I’m a 74 year old Aussie,I’ve had Johns music in my life for more than fifty years.John sings everything from Rock to Opera,He’s known as The Voice in Australia. He’s loved and respected like no other.John interacts with his Audience like no other. He’s performed with many Artists Around the world including many Americans who have come out here. When John Lennon heard Johns rendition,he was reported as saying that’s the way they wanted it performed. Thanks for the great reaction,I promise you if you continue reacting to JF you won’t be disappointed. What you Just Witnessed is John giving one hundred percent as he does in every performance. That song was Johns first or second encore.
@@Rob_D74 Lennon passed away December 1980, It was June of that year that Farnham performed 'Help' for the Queen at the Royal Charity Concert - so 5 or 6 months before John Lennon was killed,
Please do more John. It is a magical rabbit hole for you to dive into. He will rock you, soothe you, amaze you... but most of all, fill you up with joy. I'm a proud Aussie, and this man is the greatest!
Welcome to the world of John Farnham. He is a legend in Australia. He has been in the top of our charts for over 50 years. He started as a teen idol back in 1967 and he's been wowing us ever since. He was king of Pop in Aus for 5 consecutive years from '69 and into the 70's. In the early to mid 80's he was the lead singer of the Little River Band. And from 86 till today he has been an adult contempory artist who can literally sing any genre and belong right there. From Hard Rock, to Pop Rock, Pop, Country, R&B, Jazz, Soul, Comedy, Musical Theatre, even Opera. He sings the sweetest ballads and nails Rock like you wouldn't beleive. He was still singing in his 70's with as much power and in the same key as he did in his 30's and 40's. Check out his most famous song YOU'RE THE VOICE Live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra PLEASE DON'T ASK ME a duet with his beautiful freind, Olivia Newton John WHEN SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH MY BABY, duet with another one of his great freinds Jimmy Barnes. His Awesome cover of ACDC'S IT'S A LONG WAY TO THE TOP. That's a few good ones to get you started. Once you start reacting to JF the Aussies will turn up in droves as we all love him so much ❤❤❤
Carolyn, You forgot to mention 'Nursery Rhymes, can't leave out 'Old MacDonald' (other then that, I agree with all you said) 😊 th-cam.com/video/ohA69mjXx50/w-d-xo.html
Thanks heaps for reacting to this. John is known as the voice down under. He is such a wonderful man and one of the greatest singers ever. He is a powerhouse, please continue reacting to more Farnsey
One of a kind, unique, the greatest - a celestial being sharing the love. The gift of music; young or old, rich or poor - it has no boundaries. This rendition follows a full concert and ends John's 2nd encore. It's a different interpretation but the two Johns had the same message - help me when I'm feeling down, help me get my feet back on the ground. It's not rocket science; help and care for each other - that's love. Love you John, we're with you the whole damn way in this valley of tears. Who said life is easy!!
This version is John's own arrangement which came about from him working out how to play the original on piano. John released it on an album in 1980, it's been around a long time in Australia, we're definitely used to both versions. Tina Turner heard it and did this version live herself.
Hi Aussie Army. Love our John. He is the absolute G.O.A.T. and the kindest, humblest man who gives 200 percent in every performance. Just loves performing, loves his band, respectscall those around him and loves his audience and fans. Youll have so many new subscribers from Australia if you keep going down this rabbit hole. ❤❤❤
As Aussie here from John Farnham's home city of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. John is the GOAT in Australia and world-wide. He has a huge, gymnastic vocal range, singing in over 20 genres with a l-o-n-g career of six decades and many top hits and top albums. He is an extremely charismatic and consummate showman. Never look away from his performance as you'll miss something. He is very well-loved in Australia, not just for his music but also for his humble, happy, sincere personality. John gives to charity through his concerts. He especially gives to his audiences because when he sings his Soul shines out in loving joy to us. John sings many songs of messages for the greater good in/for the world. You would love to see and hear John and his brilliant singers and band members' cover of Stevie Wonder's song, 'Love's In Need', done in a capella style, live in concert. ALWAYS choose live performances of John in concert as his energy is extraordinary !
You've got 6 decades of experience to investigate. He is an ICON in the Australian Music Industry. John Farnham started in 1967 and was still performing into his 70s until Covid shut the country down. He won "King of Pop" 5 consecutive years 69 -73, then faded a bit in the late 70s (due to poor management). John is the only Australian artist to have a number-one record (album or single) in five consecutive decades. He has received the admiration of many international artists, such as Richard Marx, Celine Dion, Robbie Williams, Tom Jones, Freddie Mercury. Brian May, Sammy Davis Jnr, Ray Charles, just to name a few. I'll drop a few links to give you a taste and warn you if you start reacting to John, the Aussie Army will flood your channel. LOL if you decide to go exploring, make sure you only watch "Live" performances, he loves his fans and millions of us love him back. He is the most down to earth person, humble, funny and extremely talented. John is one of the most versatile vocalists you can find, he can sing just about any genre. He replaced Glen Sherrock as frontman for LRB for a time in the early eighties. I am an Aussie in my laye 60's and have been a fan of John Farnham from his beginnings. I have seen him perform LIVE. I was still smiling a week later. Once you start going down the rabbit hole you can't stop. John has performed with many well known people (Tom Jones, Olivia Newton John and Celine Dion just to name a few). John and Olivia were friends for 50 years. John was very upset he couldn't go to her funeral as he was dealing with his own health issue (cancer) at the time. We all know deep down he will never perform on stage again, but we hope. John is best served LIVE. Its a long way to the top Please don't ask me - Olivia Newton John When the war is over You're The Voice - Melbourne Symphony Orchestra If you can find it (Saddie The Cleaning Lady). John teases the crowd.
I'm an aussie and john farnham is very much loved by us....a national treasure. i highly recommend another song he performed at the same concert and that is "ÿou are the voice". It is really amazing and I'm sure you will love it.
You might want to look up his Voice with Melbourne symphony orchestra from the same concert You would probably like his amazing grace song look up John Farnham and venetta fields singing amazing grace He sings this with two of his back up singers You'll get alot of Aussie's / Australia's I'm one John was labled the voice here as he can sing almost any genre rock blues Ballard's opera theatre ect ect Many collaboration with international entertainer's he very loved around the world in the industry Which is amazing as didn't leave our shores much because wanted his kids to have a stable environment growing up and no travelling the world Cheers guys 🦘🇦🇺👍
If you watch his live performances you will see his love for his band members and backing vocalists. He respects their contribution and many stayed with him for years
It's a well known fact that John Lennon actually said he preferred John Farnham's version to the Beatles'. He said when he wrote the song it was a cry for help and he really didn't like the up beat "preppy" way the Beatles were made to record it. If you really listen to the words, they're pretty sad. I saw a documentary on John Lennon where he sang a slow version of Help just with the piano. He was in his New York apartment, not long before he died. RIP John Lennon.❤
I've read about that, John really wanted it to be a slow song more of a ballad, but he was told it had to be faster for the movie. I read that John was writing about himself, that he was depressed and really needed help.
The Beatles wrote it and released Help. John fixed it and John Lennon said so. Once you start to react to John Aussies just appear. He is humble, kind and sweet. He is our Legend and known as the Voice. Anything John sings is amazing but it has to be live. He can sing everything including Opera. John taught me that backup singers and every person who works with him has a name and are all equally important. Over the years everyone on that stage has become his and our family, including his real family. He has had many American, British and more famous artists come to sing and work with him. I don’t think he ever knew he is famous and you will find him giving his time at every charity concert or Carols By Candlelight on Christmas Eve. John is a really good person. Thank you.
Farnsey was on morning tv today. Photos of him at his sons wedding were shown, the old rocker looked pretty darn good. As usual. John should be on the new bank notes when we go Republic. We have had our Queen, time now for The King of Pop. Long live the King. 👑🎶
Freddie Mercury said John had one of the best voices he’d ever heard! Our boy has sung with the likes of Tom Jones, Celine Dion (she’s a huge fan!), Ray Charles and more. The man is a legend. Thanks for reacting love from 🇦🇺 🐨
You have no orders how amazing John's voice is. He is adored here in Australia and is known as "The Voice". When he wrote his version of Help he had permission from John Lennon to do so. Lennon also told our John that the way John sang it is was the way he wanted it. But the producers stopped him. He can sing anything from hard rock to the most beautiful ballads. Hear him sing with the late Olivia Newton John and you will hear perfection. They have been best friends forever. He is 75 now and has just beaten cancer of the jaw. Australia held its breath praying for him. Please enjoy his talent. He is also the kindest man ever. Only ever listen to his live concerts there's heaps on You Tube. Cheers.
@@markje4 John sent tapes of We Will Rock You after Queen’s management sent him some backing files - he sang to the files, sent them back over and unfortunately (or fortunately for us!) he didn’t get the job. John expressed this in an interview with Vox studios. He said the experience was nonetheless an honour.
great song choice, but I prefer the longer extended clip better, have you seen it ? - th-cam.com/video/yzUK1roF4Sw/w-d-xo.html - starts with the boy soprano singing and ends with a kiss... have a good day..
John Lennon himself stated this was how the song "Help" was supposed to be sung at pertaining to 'tempo' as it was a plea for help. Their managers said 'no it has to be peppy'.. John Farnham is an Australian icon, with hits dating back to the late 60's early 70's. He has just undergone surgery for mouth cancer and had to have part of his lower jaw removed. He has successfully gone through Chemo and recently attended his sons' wedding. Please look to more John Farnham videos. He was best friends with Olivia Newton John and was devastated by her passing. LOOK FOR 'PLEASE DON'T ASK ME' Duet by John and Olivia. Their love is apparent through purely plutonic.
I'm a 59 year old kiwi, was just asked today who my favourite singer was, and I answered John Farnham. Then I got in my car and listened to his c.d. His cd, Anthology, has a lot of his best songs.
I was there. This was probably 91, 92 or so. This was the second encore of a two and a half hour show. Thirty years later it's still the most memorable performance I've seen. He's a legend in Australia. Had throat cancer recently so his singing days are probably over. Massive talent. One of the greatest Australian music has ever produced.
Try , In Days To Come from him, or Gethsemans from the aussie cast, J C Superstar, sunday night last show in the 90's. John Lennon heard this arrangement, he wrote the song to be like this, but was forced to speed it up, as the album was fast and poppy.
I’ve been more than lucky enough to see John Farnham a couple of times. I’ve been listening to Johns music since the 70’s. He’s an Australian Icon and legend. Please enjoy the rabbit hole that is John Farnham. And please please check out Jimmy Barnes and Joe Bonnamasa song Stone Cold and also you’ll love the official music video of both John Farnham and Jimmy Barnes singing. Something is wrong with my baby. You’ll both love it. Jimmy Barnes is also an Australian Icon for over 5 decades. And thank you for enjoying watching our outstanding Australian musical artists. You’ve only scratched the surface.
The best live performance by an Australian artist that zi have ever seen was a young lady Vanessa Amarossi singing Hero’s live Forever at the opening of the 2,000 Sydney Olympics. Absolutely spectacular
This concert was advertised as John and his Big Band in typical Aussie understatement, it's a 100+ piece orchestra for crying out loud. lol This song is one of the last songs that he would sing at the end of the night after he had already sung his heart out for nearly 3 hours. Some have pointed out that this particular recording of the concert was closer to 2 hours of actual singing during the TV special, but it was also on the 4th or 5th night that he had sung like this. Either way, it was one of multiple nights that he did this on January 4-10, 1989, so his voice is still worthy of the accolades. Not many other singers can belt like that for even 2 or 3 nights without a rest. And besides picking at the exact details or this exact performance, Farnsey also has a way of getting deep into the emotions of your soul. A couple of songs worth checking have been mentioned below, plus these are worth a look also. The reason you haven't heard of him is because the US music industry is a closed little club. When John Farnham went to the US they didn't know which genre to put him in so his US promotions manager got him a couple of gigs in a little jazz club, where the MC introduced him as Jack Phantom. Couldn't even be bothered getting his name correct, so being a bit disheartened he wandered home to concentrate on his loyal fan base. The experience did give him inspiration to write a couple of good songs about missing his family, like this one. -Burn For You.. th-cam.com/video/4PPvOhPspEA/w-d-xo.html -Angels.. Notice how he holds the mike below his chest, both mikes are a metre away, which he does all the time to not drown out the other singers. JF with Lisa Edwards, a top singer in her own right, and one of John's back up singers for 20+ years. th-cam.com/video/5_2NJRIdBO8/w-d-xo.html -Amazing Grace.. To show the calibre of his other back up Singers, showing you have to be good in your own right, just like Lisa. This is Vanetta Fields and Lindsey Field. th-cam.com/video/_x6N94OEkZQ/w-d-xo.html -Please Don't Ask Me.. This one with Olivia Newton John, who we have recently lost. John has also had major cancer surgery including removal of part of his jaw and we may not hear him sing again. So let's enjoy this one as well.. th-cam.com/video/2uV_tZODfK8/w-d-xo.html -When Something Is Wrong With My Baby.... And even when he is singing with one of the most powerful voices on the planet, Jimmy Barnes, he still put the mike away from his face and closer to Jonny Diesel on guitar. th-cam.com/video/AU_bCchDWF4/w-d-xo.html Or this version. th-cam.com/video/RAlFHSPLHpo/w-d-xo.html -When The War Is Over… Possibly one of his greatest vocals. th-cam.com/video/lfWrXc5eN8g/w-d-xo.html -Or is the greatest. Gethsemane.. th-cam.com/video/k5woMZtClhI/w-d-xo.html -How about a mike test. He has the power and ability to distort microphones, amps, and get speaker stacks jumping. So this sort of setting up the venue test is a must. Lol Black Dog. th-cam.com/video/F2Yi6TVi-sU/w-d-xo.html Besides having the best voice ever, JF can adjust his tone, pitch, volume, to match the person he is singing with to either match them or sing just under them depending on who's the head line act, he will even back himself down when he is the head line to give others their moment to shine, and if my ears were sensitive enough, I wouldn't be surprised if he could vary his vibrato, timbre and all of those other things that voices can do so he could accentuate the other singers.
To give you an idea of his versatility check out his cover version of "Black Dog", there is only audio as he didn't perform it as his stage show but used it as a "warm up" if you can believe it. It's OUTSTANDING, and was recorded by an Audiotech prior to a performance.
In the same show John performed a song called 'Your the Voice,' it will blow your mind in my opinion and maybe in the opinion of a lot of other people. Great video, Cheers from South Australia.
John is known as The Voice in Australia, and he has the voice to sing everything for pop, rock to musical theatre. A great song to react to is "Please Don't Ask", he does a duet performance with Australia's Olivia Newton John from The Main Event Concert; he also does a cover of a 1966 Sam and Dave song When Something is Wrong With My Baby, with Australian rocker Jimmy Barnes from the 1991 ARIA(Australian Recording Industry Association) Awards.
If you TH-cam “John Lennon help demo” you will see that this was Lennons preferred tempo. It was the band as a whole that wanted to release the song upbeat. I like both versions, they are so far disconnected, they feel like different songs. Cheers from Down Under 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
John Farnham is a British born Australian singer, who started his career in 1968 as a teen pop idol known then as Johnny Farnham; in 1980, John first performed his version of The Beatles classic song Help at a Royal Variety Performance in front of Queen Elizabeth. When John Lennon was sent a copy of Farnham's version, he stated "that is how the song was meant to be sung"; although he apparently played John's version on his piano at his home, but he never recorded it due to his death later that year. This performance with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, is the best; this was an encore after a two plus hour concert, his hit You're The Voice from this concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra also as an encore. Welcome to one of Australia's top adult entertainers.
You may have heard of another one of John's songs You're the Voice. Best version is from this same concert . Im from Melbourne. I'm 68 and have listened to (and loved) John since I was about 12! And yes, I do know Jesus loves me and I love Him!
When Johnny Farnham first released his first solo track "Sadie the Cleaning Lady'' who'd have thought he would such a juggernaut in the Aussie music industry. I'm almost 10 years older than Rodney (comments) and never get sick of listening to John and the numerous other Aussie bands and artists who have come along, before (BJ) and after (AJ). Cheers nice reaction. You've just dug little way down the rabbit hole that is John Farnham. Have fun and don't forget to check out the other Aussie peformers, of which there are MANY>
This was the 1st encore song after a 2-3 hr concert. Any reactions to John Farnham, Jimmy Barnes, Cold Chisel should be live as their performances are a show in themselves. John can sing any genre from pop to opera
This version of Help was released just months before John Lennon was murdered. He got to hear it and stated that this was actually close to how he would have performed the song..... but the Beatles managers and other people made them do the fast version to fit the movie. So John Farnhams version has the approval and envy of John Lennon....... can't get better than that.
The song "You're The Voice" was released internationally in 1986, it didn't fair well in the United States; but BMG/RCA re-released it again in 1990 after Farnham made the Adult Contemporary charts with "Two Strong Hearts", You're The Voice spent 8 weeks on the charts peaking at #82.
The 2007 American movie Hot Rod has a riot scene where John Farnham's song You're The Voice is featured. The song was released in the 1980s and is still as popular as ever.
John Lennon heard John Farnham's version of Help and is on reocrd as stating John's version is the way he envisaged the song should be played and sung.
John wanted to learn this song on the piano but this was the fastest he could go, so he made recorded it like this and Paul McCartney himself said that this is how John Lennon intended it to sound originally, but the producers wanted it to sound boppy. It’s one of John’s most favourite songs at his concerts. I’m from Perth, Western Australia 🇦🇺You keep reacting to John Farnham songs, you’ll very quickly get lots and lots of new subscribers ❤ another great song is It’s a Long Way to The Top from the same concert.
Haha, love the Ferris Buller clip at the end. Very nostalgic 😅 Thanks for listening to John, he is so loved here is Australia. One of the most special performers and all around genuine nice guys you could come across. Please listen to more, you will not be disappointed. If you are into upbeat try Playing to Win or It's a Long Way To The Top If You Want To Rock and Roll from this same concert. If ballads are more your speed, Please Don't Ask Me with Olivia Newton-John from Th Main Event concert or Burn for You from his Chain Reaction concerts are my suggestions 😊
Thank you so much for your kind words and for your suggestions. We have added them to our list. Ferris Bueller's Day Off is one of my all-time favorite movies (Granda Wanda). Did you still around to the very end and see the Dead Pool twist?
Thank you for your reply 😊 I missed the Deadpool clip at the end the first time, but just watched it again to see it 😅 Ferris Buller's Day Off is my sister's favourite film so I have seen it many times. A true 80's classic. She knows every word! I hope you enjoy the suggestions for John Farnham and if you need any more info on them when searching, please let me know. It is know as the city of churches in Australia ❤ Thanks and have a great day 😊 @grandparentsreact
John Lennon said this is the way the song should be sung 🙂. John has a range of A2 to G5 ( which is huge) and he can sing anything. I'm from the Melbourne John mentioned. John is in his 70's now and has recently overcome mouth cancer. He is absolutely cherished in Australia. Have a listen to "You're the Voice" from the same concert.
John was Olivia Newton John's favourite singer and they often worked in Australia together. They did DARE TO DREAM together at the Sydney 2000 Olympics opening ceremony. John is one of Australia's favourite singers and has been for many years thereafter another song from John you should try listen to from the same concert the song is called your the voice
If you haven't already seen it I would check out Johns "Tour of Duty" concert, held in a run down almost derelict football stadium in Dili, East Timor when he and others came out (in time of conflict) to entertain the troops (Army, Navy and RAAF) on the ground, he, and everyone else who took part will never know the gratitude we felt!
Grandpa was a little taken aback by this very different performance of The Beatles song. It has been fun to hear all of the behind-the-scenes info about this song and John Lennon's thoughts about John Farnham's performance.
John Farnahm has so many great songs including with Olivia Newton John , John is from Australia and if you start going through his play list you will see how versatile he is
Aussie legend! Everything John touches turns into gold. You might want to check out When The War Is Over, Playing To Win and Touch Of Paradise to name a few.
John Lennon actually heard John do this before he died and he said he wrote it to be performed just the way John did it but the Beatles record company insisted it had to be done in Pop style as that was the trend of the moment.
I grew up with the Beatles too, and for a while I also preferred the Beatles version. But NOT ANYMORE, this just has so much feeling in it that the original lacks. You can feel the need for HELP. I also grew up in the 60's but didn't hear John's version till some time in the 90's.
Great reaction to a fantastic singer John from down under. May I recommend another wonderful singer from the UK 20 year old Lucy Thomas. She's just released a brand new video of the classic song "Unchained Melody" I guarantee you'll both love her.
As a Beatles fan and also John Farnham fan , Johns version is way better. The lyrics in the song are about the singer asking for Help. Johns passion and emotion, on the delivery was spot on. The Beatles version, was a fast rock version and the cry for help was lost in the delivery.
You are exactly right. Neither of us thought of the Beatles version in the same way. John's version actually makes more sense. Thank you for watching with us.
John is absolute Australian music royalty. He is THE voice second to none. He made this song his own and even John Lennon himself said he preferred this version it’s how it was intended but producers put a pop twist on it. Sadly I found your reaction of our number one superstar John very underwhelming.
If you think about it, The Beatles version of this was way too upbeat for the theme of the song… a cry for help. In fact, John Lennon said this was more like what he had in mind for the song.
May I humbly suggest for your own entertainment that you reaact to "Thirsty Merc " ( named after an old Mercedes Benz they got around in that ate the gas!) and a song called "twenty good reasons" I think you might enjoy it - especially the words. Thank you. I am Australian
We will be reacting to more John Farnham videos soon. Be careful that you don't accidentally stumble onto one of them or you may get a different opinion of us.
I just went back and looked at our video, and I do see a couple of times when it appeared that way. At one point, I was checking the app on my phone the controls the camera we use to record ourselves (trying to make sure we had pleanty of battery to finish the reaction video), and then later I was looking at the computer on my lap that controls the video we are watching and reacting to. None of that hindered me listening to the song, but we always welcome constructive criticism. If you watch more of our videos, you can probably find more mistakes - LOL.
I think the more we explore John Farnham, we may begin to think so as well. We will need to re-listen to his version in the future. Thank you for watching with us.
We like going in completely blind on our first reaction to an artist. So many of our viewers are so kind to come into our comments and give us more information.

Slight correction Rodney it was Paul not John that made the comment. John pased away before Farnsie started doing this version of the song.
Thank you so much for watching with us and sharing all this great information.
@@Rob_D74 Lennon passed away December 1980, It was June of that year that Farnham performed 'Help' for the Queen at the Royal Charity Concert - so 5 or 6 months before John Lennon was killed,
Yeah, I think it was the second.

Check out his most famous song
YOU'RE THE VOICE
Live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra
PLEASE DON'T ASK ME a duet with his beautiful freind, Olivia Newton John
WHEN SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH MY BABY, duet with another one of his great freinds Jimmy Barnes.
His Awesome cover of ACDC'S IT'S A LONG WAY TO THE TOP.

This particular night it ends the first encore. Sadie and It's a Long Way to the Top round out the second encore and, of course, the night.
Thank you so much for watching with us and for your comments.

I believe the Beatles record label wouldn’t let them sing a slow version even though as you said John Lennon wanted it performed & recorded that way.
It was reportedly Paul McCartney that said that,
Thank you for watching with us and for sharing this information.
That's right. There is far more depth of feeling this way. The faster pace of the Beatles original did not convey the grief the song expresses.
Thank you.

Cheers.
Queen asked John to come on board after Freddie Mercury died, but John didn’t want to take on touring obligations with a young family.
@@markje4 John sent tapes of We Will Rock You after Queen’s management sent him some backing files - he sang to the files, sent them back over and unfortunately (or fortunately for us!) he didn’t get the job. This concert was advertised as John and his Big Band in typical Aussie understatement, it's a 100+ piece orchestra for crying out loud. lol
This song is one of the last songs that he would sing at the end of the night after he had already sung his heart out for nearly 3 hours.

Besides having the best voice ever, JF can adjust his tone, pitch, volume, to match the person he is singing with to either match them or sing just under them depending on who's the head line act, he will even back himself down when he is the head line to give others their moment to shine, and if my ears were sensitive enough, I wouldn't be surprised if he could vary his vibrato, timbre and all of those other things that voices can do so he could accentuate the other singers.
Thank you so much for all of this information. We have added your suggestions to our list.
To give you an idea of his versatility check out his cover version of "Black Dog", there is only audio as he didn't perform it as his stage show but used it as a "warm up" if you can believe it. It's OUTSTANDING, and was recorded by an Audiotech prior to a performance.

Thank you for watching with us and sharing this information. We have added that song to our list.
John Lennon heard John Farnham's version of Help and is on reocrd as stating John's version is the way he envisaged the song should be played and sung.
Thank you for watching with us and for sharing this information.
John Farnham reacts. perfection. he sings every genre!!!. there is about 50 years of content and your subscribers and watch list has just doubled 😂
We are looking forward to exploring more of his music.
Thank you for watching with us. We have added your suggestions to our list.
Thank you for your reply 😊 I missed the Deadpool clip at the end the first time, but just watched it again to see it 😅
Ferris Buller's Day Off is my sister's favourite film so I have seen it many times. A true 80's classic. She knows every word!
I hope you enjoy the suggestions for John Farnham and if you need any more info on them when searching, please let me know. Forgot to mention in my previous comment that I am from Adelaide in South Australia if you wish to add it to your long list of countries/cities.
Thank you for this information and for your suggestion. We have added it to our list.
@@grandparentsreact Oh good 👍 You'll enjoy what he does with the microphone stand😁

Fine review by a fine, appreciative lady and a guy, who I thought had just died. LOL. I'm a grandparent too but take my happy pills every day. 🙂
Your comment sure brought Grandpa back to life. Got us laughing over here! Thank you for watching.
When he heard it, John Lennon actually said that this was the way he wanted it performed.
Thanks for that cool information.
John was Olivia Newton John's favourite singer and they often worked in Australia together. They did DARE TO DREAM together at the Sydney 2000 Olympics opening ceremony. John and Liv had a similar history. Live born in 1948 and him in 1949 and both emigrated to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia when children. Both started on Melbourne TV about the same time and John was the King of Pop in 1967 for the song SADIE THE CLEANING LADY when he was 18: th-cam.com/video/eZeRmpvCjEw/w-d-xo.html As for DARE TO DREAM: th-cam.com/video/NwIfmS-Pml0/w-d-xo.html You will love this 2.5 hours of John, Liv and our Phantom of the Opera star Anthony Warlow in a concert called the Main Event: th-cam.com/video/qd-USQDe9dg/w-d-xo.html
This is WHEN SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH MY BABY with John and our former King of Rock Jimmy Barnes: th-cam.com/video/AU_bCchDWF4/w-d-xo.html Here is YOU'RE THE VOICE (same concert as with HELP): th-cam.com/video/6m2m_9Uijso/w-d-xo.html Regarding the style of HELP that you like, you might like to know that John Lennon had heard John's version and loved it more and said he would have wanted their version to be like that but they were under management orders to go the way they did.
This is his rendition with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra of IT'S A LONG WAY TO THE TOP IF YOU WANT TO ROCK AND ROLL by another Aussie group AC/DC. Same concert as HELP. th-cam.com/video/73X_z_zW4Sg/w-d-xo.html
Here is Celine Dion and John singing together in 2018: th-cam.com/video/UxWdqk1Suac/w-d-xo.html John had said no to Mariah Carey and yes to singing with Celine. John also was for a short time the lead singer in the group The Little River Band and he did play with them in America on tour. At the time his good friend ONJ died he had a massive cancer scare and lost part of his jaw. He is doing fine now but obviously his concert days are no longer happening. This was 4 days ago: th-cam.com/video/atGMV5bHYBA/w-d-xo.html Here is a hour concert with Tom Jones and him (the 2 best singers in the world, some say): th-cam.com/video/tyfZDPbSktg/w-d-xo.html
Thank you so much for all this great information, and for the suggestions. We have added them to our list.
Thanks for your reaction,I actually like this version better than the Beatles version. It conveys so much more depth and emotion
Yes, when you think about the words, his version makes more sense. Thank you for watching with us.
John is one of Australia's favourite singers and has been for many years thereafter another song from John you should try listen to from the same concert the song is called your the voice
Thank you for watching with us. We have added your suggestion to our list.
There is no comparison between the versions...John hands down🤣🙏❤️🥰
So different, but such a good rendition. He is so talented.
John Farnham ❤ say no more!!!
Thank you for watching and for commenting.
As a youngster of 70 i applaud yuu guys for doing a public service and trying to make a few bucks to supplement your retirement . Well done/
Thank you for watching and for the encouragement.
Is there a particular song/video that you would like to see us react to? Also, thank you for your service.
John doing You're the Voice - it's brilliant
Yes it is. Here is a link to our video where we have already reacted. th-cam.com/video/PNxPQNh-16M/w-d-xo.html
This Aussie has also just subscribed to. Thank You
Thank you so much!
One grandparent was open to the song (nodding, arms open, positive comments) while the other was closed, defensive & negative.
Grandpa was a little taken aback by this very different performance of The Beatles song. It has been fun to hear all of the behind-the-scenes info about this song and John Lennon's thoughts about John Farnham's performance.
Its the encore at the end of 2 hour concert. John Lennon complimented John Farnhams version - said thats how he wrote it.
Thank yoiu for watching and for sharing this information with us.
John Farnahm has so many great songs including with Olivia Newton John , John is from Australia and if you start going through his play list you will see how versatile he is
We are looking forward to reacting to more of his music.
Subscribed niw you have discovered John Farnham
Thanks so much. There will be more reactions to his music to come.
Aussie legend! Everything John touches turns into gold. You might want to check out When The War Is Over, Playing To Win and Touch Of Paradise to name a few.
Thank you for these suggestions. We have added them to our list.
Songing the ballad style we could hear the words and the meanings.
This is so true. The meaning of this song became so clear with this version. Thank you for watching and commenting.
John Lennon actually heard John do this before he died and he said he wrote it to be performed just the way John did it but the Beatles record company insisted it had to be done in Pop style as that was the trend of the moment.
It makes such a difference in how we felt about the song. Thank you so much for sharing this information.
He is an entertainer , that's why he is loved . Ps Melbourne is his home town .
Thank you for watching and sharing this information.
Never liked the Beatles version of this song, but love John’s,he is the Goat.Go down the John Farnham rabbit hole!you want be disappointed
Thank you so much for watching and for the encouragement.
Check out john with jimmy barnes singing When something is wrong with my baby from the show Hey hey its Saturday
Thank you for this suggestion. We have added it to our list.
@archer8597 we may surprise you.
I grew up with the Beatles too, and for a while I also preferred the Beatles version. But NOT ANYMORE, this just has so much feeling in it that the original lacks. You can feel the need for HELP. I also grew up in the 60's but didn't hear John's version till some time in the 90's.
Yes, this was so different, but so good. Thank you for your comments.
John Farnham doing ACDC Its a long way to the top
Thank you for this suggestion. We have added it to our list.
Great reaction to a fantastic singer John from down under. May I recommend another wonderful singer from the UK 20 year old Lucy Thomas. She's just released a brand new video of the classic song "Unchained Melody" I guarantee you'll both love her.
Thank you so much for the encouragement. We have added your suggestion to our list.
The start of this video has him doing Help the way the Beatles recorded it…

As a Beatles fan and also John Farnham fan , Johns version is way better.
The lyrics in the song are about the singer asking for Help.
Johns passion and emotion, on the delivery was spot on.
The Beatles version, was a fast rock version and the cry for help was lost in the delivery.
You are exactly right. Neither of us thought of the Beatles version in the same way. John's version actually makes more sense. Thank you for watching with us.
Check out his performance of Gethsemane
Thank you for your suggestion. We have added it to our list.
John is absolute Australian music royalty. He is THE voice second to none. He made this song his own and even John Lennon himself said he preferred this version it’s how it was intended but producers put a pop twist on it. Sadly I found your reaction of our number one superstar John very underwhelming.
We plan to react to more of John Farnham's music. Hopefully, you will enjoy those reactions better. Thank you for watching with us.
If you think about it, The Beatles version of this was way too upbeat for the theme of the song… a cry for help. In fact, John Lennon said this was more like what he had in mind for the song.
Thank you for watching with us and for sharing this information.
Ricky looks like Kyle Sandilands Australian disc jockey
Yes, we can see that. LOL.
May I humbly suggest for your own entertainment that you reaact to "Thirsty Merc " ( named after an old Mercedes Benz they got around in that ate the gas!) and a song called "twenty good reasons" I think you might enjoy it - especially the words. Thank you. I am Australian
Thank you for this suggestion. We have added it to our list.
You just heard one of the best voices ever and sat there hardly raising a murmur. Sorry, not coming back.
We will be reacting to more John Farnham videos soon. Be careful that you don't accidentally stumble onto one of them or you may get a different opinion of us.
It looked like you were reading your phone more than listening to the song.

Confused why Kyle Sandilands is reacting to this?
LOL. We love this. Kyle is a handsome dude.
Much better than the Beatles 🤪
I think the more we explore John Farnham, we may begin to think so as well. We will need to re-listen to his version in the future. Thank you for watching with us.
99.9% of reaction video posters don’t do any research. It would be refreshing to come across some expertise, just once in a while.
We like going in completely blind on our first reaction to an artist. So many of our viewers are so kind to come into our comments and give us more information.
