Yeah I really like making Deepslate castles because they give off a creepy vibe and they aren’t too harsh black like blackstone they are a more subtle version, like a dark greyish black

I like that you explain why you build the way you do that makes sense. Especially the bit about why you do mostly stone walls for the first floor and do wood on the second floor. I never thought about the weight of the material until you mentioned it and it clicks and makes sense. A lot of building tip videos I’ve watched didn’t always explain why they did what they did, sometimes those tips just seemed so basic and bare bones. You can almost hear the “just get good scrub” beyond their so called tips. I also really, really liked how you listed the materials that work for these builds. Builders have said “build a block palette “ but never explained how. Or what looks good with certain builds. I think I’ll create a new creative world and actually places these blocks down in a section to always have something to reference when I’m practicing building. And the roof layouts!!!! Oh man, i love the pictures and you outlining what blocks to use, its so helpful! Thanks for the awesome and actually useful tip video!

One thing missing are white blocks. White concrete, bone blocks, and mushroom stems all work. (I save quartz for only one or two fancy buildings.) Medieval houses were usually wattle-n-daub construction with a lime whitewash over the daub. Ground floors were usually stone, but the upper floors were wood half-timbering with white walls in between.

I also use white stone like calcite, diorite, polished diorite and rarely smooth stone for the walls but end up using dark roofing like deep slate and dark details

Should probably be noted that this is about a specific fantasy style inspired by some medieval European styles, but also with some new innovations and style decisions - everything is made more artistically and over-designed, for example those city wall are very much unlike any real ones I know of. I'm not always the biggest fan of the style shown in the video as the consistent level of detail makes everything clamor for attention and prevents the eye from resting. I loove those fully wooden houses though! Re Texture: Especially for larger areas instead of randomly sprinkling in single blocks, consider making small patches, which also gives it a texture at a larger scale. This ties into the point I made about noise, but they can also say something about how the differences came to be: Cart tracks in the road, whitewash eroded from rain, cobble in a stone facing where there originally was a wall attached that since has been torn down.
Actually I like using polished and normal Anderside, clean stone and both normal and cracked stone bricks in a random combination but avoiding two of the same tilype of blocks next to each other. This way you can create a wonderful aged look of walls and other stone creations

definition of a medieval build: builds inspired by medieval era architecture, typically with heavy influence from fantasy installations. just maybe a possible better definition than “they don’t look like modern buildings”
medieval is the middle age (11th-15th century) and why it looks good in Minecraft is because Minecraft is based on old ages and what i mean is like we use swords since guns are modern and the builds in the middle age are just wood sometimes stone which are the most important building blocks in Minecraft (this is not from google its from me and thats why it sounds stupid and non sense)

Medieval house wall should be a white block because IRL the walls are made of wattle and daub with white plaster over it
I actually hate modern builds, I only like medieval, rustic and fantasy bc they all fit the game and have hella detail, hard but fun to make

medieval is the middle age (11th-15th century) and why it looks good in Minecraft is because Minecraft is based on old ages and what i mean is like we use swords since guns are modern and the builds in the middle age are just wood sometimes stone which are the most important building blocks in Minecraft (this is not from google its from me and thats why it sounds stupid and non sense)
