Aside from the beauty of the video and the same issues that are dealt with around the world, this particular American enjoys the accent and vocabulary of the people. Sometimes I chuckle over it, as I am sure a New Zealander wold chuckle over my accent and vocabulary. Beautiful video, beautiful people- loved the guy on the "punt" who claimed to be the dear thing about the river crossing. Good luck and peace to all of you "down there". If I ever become wealthy I would like to visit. If ever...

Don't wait, go as soon as you can. Having visitetd a couple of years ago I am counting the days till I can get back to NZ. If I could I would be living there now.

I hope some of the viewers of this great doco, can join in the campaigns, to limit, or halt, the unnatural irrigation & damn dam projects. Power to the recreational enthusiasts and nature loving freaks, born before, or after, we were told to 'think big' ... My Dad was shipped to Central Otago, when I was three, along with my Mum, myself and my two sisters, working for the M.o.W., we stayed only a couple of years, before shifting up to the mighty Waikato. I remember my time in Cromwell, the school, the church, the outdoors (esp. a river fishing trip, under the bridge, that day ... ) and Central fondly. Close to where my Mother's family farmed, high country stylers, breaking ice, in the name of merino, upland from Lake Wanaka ;-)

When he mentioned the mines of Moria, I expected a "free the river" quote along in there somewhere... I think that world wide we will be condemned for damning our rivers in the future.

Newzealand is more like European in geography,
While Australia is just very warm and hot
