What's sad from where the person is filming from from that bridge, that you can no longer see over the side of the bridge crossing the line, and not just at Springs Branch but at every other road overbridge and even at some stations. They started to rebrick the bridges to stop anyone peering over the side, and this is not about safety but about restricting people. There's nothing wrong with watching a passing train from a bridge, something we used to take for granted, but now "you can't do that, it's for your safety". Sorry for that is bullshit. They will come out with any old excuse like it's to stop vandals and people being antisocial, just makes me laugh. Used to go to Springs Branch many times with my dad in the 90s with the dogs and park up along the dirt road next to the track, spending time outdoors for free watching a few diesels, DMUs and electrics, no prison style fences around and no knobhead power tripping little Hitler's in viz jakets wondering why you are there.

It is a sad sign of the times....I use a step ladder or just simple set of steps which can be awkward to transport but very useful on the day....best wishes and many thanks...Mark

Maybe it is to stop folk messing with 25,000 volts by dangling wires or other pranks ?

@@chorleyjeff Maybe, but we've had those overhead power lines for a long time, decades, and they've never done that to the bridges untl fairly recently, all of a sudden it's now a safety issue. People aren't that stupid. And if they really wanted to dangle a wire then they could easily use something to stand on to look over.

@@chorleyjeff That is the usual reason and for people wishing to throw stuff from the bridge ? many thanks...Mark
