Cool! You are still in my neck of the woods. Hope you can make it to Highland Park and Las Colinas. I-30 goes by Six Flags Over Texas on the right. The double loop rollercoaster is the Shockwave.
Be careful around Dallas worse drivers ever down there in Texas. But Dallas has nice buildings I want to go to the Dallas Galleria again been to it three times and want to go again 😂. But definitely go visit Fort Worth and the Stock Yards and the Gardens there as well.
I grew up in Fort Worth and I've lived all over DFW. That last area he was driving thru is known as Deep Elm where there's lots of bars, restaurants, and night clubs. I don't remember exactly where in Deep Elm but there's an old hotel building and that's where blues legend Robert Johnson did his recordings in the 1930s and then Eric Clapton recorded in the same room just a few years back.
Next time you're in the area, you should tour the northern suburbs, including Frisco, Plano, Irving, Lewisville, Grapevine, Keller, Colleyville, Hurst, North Richland Hills, and Fort Worth (Alliance). You'll find plenty of large houses and mansions in those areas.
What is it that you don’t like about Atlanta that is better in Dallas? I’m asking because ATL and Dallas are two cities I’m looking at for moving. What is making you want to leave ATL?
@@tswagg504 I should probably update this comment because I’m having a change of mind. Atlanta is honestly way too poppin right now for me to leave and I truly love it here. There’s sooooo much to do and I just know the city. It’s beautiful here and a lot of fun. People here are just chill. I think Dallas would be a downgrade so ima stay in Atlanta since it’s only getting more popular
Thanks for the video! I know these highways well. You picked a good time to be on I-30. There were only a few slowdowns. There are almost always spots of stop-and-go traffic in Arlington. I'm curious how fast you were driving. The speed limit is 70 mph on I-30, and everyone was passing you. Also, for the people who don't know, stay out of the left lane unless you are willing to drive 80+ mph. That lane is for passing and the speed demons.
It’s Texas. We don’t know… 😅 But I most definitely know between Fort Worth and Dallas homelessness do be raging. Which reminds me I may go revisit a homeless shelter for veterans in south Fort Worth, during thanksgiving if MHMR allows me to.
I’m rewatching this video cause I don’t all the routes to Dallas from my home city of Fort Worth. Cause I never drive to Dallas 😂 But this is nice to remember and watch and that I’m also moving back to Fort Worth here in a few weeks hopefully.
This was during Covid. Oct 2020 when it was uploaded. From 2020-2021 downtown Fort Worth was dead. Fort Worth is a major city. Most cities downtown are still trying to recover from Covid and the lockdown.
There’s nothing like Dallas I love my city ❤ From an OTR trucker. Ppl from Dallas don’t go to FW, but FW comes to Dallas 🤷🏾♂️ we’re just better!! Colleyville is beautiful as hell though!!!
@20:09, it's a miracle! Finally someone you can pass. The traffic moves at about 85+mph here. @24:06 the girlfriend lives 2 miles off to the right here and me, about 6 miles off to the right. @25:17 what you can't see is the Dallas Cowboys stadium, the Texas Rangers ballpark and 6 Flags Over Texas on the right hand side. @27:08 Six Flags pops into view. This freeway was once a toll road. It paid itself off and the officials dismantled it, keeping their word to do so. When the new census is tabulated, this area will come in at 8 million. This must have been video'd on a Sunday seeing the lack of traffic and folks walking around Dallas. Reason they're not there, is that they all live in suburbs of Dallas 20-50 miles out. @53:20 this is the Deep Ellum section where all the bun headed boys hang out.
Downtown Dallas is so dead and it’s big downtown. But nothing going on. Downtown Fort Worth is smaller but is so much better. Dallas is basically east Fort Worth : )

I’ve been gone from Fort Worth for 6 years and just driving in it when I go to visit family. I have to relearn the speed limits it has even tho some are 65 but sometimes it drops to like 55 or 50 in an instant. And I have to remember all the back roads I used to take back in high school. But I’m moving back to Fort Worth cause my best friend wants me back and I miss visiting my Thai grandma who’s like 80 or 90 years old, and I miss going to the Thai temple. At that temple I’m well known I’m part Thai and everyone there even the monks knows me cause of my grandparents.
Nah, we were so far apart when they were founded back in the mid 1800's Fort Worth was an Army frontier outpost that became a literal Cow Town where we did cattle drives up to Chicago way up north on the Chisholm trail before the railroad came through. Dallas was just a little more wet and got more green so Fort Worth is just enough west where it is just that arid enough to only be suited for cattle and then oil was discovered in the 1920's and the city really exploded. Now Fort Worth and Dallas have grown into 1 large expanse. We still have really different identities, and a bit of rivalry but for the most part we love and tolerate each other due to our shared histories. Also they literally span 2 different counties, so not exactly possible to make as 1 city when each has it's own discernible skyline separated from the other by over roughly 30 miles or 50km. You can see how damn long it takes to drive from Fort Worth to Dallas even though we are literally so close haha. Traffic makes it take damn near 1 hour! No way you can combine the 2 into 1 city. Also the many other cities that are between the 2 would have a problem with that I am sure. Fort Worth is more stereotypically Texan than Dallas too, more laid back and less busy than they are.
