    This is why Princess Diana is loved all around the world even after 20 years since her passing. She was compassionate and sincere in her charity works. She was not afraid to meet different people regardless of they circumstances. Thanks God her children are like her and not the uptight and poker faced royal family. Instead of criticizing her the royal family should follow her example.

    There are those who say she only did stuff like this for publicity but what about all those secret trips to hospitals and homeless shelters she made in the middle of the night?

    • @landochabod7

      Jackie Aguiler Exactly! Publicity was the whole point.
      It was about drawing public attention to these problems: leprosy, land mines, AIDS, leukemia, and so on, and to do so in an optimistic way.

    • @arajo5773

      There are also much easier ways to gain publicity like what modern vapid celebrities are doing such as showing off their wardrobes, dresses, make up, shoes or their luxury homes but princess Diana didn't go that way, did she? She chose to shine a light on issues and people instead of material stuff.

    • @lilacs6lolita
      @lilacs6lolita 3 ปีที่แล้ว +44

      I dont think she would literally touch the patients WITH NO GLOVES or even sort of protection just for publicity. It takes real care and love to do this.

    Princess Diana was at her best when she was with those who were rejected by society. It was her gift and calling in life, and came so natural for her. She really did think from the heart and loved others unconditionally.

    This video was shot in Premananda Memorial Leprosy Hospital , a unit of The Leprosy Mission Trust India ; Dr.D.Vijayakumar was the Medical superintendent ; Dr.C.S Walter was the Director for India. I was impressed by the way Princess Diana was curious to know every detail about the disease and the patients. Her warm touch was clearly an indication how she cared and supported the work of the Leprosy Mission.

    Whether or not she did this for publicity is academic. The fact she did it brought awareness about leprosy to the world and encouraged charitable donations and understanding regarding the disease.

    If one can use their status to call attention to the suffering of others, then God bless them. Diana was a lifelong sufferer of many things. To do something to bring attention to those who suffer, and give those who are in pain and neglected or ignored, she only showed what a believer in Christianity would do.

    At least someone asked her 'was she alright" by the sick woman but then that woman was in pain she recognised another person pain.She was hurting badly yet she only showed loved to those who needed it.They questioned her sanity ,she was the only one who was sane with steel nerves an ordinary person would have completely withdrawn from public and just say how sorry is my life but she is extraordinary in every way.So unfortunate of her to have a son who publicly years later knowing best her struggles called her state paranoid ,she did not deserve such a calculated ungrateful son she really did not.Not only a bad marriage but this too.And to top it all he and his woman have cashed in on this same paranoid woman struggles for their own relevance by talking about mental health in a society who related to Diana,could not feel more sorry for her ,does not want to show his mother respect for who she really was but use her suffering for his survival.

    Unpopular opinion: She has more done for the those with taboo attached to them than Mother Teresa. As someone who was brought up in Kolkata, where MoC head-quarter is, I hardly seen them in action delivering aids and helping those who need it the most. MoC glorified suffering and poverty and had a handful housed at her headquarter for World media to swoon on them. Mother Teresa was more like a PR campaigner for the Catholic world with little substance. Much later, very reputed journalists have highlighted some very dark side of Mother Teresa which I don't know are true or not.
    But Pricess Diana's interaction with AIDS patients in the USA and Leprosy patients in India turned the battle on the taboo against the people suffering from them. I have seen it firsthand since my uncle used to run an NGO/shelter for some of them. I think she deserved a Nobel Peace Prize, not Mother Teresa. One can say she just held hands, but the impact that had. Oh my!
