- Educational video describing the concepts of fractured bone healing.
Fracture healing is a process in which the body heals and repairs the broken bone.
Requirments for bone healing:
1-Vascularity: sufficient blood supply.
The fracture stimulates the release of growth factors that attract stem cells and promotes angiogenesis, vasodilation and healing of the bone.
Blood flow increases at the fracture site.
Metaphyseal heals faster than diaphyseal because of the rich blood supply.
2-Adequate mechanical stability of the fracture
a-Cast
b-Rod
c-External fixator
d-Plate and screws
Adequate stability promotes revascularization.
Proper stabilization is needed to prevent deformity and nonunion at the fracture site.
Excessive motion will interrupt the development of new bone.
Complications of fracture healing
Possible deformities at the fracture site
1-Fracture shortening
•Some shortening may be acceptable
•Excessive shortening may need to be corrected.
2-Fracture nonunion
•Bone completely fails to heal after a reasonable period of time.
•Fracture area remains tender and painful, especially when stressed or with movement.
3-Valgus deformity
•The distal part of a limb deviates away from the center of the body.
4-Varus deformity
•The distal part of a limb deviates towards the center of the body.
Physicians should be aware of these basic concepts of fracture healing. Every attempt should be made to avoid complications.

I think I had a stable tibial fracture. Didn't go to the doctor and didn't get a cast on or anything. Just walked gingerly and about a month later I was walking on it normally. I had to take a break from karate and all. But now I can do everything I used to without any problems. Guess Im lucky eh?

Sir my nose left nasal cavity cartilage bone fracture so does not my nose normal nose inside no pain but very large size muscle no breath easy
I broke my tibia and fibula in a tractor accident in July 2020, tibia failed to bond. February 25, 2021 second surgery with larger rod, shortened fibula , compressed breakage to promote healing. Appears now 4 months later NOT to be significantly bonding. I am of course working with doctor who advised numerous factors are making bonding difficult such as prediabetes, age 59, 25 year history of autoimmune disorder prescription immune suppressant, weight, location of injury 6” above ankle.
Should this break continue to fail do you have any suggestions on further surgery, or options? At what point does a prosthetic become an option?
Thank You
I can’t give you an answer without information and examination
Hi. I broke my femur February 2017. I have rod and two screws... One at the hip and another at the knee. I'm talking to my doctor about removing them. Do you think it's too early? It's still a little painful at the break but mostly it's the pain from the metal. Every time it gets cold, it's unbearable aching down the entire femur. Really sucks! I know I'll need to take it easy for quite awhile after but I really want it out.
For me also happened bro in school I'm MY femur middle shaft now doctor puted a rod and two screws now completely is healing bro ❤️❤️🙏🙏by god's grace

You sound of severe inteligence worn down Sir.
Do these many mis-spellings bother you on your videos?
The rod in placements look like acupuncture for broken bones.
Is there a more sensible way of ensuring total bone self mending goes well with out that procedure/procedures as it rings in mind of a joke on modern medicine from a man who has spent his life drinking?
Why puncture the bone that was broken open to fix this same bone by severing it apart with even more open space?
Understand that last BIT?
Yes.
