2:56 15 child tickets were sold on Mon = 1/5 of total tickets sold that day therefore there were 60 adult tickets sold 60 touches 2 lines on the sales of adult tickets on Mon, and the amount of adult tickets sold on Wed reaches 3 lines, therefore 90 adult tickets were sold on Wed.
an easier and more straightforward method for 7:07 Question: Gopal had 3 identical tins of paint that were completely filled. He poured 760 ml out from each tin. The total amount of paint left in the 3 tins after pouring was equal to the amount of paint in 1 tin at first. What was the amount of paint in each tin at first? We can say that Gopal has 3 tins of paint, the total amount of paint after pouring is equal to the amount of paint in 1 tin before pouring. So, 3 tins - 1 tin = 2 tins Gopal poured 760ml out from each tin, so 760 X 3 = 2280 Now we can conclude that the amount of paint in the 2 tins at first is equal to 2280ml For those who don't understand, After pouring 760ml of paint from each tin, the TOTAL amount of paint in all the 3 tins is equivalent to the amount of paint in 1 tin before pouring. So we can say that 760ml X 3 = 2280ml --> paint in 2 tins before pouring Imagine this, ❤️❤️❤️
if after pouring out 760ml from each tin causes the remaining volume of paint in each tin to be 1/3 of the capacity of 1 tin therefore 760ml is 2/3 of a tin 760/2 = 380 380+760 = 1140
qn15 is actually hard. no where in the qn does it say ed is equal to cd, which in order to get the answer in a reasonable time (for a primary school student) said information must be assumed. it is worth noting that a full solution (using ratio and trigo laws) in an open ended qn would require much more time. (makes you wonder if the examiners considered their target exam takers)
ED does not have to be equal to CD, you will get the same solution regardless. Area ABF = 1/2 * 2/3 Length AD * Length AB = 1/3 Area ABCD. Therefore, shaded area = 2 (no. of triangles) * 1/3 Area ABCD (area per triangle) * 15/16 (accounting for overlap) = 5/8 of Area ABCD.
Just combine baf and ced to form a square with area 16, the unshaded part will be 8. Since egf is 1, you deduct the 1 from 16 and u end up with 15/24 which is 5/8

For question 17 of paper 2, part 1 ans is 21. Part 2 ans is 13. 96 times 3=288. 288-204=84. Since there is 4 PQs( 4 cos one of them is covering a part of one of the trapeziums, 288 is supposed to be the perimeter but since you do what 4xPQ is, you have to subtract 204 from 288 to find 4 PQ), we divide it by 4, 1 PQ= 21. Part 2: since there is 4 trapeziums, if you can visualise, it forms 2 rectangles, with the slanted side being unknown. Thus, 1932 divided by 2= 966. Since you know that PQ is 21, and if you can remember the formula to find area of rectangle(which is length x breadth), since you know breadth(which is 21), 966 divided by 21=46. Then we use some info from the question(the 12cm) and our ans of part one, 46-21-12=13. You’re welcome😊
i swear this is so relatable although for psle math i got al 1 i think i return everything back to cher already bc when i do paper again i cant do at all 💀
91.8 divided by 6 is actually very easy. Treat it as 90 divided by 6 + 1.8 divided by 6. The answer to the first part is a simple 15. Now 1.8 divided by 6 is very straightforward and simple too, but if you have problems doing it directly, then just multiply 1.8 by 10 to get 18, then divide it by 6 to get 3, and finally divide it by 10 (since you multiplied by 10 earlier) to get 0.3 . Now add 15 and 0.3 to get 15.3, which is the answer. For someone who claims to be acing his math exams all the time, this result is pretty disappointing, especially when you're doing this exam many years after.

We can say that Gopal has 3 tins of paint, the total amount of paint after pouring is equal to the amount of paint in 1 tin before pouring.
So, 3 tins - 1 tin = 2 tins
Gopal poured 760ml out from each tin, so
760 X 3 = 2280
Now we can conclude that the amount of paint in the 2 tins at first is equal to 2280ml
For those who don't understand,
After pouring 760ml of paint from each tin, the TOTAL amount of paint in all the 3 tins is equivalent to the amount of paint in 1 tin before pouring. So we can say that 760ml X 3 = 2280ml --> paint in 2 tins before pouring
