This is the epitome of what Hitman is about. Everyone is given the same sandbox and tools to play with and you see such creativity to speedrun the challenge.
It was really cool to see each player come at it with wildly different strategies and ideas. It was a great idea to keep runners from seeing the other submissions.
It's _almost unique_ in that way, isn't it? The interaction with the game environment, leading to this amount of runner creativity.
I'm just waiting for the inevitable summoning salt video on this game within the next few years.
@@Noah-lj2sg Yeah, that's why i made sure to mention the "few years" part. However, there ARE plenty of rather salty summoning clones that will make a video. Perhaps his chat will do really awful parody. 😁
@@329link I imagine it was a lot of fun for the runners when atrioc shows all the runs on stream finally they get to have their own experience of wonder which is really neat
This game looks so shit though.
It’s insane that in the later runs the top runners separately found the optimal start without seeing each other’s runs, it just shows how much skill these runners have
so, as a speedrunning beginner (i only recreated a pretty easy run on one of the intro missions, and am now working on my timings in miami), but a avid hitman player:
the way the game is set up, you know these maps so well, THAT is one of the easier parts. hard is the execution with all the different mechanics (lure shots and detection crouching mostly). but hitman has only 6-8 Levels per game, you're supposed to replay them a lot. i stumbled upon this video completely randomly, and it just happens to be about one of my favourite maps - i knew all of these targets and where they were located just by his first pictures showing them, and could actually tell you (non speedrun) ways to get rid of all of them.
only one of them is remotely important to the normal mission.

Only in Silent Assassin Suit Only. Don't get me wrong, Big A has had some immensely impressive accomplishments, but hes not the best runner atm.
@@SlowMoebius + Master. SASO is the hardest form of runs you can attempt in the game, let alone speedrunning. Is he the best? no. But he is realistically the founding father of hitman speedrunning, and thats the biggest accomplishment in of itself (and by founding father, i mean starting an actual community)

If you haven’t, I recommend watching the VOD on the VODs channel for this one... so much more cool stuff that was missed in here imo. The routing of a speedrun is always amazing to see, to watch a speedrun competition based on who can route quicker rather than who can grind and get lucky first is great! Goated idea Big A, can’t wait for the next one of these prayage.
+1, first vod of his I watched & tbh the first streamer I have actually told normal IRL friends about. I cannot stress how unlikely that is for me to do, not that I am special or anything. Just like, I answer every satisfaction survey from companies asking if I will recommend their product by saying the closest answer equivalent of "fuuuuuck no".

Honestly, this is a fantastic showcase to how beautifully crafted hitman levels are that there is so much clever innovation in killing literally randomly chosen NPCs across the map. Hope this becomes a series as well this is amazing content that doesn't require the grind!

I loved the variation between the runs. Really shows the brilliance of the game. Have you ever thought of encouraging starting at different spawn locations by making a bonus prize of like $5 if they have the best run for each starting location. I personally loved seeing the snipers adapt the ruins to their advantage.
I haven't played Hitman since "Absolution", but I watch most your Hitman videos because you make them so hype and explain so much. Good work.

I love Summoning Salt as much as the next guy, but this was just way better. More entretaining, less repetitive and predictible and shorter. So yeah I love both styles, it is just that I would appreciate more of this. Insanely good concept, result and video overall.

These videos are great. This introduced me to HITMAN speedrunning. Speedrunning isn't really my thing, but HITMAN is. When Atrioc was probably a wee baby, I silent assassin'd every level of Hitman 2: Silent Assassin (pre-dating acheivements/trophies) and after 35 years of gaming Hitman 2 is still one of my favourite games of all time. But I wasn't into all the instinct stuff so I didn't play any for a long time after 2. The new trilogy feels way more like the old games vs Blood Money or Absolution did, imo.
Anyway, the point is it's real nice to see how this series has evolved and it's nice to see younger players doing this mind-bending shit. Really enjoying your content.
Do you guys ever do no-instinct challenges? You guys know the maps so well now you'd probably be fine without it. I play all HITMAN games without using it. I've never used it. (No mini map either.) Obviously, my runs take forever, but they're very satisfying.
I know that you said you were stopping grinding Hitman but I would love to see more Hitman videos like this in the future.

7:20 is the winner speedrun for those who are like me - 0 glitch speedruns.
somehow for me there are 2 types of speedruns - one where you get blown through the roof with a piece of violin & drop 20m of cliff in 0.05 seconds without damage (and stuff like that) and other where You don't use glitches.
Hitman as a game is clean, realistic assassin game and I enjoy that the most!

This is why I love hitman so much. The possibilities are literally endless and it’s amazing. This is a COMMUNITY CHALLENGE and yet it has the depth of a main game level. You literally can’t do this on any other video game
