A drive around the streets of Sointula, on Malcolm Island. This is located off of north-east Vancouver Island, on the British Columbia coast of Canada. Seen by me on a rainy December 30, 2022.
I have a client work trip that happens up island each year around end of December, and I always try to make it more fun than work. I succeed :) I think you'd love exploring Malcolm Island with that funky Sointula town and some dirt backroads to the the east side of that island.
After you turned around the low water level was very visible-is that normal or low tide? We have a fair amount of seiches here and I read up on them and the theory is there is a constant seiche occurring. The world is slowly tipping back and forth over a 24 hour period -like a bowl of water would do-back and forth-sometimes more violently than other times and that is what makes our seiches!
I was so hoping you would turn the camera to the side so I could see my old homes, but thank you for the drie around,
Sorry about that, Stacia :) But thanks for watching and enjoying it.
Thank you
This is on my bucket list. Such a beautiful little town. Thank you so much for the tour!
I'm glad that you enjoyed it. It is such a lovely place to visit.
So nice to go on a trip and never leave my couch! I enjoy your adventures Mike keep them coming!😊
Thanks Nancy. Lots of 2023 videos to come, for sure.
With buddy. I need to get there this year. And Cortez!
Love that you’re out and about exploring over the holidays

10:57 mark: This shows the beach at low tide (or at least somewhere less than high tide).
Sointula kid mid 70's to mid 80's.
What an interesting place to grow-up in. I'm sure the fishing industry was a lot more active, back then.
Really wish we could keep this place off the internet..... please.
