Happy for your being courageous in traveling alone, eating affordably, different activities. Yes continue to grow and know your likes and dislikes invest in your individuality. 7 - 11 stores have affordable meals that you can microwave before eating. Like that you are a budget traveler.

Thank you for this!! I’m planning a Hawai’i trip for October and more than likely will be solo. I’m used to doing things alone but never this big, also I get really nervous and have to build myself up to do new things alone, but this helped ease some of my nerves.
It will be so much fun! Definitely a little nerve racking at first but trust me it will be the best experience 😄
If you are looking for a solo group, I have a group of 20 solo travelers going to Honolulu in August 2022.
Waimea Falls is $20 to hike to falls. Waimea Bay, across the street, is FREE...as are ALL Hawaii beaches....Even resort beaches. Suggest checking out Courtyard @ Marriott/North Shore. It's adjacent to Polynesian Cultural Center....
I spent about 5 nights in Honolulu..I wanted my space and comfort unlimited towels, clean so i chose hotel. I used the bus a lot and Uber couple times .. went grocery shopping for snacks breakfast coffee and my activity was cheap/free: beach, gardens and hiking. I spent little less than you but we chose different things. next time I might do hostel or cheap air b n b and definitely a car.. so much time waisted waiting around for the bus and figuring out where to stand for it ☹️ also when it rains it pours 😩😩 The bus is very cheap and a bit dirty experience so many types of people on and off and seating is mostly fabric material
Yes I highly highly recommend a car! I also thought about doing public transportation but since I’ve been there before I knew I was going to struggle and waste a lot of time but yes when it rains it definitely pours and the weather is a little unpredictable

thank you so much for sharing all these helpful tips! i'm going to oahu later this month and finding a car rental has been such a struggle. the prices are astronomical!! where did you end up finding free parking? i gotta make a note so that i know where to park while i'm there!
Ive heard it’s been a pain with car rentals right now. I parked on Monsarrat Ave right by the zoo!
