in Arizona today. Hopefully I will be able to get out and celebrate with the dog out in the desert. Will be nice to have the extra space. I boondock out of my Jeep WJ.

    great video. i have this tent as well. my experience so far has been mixed. the main door seam burst on the first day. and the tent pretty much has to be taken down in windy conditions due to extremely high profile. love the space. great in the rain. but getting tired of fixing all the ties and anchors every day or few hours as the tent topples over in breezes.

      Are using the guy lines? Stakes don’t do much in high wind, its all the guy lines from the fly that keep you secure. I use large rocks for those if possible but fully staked out and guyed, this guy should be good up to 30mph. We just switched to a gazelle for speed.

      Absolutely. I had it set up per specs. Even beefed up the lines with small gauge nylon rope. The pole connection piece in the top of the tend actually snapped. So i couldn't even get it to stand in still air anymore. Lasted 4 days ....
      Brutal. Went to the nearest Walmart and bought the cheapest tent i could stand in. It's now been standing through two pretty intense rains and much higher winds than those that crippled the Napier.
      I am sad to say i wish I hadn't wasted the 500$ and the HUGE amount of packing space to lug the thing around for 3 weeks.

    At 2:57/5:21 you show a fold-down table on the rear door. Can you provide the brand and model of table, and possibly some insight of how you mounted it to the door? BTW, love your video's; I have a GX 460 and use some of your discoveries in my quest for achieving Overlanding capability too. I recently went about 10 miles in from Bodie, CA this week. It was my first real journey down a road that has almost no traffic (one Tacoma came the opposite way).

      Thanks! I've got a poor man's air compressor series coming up where I take a cheap smitty built compressor and mod it to be more like an ARB so stay tuned. As for the table, it's a cheap Jeep ebay fold down. I think I paid $50 with a couple tactical bags. They're a bit more now - www.ebay.com/itm/Foldable-Rear-Tailgate-Door-Table-Storage-Cargo-Shelf-For-Jeep-Wrangler-JK-07-18/223731126547 and it looks like they stopped giving away bags. I had to modify it to be about 3/4" wider to clear the cubby that is behind it. To mount it I used big flat washers behind the plastic and nylock nuts. It's a bit flimsy TBH and I might have gone with the front runner if it weren't such a screaming deal. It's great for sand-which making though : )

    At 0:06, you have the bottom rope on the right wall of the rainfly staked off but then there is that second top rope. Have you figured out what thats for yet? Ive been scouring the internet with no luck.

      Just another guy out line I believe. Helpful when it's really windy to keep the fly from flapping around.

    This seems more like an ad. Can you buy the screen room seperately if you bought the cheaper model to start?
    Bought it yesterday and it does not seem very big to me.

    • @WastingTimeInTheWoods
      @WastingTimeInTheWoods  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well I wish it was an ad but unfortunately I bought this used off a guy in a walmart parking lot. As stated.
      Not sure on adding the screen-room to a lower model. Sorry, the screen-room does make it feel much bigger. Its about 2/3 of the main room so I can see the model without it feeling a bit les taj-mahal-y. Even if you don’t sleep anyone in it (I usually sleep out there with the dog to give the girls more room) keeping your stuff out there alone opens up a world of space in the sleeping room.

      @@WastingTimeInTheWoods Thanks. I am going to give it a try this weekend. I do have a separate screen room, but was trying to reduce things carried in the van. If I like this thing, maybe I will buy the same model you have. Where does one get them? Mine was from a garage sale, so I don't know where to look.
