Someone who takes real pride in their business and customers. What a awesome setup that must cost a chunk of change. Up here in massachusetts we use a lot of brine compared to rock salt sand etc. great product the brine

When you pump out of the storage tank through the brine maker and into your sprayer, what is running to pump/suck it in? The sprayer?

The brine maker pump is doing all the work. Only when we pull from our onsite storage tanks is the sprayer pump doing the suck into the sprayer.

We have been on the fence of wanted to go with brine. Do you think if you would have pre treated with rock salt or clear lane that would have burnt that .5 to an 1.00
    Of slush you got?

I’ve thought about brine but situations like this I think salt would have handled it better. There are times where brine would work fine but the additional labor and equipment to make it and store it just outweighs the benefits in my opinion. We presalt alot and there is usually plenty of time for the salt to work before places open.

I used salt for 30 years before switching to brine and in this situations (air & ground temps), was just the right combo to create the slush. Everyone using rock salt was scraping as well. I could have melted it off with brine, if I would have put more product down. But we always prefer mechanical removal if we can and use less product (either salt or brine). Our triggers are 0", so basically we can plow when we feel it will be a better and faster end result. The end (monetary) result is the almost the same. Either your charging for 3 or 4 salt applications, or 2 applications with a plow.

@ very well put. From a wear and tear and labor expenses side we would rather salt then drop blades and pushes. We are definitely looking for the same result just a more efficient way. Thanks

@@jgoings13 I don't really think there is a only 1 way solution. It's really how you're set up. In that particular storm, I would have needed to use 125 ton + of salt (if I was still using salt) to melt it off. Instead we only used 11,000 gallons of brine and 1 time thru (2 hours) with mechanical removal. Again, there is no right or wrong, just preferences.

Do the employees get upset if they don’t get to work on the small events thanks also do the fill hose on your tanks stop filling on their own or do you have to watch so they don’t overfill thanks

In this situation, we weren't supposed to get that much. The operators don't really care to move water anyway LOL. And no the hose does not stop, but I wish it did. You have to watch or it will spill over (not that I would know LOLOLOL)
