    I have the same boat and I love it, the wheels are great and these are way better than any kayak

      Its not too hard to change out, make sure you save the base the only thing you will discarding will be the plastic chair.

    Those twist open containers built in are made to let water out because water inside is always a problem. Open the container and pull out the bag and turn it over to drain out and dry out the inside of your Bass Hunter.

      I have one of these, no holes in the boat, but hull gets lots of water inside. I dont know where its getting in other than factory rivets or the screw off compartment lids. The boat has not been in water yet, this is just from rain.

    Hi, great video, you gave me some great ideas. I have had my Bass Baby for 2 years and really enjoy it. I fish on a 35 acre lake and a 505 acre lake here in Maryland. I have gotten 6 Scotty rod holders, 2 power locks and 4 of the Baitcaster/S;pinning. I also put the Scotty Anchor mount on the back and waiting for my Scotty Transducer mount to come today. I will post a video when I get it finished. Again thanks for the great ideas, enjoyed all 3 of your videos.

      +Rick Brown Thanks,505 acres man that's a big lake. Let me know how that scotty transducer mount works. Also let me know when you get those videos up and I will check them out. And thanks again for that awesome comment.

      Will do, I am also anxious to see how the Bullnose Rudders work,, I put on the front and back trolling motor, see link, bullnoseproducts.com/rudder/ Hope it helps my Bass Baby from rotating when sitting still on those windy day. I will be sure to let you know also how they work, Something you may be interested in. May be a while though , had 10 inch of snow yesterday.

      +Rick Brown I like those rudders, i think i might get one. Let me know how well it works.

      Bass Baby has pontoon type design on it's hull. It doesn't need a rudder to properly track or stop skidding.
      I have never had any of these issues with my Bass Baby. If you think about the weight of the mass of water that is between the pontoons when they are submerged this will become clear. Hunter got it right with the Bass Baby design.

    Really like the way you have those rod holders mounted. I am very interested in this boat, have been researching it for past couple of months. Do you carry it on a trailer, or do you slide in the back of a pick-up truck? Hope you can show some on the water videos this spring.

    • @goodtimesports1284
      @goodtimesports1284  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +JimmyCricket61258 Thanks, right now I haul it in the back of my truck. But i did buy a cheap harbor freight 4 x 8 trailer only because i have a bad leg and the trailer sits 10" lower than my truck so it should be easier for me to load by my self. I'm saving up to buy some go-pro cameras hopefully i will have them soon so I can make more videos on the water. Thanks for watching

    Love your videos, been doing research and your videos are helping tremendously. About to pull the trigger on one in the next few days. Can you tell me the height from the floor of the bout to the chair frame?? I want to purchase a water tight crate/tub to put my tackle in so that it can stay protected from water. Tub I was looking at is 15 inches tall. Thanks!

      Sorry for the late response, To slide under the seats it would need to be 10" or less High and 19" or less Wide. i hope this helps, let me know if you have any more questions i will be happy to help thanks.

    Hey I really like your rod holder modifications. I have a question - do you think it is possible to install a generic bimini top on one of these?

    • @goodtimesports1284
      @goodtimesports1284  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the complement, I think you could modify the boat and Bimini top to fit together. BUT i advise Caution on a couple of things, first be careful where you drill holes and second the boat is so lite that i would be cautious on windy days. That being said, if you are determined to do it despite the dangers. I would first measure the boat and the Bimini top to see if it will work BEFORE purchase. Plan it out first, you may have to make some custom parts. I have seen some paddle boats with Bimini tops, you might be able to use one of the pelican paddle boat bimini tops. Let me know how it goes or if you just need me to measure something on my boat. Good luck and thanks again for the comment.

      goodtimesports - LOL "determined to do it despite the dangers" - it's like you've known me all my life!
      That's good advice. I'm going to start by adding the modular kayak strip that you added and take it from there. I may be back in touch! Thanks again!

    hello, do you know the Scotty part # for the mounts? I can't find them. Also, did you use bolts with nuts on the end to secure the mount? It doesn't seem like the plastic would hold just regular stainless steel screws. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer. I love your vids.

      For the Scotty mount this is the part number on amazon 0241-BK . As far as mounting them i did use bolts washer and lock nuts.I hope this helps .Thanks you for the comment.

    im considering the 10ft 2016 model... any thoughts?
    how does it compare to the sun dolphin models?

    • @goodtimesports1284
      @goodtimesports1284  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I spoke to the owner of bass hunter boats last year and he told me there was going to be a bass baby 10 ft model.. I have not seen it yet but i'm sure it will be good. let me know were it is listed and the name. As for the comparison of the bass hunter vs the sun dolphin, I personally prefer the bass hunter boat because it is rotational molded meaning it all one piece, the other reason is when i was looking at the different types and models i noticed that the plastic on the bass hunter seemed thicker and more rugged ..... but i will say that you should get what you can afford. In some respects anything that will float and gets you to the fish will work. I hope this helps, thank for the comment. Tight Lines

    Considering getting on of these for it's portability. Could you please tell me how stable it is for standing in while fishing. I'll be using it mostly on calm pond waters.

    • @goodtimesports1284
      @goodtimesports1284  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, they are stable. well about as stable as a little boat can be. But to answer your question on calm waters, yes you can stand and fish with no problem. Thanks for your comment.

  • @lisao9677
    @lisao9677 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I just bought a Bass Baby boat. I'll be keeping it at a public lake. It will be secured with a chain and a padlock. I'll be running the chain through the front handles of the boat. Obviously from a security standpoint the handles would be the easiest for a thief to cut through. I admire your mods to your boat and I thought maybe you might have an idea as to how to beef up the handles that the chain will be running through for theft protection. I realize nothing is full proof but the more I can deter a thief or slow down a thief the better. BTW, I'm using a beefy Abus 3/8" security chain and a beefy Abus padlock. I would appreciate any ideas you might have.

    • @goodtimesports1284
      @goodtimesports1284  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well the chain and padlock sound beefy enought, but if a thief really wants it they will find a way. Try to refrain from altering your boat too much...I think using the built in handles is a good idea , as for beefing them up the only thing I can think of is adding metal to the handles but that is easier said then done. Thinking about it I would attach a flat bar steel to the front of the handle and through bolt it to the inside of the boat with washer and nuts make sure the metal is longer than the handle and use lots of silicon. I wouldn't use more than two bolts just to minimize the number of holes, also if you do through bolt it make sure you can reach the bolts from the inside before you drill the holes. At least this way it will be harder for them cut the handle off. If power is available I would definitely try using a security light. Also you can scratch your name on the boat in a area that is not noticeable...that way if someone did steal it and you see one that looks like yours you can check to see if it is yours just by making small talk. And then contact the proper authorities and show them the proof. Or at the least you will know who has your boat. One more thing if you do put your name on it and it does get stolen let the police know that it has your name on it and where so that way it is in the police report. I hope this helps, thanks for the comment.

      The sticker says 2 persons or 400 lb / 475 lb persons, motor, gear, / 2.0 H.P. motor. If you skip to 8:05 on the video i show a close up of the sticker. Thank you for the comment.

    Hey again. What brand anchor lift is that? Hard to find the one that fits on BB skinny gunwale. Thanks!

    • @goodtimesports1284
      @goodtimesports1284  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is Scotty brand, and the anchor is a 3 lb yak gear. I would suggest maybe going with two anchors or a trolley system with a clothes line reel. By the way hows the trolling motor idea going, i'm really interested in seeing how it comes out also video record it so you can post it on you tube.

      goodtimesports awesome thank you! Sorry for delayed response, I was out crappie hunting all day (caught 30, plus 3 bass, 1 chain pik, and 1 bluegill!). I'll return the other one.
      Rethinking the motor. It's do expensive, and there are so many other questions, I decided to get a comparatively inexpensive transom mount and take it from there.
      Meanwhile, putting in (your) rod holders, and waiting for motor to come. I'll post pix, and think about how to do a decent video at some point. - Liza

      Well it sounds like you had a good day fishing. A simple setup is probably the best way to go even though the other was really cool. Oh cool your doing the same setup for the rod holders nice, just dont forget to use stainless steel bolts, nuts, and washers and use a little silicone. good luck

    • @goodtimesports1284

      yes, that was the whole reason I bought it was so i can take out my buddy who is a disabled vet. We have been out a bunch of times with no problems. Although I do go out by my self some times, and its just as fun. It does start to get a little tight if you a lot of junk just limit how much stuff you bring, i put a crate under my seat and it hold every thing i need for that day you have to get creative. hope this helps

    Yes, did you ever get water in the boat when fishing?

    • @goodtimesports1284
      @goodtimesports1284  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I installed a bilge pump for just that reason. On one occasion I had a friend and a lot of gear in the boat and we were traveling up wind on a large lake, so it was kinda choppy. The waves kept crashing over the bow and filled the boat half way up with water luckily i had big yellow sponge to sop up the water . Also on another occasion i forgot to put the drain plug back in, and was half way across the lake when i realized the boat was filling up with water. But i stuffed it with a sock and kept going. So my advice would be a large yellow sponge and a bilge pump. Your on the water and some times its going to get in the boat. good luck. I hope this helps

      Ronnie Hogan Well for the most part i stay pretty dry. The only time water comes in the boat is when the wind is strong and you are going against the waves or if you hit some big boat waves. But then again that would happen in almost any personal water craft. you should check out my other video bass hunter boat update at the end of the video i was traveling into same strong wind and choppy wave.
