On a more serious note, we chat with Taylor about the domestic abuse she endured from her husband at the time, Russel Armstrong, through most of her marriage and while filming RHOBH. We dive deep into topics such as why join RHOBH with this hidden secret, the difficulties of filming trying to hide this from the cast, how did she convince Russel to “let” her join RHOBH, did the show make the abuse worse, who from diamond holders did she confide in, and finally, did RHOBH, in effect, save her life? Taylor opens up about the full range of emotions expressed after she found then husband Russel Armstrong hanging in his LA home and resulting legal battles she faced as result of inheriting his several million dollar debt. Taylor reflects on how lucky she is to be here today, a gift she has shared in her aptly titled “Hiding From Reality” book and now shares in public speaking engagements across the county in the hopes of helping others suffering from domestic violence. I can definitely see that Taylor has healed and done the work. This was a really raw retelling and she said it so peacefully. I cannot imagine what it must have been like, but Taylor is proof that healing exists and is possible. She should write another book (if she wanted) now that she is truly at peace. She said on RHUGT that Hiding from Reality was rushed due to the season 2 reunion. I'd love read a book from her new perspective.

I'm so glad to see Taylor happy and strong. For someone who has suffered abuse myself, it was plainly obvious almost from jump that Taylor was being abused. Her demeanor alone gave it away. She was always so jumpy, and in her scenes with Russell, it was clear. I know abusers when I see them. I would tell Taylor to put her past behind her and don't continue to beat yourself up over Russell. Russell beat on you enough. You deserve to be happy and loved. Your beautiful daughter looks up to you. Show her what strong looks like.
When the news came out that her then husband killed himself, it was heartbreaking. She always looked shell shocked and when she was around Russel, she was only interested in keeping him happy. Now, we know why. She looks great and seems to be in a much better place in life. I hope she has an amazing life from here on out. she deserves to be happy.

Really enjoyed this interview it was super insightful and very real something that reality tv needs is real life issues beyond money and fame ppl like to mask there problems out of shame or embarrassment and mental health is a very real problem happy to see Taylor surviving overcoming and moving on 💕💕
