- (MATERIALS AND TIMESTAMPS LISTED BELOW) Hi hello I decided to reuse some old cds and make some cool cd art! I tried a method to make them transparent and painted 3 designs (mellohi disc, popart drip design, and a 3D stars and moons design!). This is awesome for room decor, a small gift, or a cute diy project!

MATERIALS ✂️ :
-old cds
-packing storage tape
-scissors
-Sharpie oil-based paint pen in black, fine point
-Artist's Loft Acrylic Paint
-Acrylique Acrylic Paint (literally dollar store paint lol)
-paintbrushes, both round and flat-edged and various sizes lol (I'm using old stuff I found in my storage so idk brands or anything sorry but pre sure most of them are just paintbrushes found in most basic sets)
-nail polish remover & q-tips

I have a lot of old cds but my only problem is i can't draw/paint 😭😭😭😂
practice makes perfect! give it a few tries and it'll look better each time :))
Put some glue mix with water if its to much dab with a cloth or paper tower dry it off ❤️❤️

Hello, for the cd if you wanna it to be verry smooth you have to use a more powerful scotch like grey, and after removing the drawing you take a cottons ball with a product to remove the varnish and rub. (Kiss i hope to help you )🥰🥰👌

I bought a craft book that had the exact same instructions. However, I couldn't get the cover of the CD to come off perfectly and spent hours googling how to get it off differently, but all I got was the same technique as in the video, except I thought it looked perfect on everyone else. Your video showed me that the cover doesn't come off perfectly and that adhesive residue from the tape is normal.

I have been wanting to do a glass painting but I cant get frames at the moment so I was so excited for this-- only for the cd cover to not come off 😭
oh nooo sorry to hear that it seems like a good amount of ppl r having trouble with the cd cover from what ive heard its easier if the cd is new and a specific type of covering

I've been trying for 2 hours to take the thing off so I ended up just painting over it I'm kind of sad but you don't always win so it's okay I still like them
sorry to hear that :(( but im sure theyre still just as amazing, ive seen a few comments say that newer cds with a specific type of covering are the easiest to remove, but im glad you tried your best anyway!

i love it but just a tip, instead of tape you could also try use blue tack. It make it sooooo much easier!

I’ve found that the easiest way to get glue residue off of stuff is to get some kind of oil (vegetable oil, olive oil, any kind of oil like that) and rubbing alcohol. Take two paper towels/cotton pads and get a bit of oil on one, and rubbing alcohol on the other. Then just rub the oil on the residue, then the rubbing alchohol, then repeat until the glue is off

When I was young I had so much cds from my dad I use to paint them all different styles I will now probably do it again have a great day bye ✌🏻
about the scratches, you can try using some kitchen polishing stuff like brasso. i don't know if you have it from wherever you're from or hell if you're from Australia to begin with XD, but it is the shit here in Australia.
Just a little tip- to make removing the cover thing that you struggle getting off easier to remove all you do is put boiling hot water in a bowl and place CD inside water for 20minuits after you wil be able to grab a knife and pry open and seperate the two cases apart
if you have left over bits of the layer, or tape residue, take rubbing alcohol to it and one of the metal scrub brushed and it takes it off easy

@@izzatijaty6559 In the garbage probably... I'm sure the label burns but it will generate spooky fumes.
Tip the nail polish remover can also help remove the tape residue and makes it way more clear
