Thank you so much for this advice. I did the exercise a few times at the gym and felt as if it made no impact on my core. Your explanation made ALL the difference!
This makes a lot of sense. I can easily pull almost the whole rack of weights on the cable machine and feel nothing on my abs. Keeping the rope on top of your head puts a lot more tension and you may have to lower the weigh. I'll try it today.
@@RenshawsPersonalTraining It's the same for me too!, I've just started doing crunches and i was positive I was doing them correctly and I lifted so much and felt nothing, I was contracting my abs but the top just felt so comfortable. Can't wait to try this later today it totally makes sense in terms of physics too so i'm hoping I will actually feel something this time.
You should be feeling this in your abs. What was your weight set too? Lowering it may help even if it feels too light at first. Focus on form. Watch and rewatch this video..check out other videos, get a trainer or just dont do this exercise if ur still experiencing pain
Is that ok if I just sitting directly on the back of my feet while im kneeling for this exercise? I assume this can help to eliminate the movement around the hip too?
I'd like to know the answer too. I found that if I sit my butt on my legs, it eliminates me trying to bend at the hip. So wonder if this is not recommended.
What they don't tell you is you must already possess a strong enough core just to hold the correct stance (legs at 90° angle) and not fall on your belly
I've seen so many videos and variations of how this exercise is executed, and this is by far the best video i have seen. Thank you!💪🏽🥊💯
Great video. Through my 7 years of training I've made significant progress but could never feel my abs. This helped me greatly

I have a herniated disc in my lower lumbar. Avoid this movement in the future?
You are simply awsome Brian
I was placing the ropes behind my head and by the side of my neck I'm going to do this now.
