  • A week ago I came across a floc of Monk Parrots also known as Quaker Parrots that appear to be living in the Northeast end of Central Park, at the Edge of the Harlem Meer. They feed on the apple trees in the Conservatory Garden and fly around the northern end of the park near 5th Ave. I counted at least 16 birds in one group but there appears to be many more then just those 16 birds. I suspect that these birds are a splinter ground of the green parrots that live in Brooklyn that have finally made there way into the city.
