    "I guess I don't really need any kind of bike" Lol That made me chuckle. No, we probably don't need a whole fleet of bikes, but it sure is fun to be able to pick and choose a different bike every day though.
    I just got back from my 20 mile loop and realized I needed to get my weekly fix of LocoJoe and a build video is the perfect remedy. The bike looks fantastic, Randy! Thanks for bringing us along! I hope it's been a great week for you two so far. Take care!

      Oh yeah a few bikes to choose from definitely helps to motivate and stop burnout. We're having a good week. Hope you are as well. Thanks. Take care.

    Love the fact that most of your builds are all done on one video. Too many guys try to make it a mini series! Lol ....I also dig that green frame. Had me wondering how it would like with a coaster break wheel since it has drop outs on it. Overall nice bike! 👍👍

      Thanks! Lately I've been making 2 videos per bike, the build and the ride, where as I used to get it all done in one video. Don't like the videos to be too long though. Guess I used to get things done faster lol. I do like to start a build in the morning and be riding it later that same day. I really don't like them to drag out. Yes on the dropouts. Nice to have that option. Thanks for watching and commenting.

      Yes that's true. Thanks! Any pictures of your build posted online somewhere? If not e-mail me a pic at randy@locojoe.com if you want.

    Super cool project. Those slotted dropout frames are desirable to me as I always want to use an internally geared hub… but for some reason I never do.
    The bar stem combo you ended up with looks fantastic. Looking forward to part two.

      Yes having the slotted drop outs allows for some options. Internal hub like you said or single speed. Have rode the bike briefly and already made changes. By the time I get around to part 2 I may be right back where I started though lol. Thanks Josh.

    Hello Randy! It was great to see you with another build video! That was definitely a treat and the bike turned out great! I was sitting here hoping you were going to change out the handlebars and you did! It looks much better. Hope you're enjoying your weekend!

      I hate to disappoint you but… I’ve already changed out the handlebars lol. We’ll see what I end up with after more riding.
      As always thanks Willie and have a great week..

      From the pictures in the e-bay listing I thought it was going to be a little brighter. More like a Schwinn Campus Green. Still like it though. Thanks Mark!

    Nice build Randy. Should be a funnin'. Looks striking. I like the gold. // Just finished building up a frame into a Fixed Gear bike. It's a small learning curve on how to ride one. This old man may have to practice a bit more than a young whipper snapper like you with that youthful balance you have. I made a quick video on it if you want to take a look.

      Thanks. Yes I did see your video. Nice build. I watch TH-cam on the TV where I can’t comment and then I always forget to comment later when on a device that I can. I built up a fixed gear many years ago and just rode it once. Maybe someday I’ll give it another try.

      @Locojoe Same here. I watch on TV too. Also rode a fixed years ago but I'm giving it another go. Some absolutely love 'em. Must be something there I missed.

    Shimano CT-90 crank set is a recall. I redid a 95' Mongoose in 20' started with replacing CT-90 canti's then crank set. Now it's a 3x7 trail ATB.

      Didn't know that. Thanks. Sounds like a cool build.

    Fun bike build. What tooth size chain ring do you like to use when you run a mullet set up.🤔.

    • @Locojoe
      @Locojoe  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks Roger. I think 38 or 40 teeth. Most of my 1x bikes only have 5 or 7 gears in the back. I really don't put much thought or planning into it. It's flat around here so I don't need much gear range.

    I had a giant boulder many years ago, brother in law rode it across oklahoma twice. I gave it away to a bike shop guy in tulsa. Frame was a bit too small for me.

    I got a question for you Mr. Joe....is there anything I need to know about lacing spokes from an antique one speed coaster hub upgrading to a 3 speed nexus hub onto old wheel? Any difference in spoke length I gotta worry about?

    • @Locojoe
      @Locojoe  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm sorry but I'm really not sure. I suppose it depends on if the hub flanges are the same size? I really don't know. The wheels that I've built have either been reusing same rim, hub and spokes due to re lacing after painting or powder coating the rim or I've taken the rim and hub to the bike shop and have them figure out the spokes I need. Again sorry I'm no help. Good luck!

      @@Locojoe yes, im talking my self out of the hub change. I found some multi speed hub wheel options on the market I may go with. Trying to stay with coaster brake arrangement.
