A bold step is taken by Christopher and CEPT by presenting the design in such an open forum. It is worth listening again and again and so much more to learn for youngsters. This is generation of knowledge passed on by Christopher. We have to be sponge and absorb as much as possible.
Great design by the great master architect. The campus is pioneering how design should be presented in a public forum open to fellow architects and students. A truly commendable idea for sharing and gaining knowledge.
The new academic complex conceived by professor Christopher Charles positions itself elegantly on the site. With a limited material palette and unique design vocabulary professor Benninger shows his masterful manuevre. The louvers are modern yet has its roots in tradition; the murals are the meaningful painting of the architect on concrete. The elevation is austere and simple.
Awesome presentation!! Im a big fan of Mr.Benninger, Im sad that I lost out on an opportunity to work in his office recently. Anyways, amazing job CCBA!
We architects must concentrate on how we can concentrate our creative energies into making the world better. The ongoing slander by a couple of architects seem to be a deliberate attempt into halting a great design process. Such transparent process undertaken by current CEPT authority must be applauded. Those naysayers must prove themselves if they can do any better by presenting their own versions.
CDSA (Primarily planning academics) - CEPT (Primarily Architecture) in itself is a contrast. Then planning has been more of hype both at CDSA AND CEPT (ofcourse post 2000 all have different mindset more commercial and less natural oppulance may for good reasons if saving on scarce resource called space/land). Then does CEPT/CDSA HAS PRODUCED WORLD CLASS PLANNERS/ARCHITECTS EITGER AS ACADEMIC LEVEL OR PRACTICING LEVEL. Last but not least is its compromise of Land scape, mounds and freedom spaces of campus to buildings to buildings and a trade off for architecture and geometrical form
