I'm almost positive he was the one with the idea of the tournament, he put it in canada so more people could drink since the legal drinking age in most provinces is 19
It's hard for me to tell what Hax could've done to make him have a more winning advantage after game 1. The slow get-up from ledge and tournament winners keeps costing him, and he probably started slowing down to figure out Mango's change in tempo after he downloaded Hax. Either Mango anticipates more faster or he's just losing to Falco himself.
I love how reactive Hax is but the one thing I noticed Mango was preying on was the predictable positioning that Hax was always trying to recover to. Hax tried not to bait Mango from a disadvantageous position, but it's almost like being stuck in center against a monster that can approach you from anywhere on the stage.
Mango just kept reading him. You can see hax constantly rolling in when mango has him in the corner and mango covered it with wd back shine nearly every time. Hax might have the technical edge but mango has all the mind games and adaptation. Hax has an immaculate gameplan and techskill, but that can only take you so far when the top players start adapting to you and you dont change up ur play to account for it.
The good thing is that you can tell there's some kind of improvement from this one if you watch their fight from GOML and do a side by side comparison.
@@Belive7heHype @Belive7heHype it's a muscle memory thing. dash dancing is actually easier on the b0xx due to having digital inputs / instant access to left and right on the left hand with two separate fingers. he probably hasn't incorporated / practiced it enough
OhSoSnake We are going into 2020. If Hax doesnt dash dance, im 99% sure its because he finds it less optimal than other options. The day Hax dies, it'll be because breathing wasnt optimal in the neutral game anymore.
Custom designed fight pad for Melee; after difficulty recovering from his hand issues earlier this decade, Hax decided a pad with the right setup would be less of a strain on tendons that typically get a lot of strain during technical play on a standard controller.
Nah, Hax wasn’t happy with the development cycle of the Hitbox so he parted ways with the team early on and decided to design his own, so he could trial different button layouts/movement patterns for his hands. He’s also releasing his design for sale, I believe.
Well yeah it's his tournament after all and it was on his b-day, so of course he has the crowd on his side. That'd be like going to a sports game and cheering for the away team when they score on you.
Am I the only one that doesnt enjoy waffles as a commentator that much? I mean I really like his personality but I feel like he is a little too slow to observe and commentate such high paced games. He just takes too long to formulate his thoughts and meanwhile misses hype moments that are just happening.
I respect the criticism, but I'm just so familiar with waffles I feel like he's part of the melee experience. Maybe in a match like this he could have afforded to be a little faster on the draw, but I think Vish could have too (and Vish is normally a little more energetic). What might have been missing most from this commentary was just specifics on tech from both commentators... why I love chillin, I guess.
hax looks like stephen hawking with his controller on his lap
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lmao
hax played out of his mind. he went kaioken x50 this tournament. He's gonna break back into the top 20 in 2020
I'm pretty sure he's low end top 20 just from this right? I saw ibdw place him at like 19 for his end of year ballot.
or break his hands
@@imaginarynumbers5011 boxx doesn't break hands
He's gonna break his hands. Keep it up Haxxx!
@@imaginarynumbers5011 Nice one.
Hax$ is so sick. Always an honor to watch even just from my phone screen. Always cheering for hax$!
I haven't seen such a memorable set between these two since the BH4 salt
Pound 2016 mangos marth?.??.....??.?
Heyzeus “Wait, Hax won?”
they also played at goml this year
Hax was typing at like 300 bpm this tournament
well melee is 450apm+
He’s double spacing those aerials :^)
The fight speed for these matches are insane.
One of my favorite matches from the birthday bash.
Hmm, I see that hax$ isn't an u-tilt fox at all. Very shine and fade away dair heavy. Interesting.
I'm just waiting for mang0 to choose another secondary character and make a clip off hax$ lol
How honorable to have a major named after you
2 majors
Mang0 charismatic af

Can we talk about how clean the drop cancel bair at 3:23 though?
no
Hax doesn’t dash dance much.
I wonder why maybe it’s difficult on the box or has he never dash danced

he does, its just very tight.
He is, but it isn't visible to the naked eye. He's spacing on a nuclear level
good shit
He plays with an arcade setup? Wth

@@TOGGGAA1 no. hitbox is a terrible execution of the concept. the b0xx has better buttons and a more ergonomic layout.

what the hell is Hax$ playing with lmao
hes using a controller he developed called the b0xx

6:30 - watch in slowmotion it's some of the wildest off stage plays

Imagine calling shine out of shield "honest"
wtf is HAX playing on LMAO

the b0XX
Incorrect. It's b0xx as Trenten says. His own product, which is pretty dang cool!
actually the logo on the site and on the box itself says B0XX (as well as the text on the site)

He’s getting older, give him a break
Anyone who uses the controller hax got and doesn’t have hand problems should have their human rights revoked
? why. Many melee players who used to play smash flash 2 or other pc games might prefer the boxx bc its more similar to keyboard
bruh youre dumb the controller is also for preventing hand injury
Melee has hitbox players now lol its cheating ..... people still don’t realize its a definite advantage
you do realize he lost 1 - 3
