Not really, MBA is already vey hectic plus your CV gets made 1-2 months after you join and that is used for summer placement. You can build skills for final placements in 2nd year.

You're right that most freshers make it to finance, but many finance folks are also freshers. The difference is of your profile - if you have CFA or an economics degree with great acads, you have an edge. Else, it's best to get some work-ex first.
Hii diii I have a query regarding Internships and off campus job placements If a person is from a tier-2 or tier-3 college it is difficult to get an internship that actually is learning experience because one need alumni network for recommendation.Secondly, in tier-1 college there are clubs and societies, projects done there also help to get internships( for eg 180 degree consulting DDC)that allows them to have basic skills which makes them able to crack internship.Since every organisation looks what a person can add to there organisation they obviously become a ryt fit and stand out for the roles In case of Off campus hiring the problem is same. They are looking for skills and work ex that can't be equipped with courses or certifications available online. Please do suggest how to deal with this.
Hello Sweta Maam Can you please give me a suggestion.. That for CAT 2023 Maths - Arun Sharma LOD 1 is enough aur we should practice LOD 2 and 3 also. LRDI - Arun Sharma book is important or can we solve previous year question paper and mock test and sectional test that is enough.
For maths, LOD 1 is sufficient to cover basics till July/Aug. LOD 2 can be done later selectively for weaker chapters. LRDI - past year papers or mocks are a better idea. Books can be used if you need more questions or LRDI is weaker.

People who made more at start got better hikes because they were genuinely better in negotiations/people skills/technical skills than people who made less and also got less hikes. Logic: Everyone in your iim circle must be from same iim and still if there is such a huge diff in pay in start then and keeping the trend after even after 3 years brings me to this conclusion. Outliers are always there who peek a bit late or very early so don't quote them 🤠.

I won't recommend TIME as there are 200-300 students as a batch and the teacher is not able to personally mentor you. I know someone from TIME (a mentor) he said the teachers don't take the efforts to talk to students. I am preparing for my CAT from IMS, it's good. U can also opt for Alchemist. Yes you can. There's no point in checking that figure, every coaching institute can produce toppers, at the end of the day it is the student's hardwork which pays off. What is better is to shortlist coaching institutes after reading some past year reviews (shared in this - th-cam.com/video/MRqjdVii5XE/w-d-xo.html) And then watch their YT videos to see which coaching has better teaching style. If you're able to understand what they are teaching that will make all the difference. Go for that institution.

There is a simple logic: if during Nov'2023 when you write the exam, you'll be in your final year (even if it's 5th sem), you are eligible to take the CAT 2023 exam. Even if your marks are available of only 2 or 3 semesters.

Hi shweta, i have a query about what you told about paraphrasing in the VARC video, you told to summarise each para in a single line. Do we need to write the summary of each para on a piece of paper, o do we just have to keep it in mind while reading and answering questions
Initially, try writing it on a piece of paper (it will take time but build a habit). There will come a time (1-2 months later) when this process will become automatic. Then stop writing and just doing it mentally. End goal is to reach the automation stage. Best wishes 🙌😊
Mam I am preparing for CAT 2023 previously I was an SSC aspirant and also have cleared some of the government exams,,, mam I am doing coaching at TIME .... Some problems faced by me at this phase are- 1. Many teachers on seeing my background (10th - 9.8 cgpa , 12th 71% , and 68%in B.A. (non -Engineering) ): say that it's not good that you should expect (BLACKI) Iims calls even if u come out with good score ,, rather u should be looking for college like Symbiosis etc. ie. Those colleges whodon't look at background... is that so....🤔🤔 2. Mock Interviews are going in our Time campus and I am seeing only guys around (24-26 some 27 even)age groups,, I talked to one among them regarding this what he replied regarding this was that it also took them like 2 attempts (and to some even more) to crack CAT with good score... Is it so.......... like it's very disheartening for me ( at 22 years of age) competing with them as those would have immense knowledge and confidence at Interviews and G.D. .... 3. Hey Sonali, I understand we worry a lot about this decision but let me share something from my experience - at the end of the day, we prepare on our own. Coaching helps in clearing our basics. So I'll share the names of a few brands I like and have even worked with on the channel and their individual USPs - Unacademy (variety of batches/teachers to choose from), iQuanta (doubt solving), PW (affordable), Studybuzz (regular updates), Cracku/2IIM (if you're more comfortable with English). You shouldn't rely on my suggestion because what may work for me may not work for you - so check their YT videos and see their teaching style. Then you can make the right choice.

There's no specialization for either, most of these career options emerge out of general MBA. IIMs offer general MBA. In the second year also you only choose subjects but they can be from a variety of specializations so to say. You don't need any specialization to get into these fields. I have a query regarding Internships and off campus job placements
If a person is from a tier-2 or tier-3 college it is difficult to get an internship that actually is learning experience because one need alumni network for recommendation.Secondly, in tier-1 college there are clubs and societies, projects done there also help to get internships( for eg 180 degree consulting DDC)that allows them to have basic skills which makes them able to crack internship.Since every organisation looks what a person can add to there organisation they obviously become a ryt fit and stand out for the roles
In case of Off campus hiring the problem is same. They are looking for skills and work ex that can't be equipped with courses or certifications available online.
Please do suggest how to deal with this.

LRDI - Arun Sharma book is important or can we solve previous year question paper and mock test and sectional test that is enough.
Bro any book is not enough for CAT exam this exam is unexpected which level of question will ask in exam is never be expect so study indepth 😇
For maths, LOD 1 is sufficient to cover basics till July/Aug. LOD 2 can be done later selectively for weaker chapters.
LRDI - past year papers or mocks are a better idea. Books can be used if you need more questions or LRDI is weaker.

People who made more at start got better hikes because they were genuinely better in negotiations/people skills/technical skills than people who made less and also got less hikes. Logic: Everyone in your iim circle must be from same iim and still if there is such a huge diff in pay in start then and keeping the trend after even after 3 years brings me to this conclusion.
Outliers are always there who peek a bit late or very early so don't quote them 🤠.

I won't recommend TIME as there are 200-300 students as a batch and the teacher is not able to personally mentor you. I know someone from TIME (a mentor) he said the teachers don't take the efforts to talk to students. I am preparing for my CAT from IMS, it's good. U can also opt for Alchemist. Baaki it's all upto you and ur location. Best of luck 👍🏻

There's no point in checking that figure, every coaching institute can produce toppers, at the end of the day it is the student's hardwork which pays off.

There is a simple logic: if during Nov'2023 when you write the exam, you'll be in your final year (even if it's 5th sem), you are eligible to take the CAT 2023 exam. Even if your marks are available of only 2 or 3 semesters.

Hi shweta, i have a query about what you told about paraphrasing in the VARC video, you told to summarise each para in a single line. Do we need to write the summary of each para on a piece of paper, o do we just have to keep it in mind while reading and answering questions
Initially, try writing it on a piece of paper (it will take time but build a habit). There will come a time (1-2 months later) when this process will become automatic. Then stop writing and just doing it mentally. End goal is to reach the automation stage. Best wishes 🙌😊

Mam I am preparing for CAT 2023 previously I was an SSC aspirant and also have cleared some of the government exams,,, mam I am doing coaching at TIME ....
Some problems faced by me at this phase are-
1. Many teachers on seeing my background (10th - 9.8 cgpa , 12th 71% , and 68%in B.A. (non -Engineering) ): say that it's not good that you should expect (BLACKI) Iims calls even if u come out with good score ,, rather u should be looking for college like Symbiosis etc. ie. Those colleges whodon't look at background... is that so....🤔🤔
2. Mock Interviews are going in our Time campus and I am seeing only guys around (24-26 some 27 even)age groups,, I talked to one among them regarding this what he replied regarding this was that it also took them like 2 attempts (and to some even more) to crack CAT with good score... Is it so..........
like it's very disheartening for me ( at 22 years of age) competing with them as those would have immense knowledge and confidence at Interviews and G.D. ....

Hey Sonali, I understand we worry a lot about this decision but let me share something from my experience - at the end of the day, we prepare on our own. Coaching helps in clearing our basics. So I'll share the names of a few brands I like and have even worked with on the channel and their individual USPs - Unacademy (variety of batches/teachers to choose from), iQuanta (doubt solving), PW (affordable), Studybuzz (regular updates), Cracku/2IIM (if you're more comfortable with English). You shouldn't rely on my suggestion because what may work for me may not work for you - so check their YT videos and see their teaching style. Then you can make the right choice.

There's no specialization for either, most of these career options emerge out of general MBA. IIMs offer general MBA. In the second year also you only choose subjects but they can be from a variety of specializations so to say. You don't need any specialization to get into these fields. Di i want to prepare for civil services and I have graduated in 2020 and as we all know it's been very tough to get job for freshers and i belong from guwahati which doesn't have big MNC's who hire freshers and even the environment is not at all education friendly for competitive exams there is very few guidance i even joined a coaching but it didn't helped.
