Telekinetic, Devolution, Waiting on the Sky to Change, My Demons, Trials, Monster, Ricochet, Manifest… there’s so many songs to check out! Can’t go wrong with Starset!
@@patbateman8116 amen, that was the first song I heard from Starset so I love down with the fallen! Bringing it Down, It Has Begun, Other Worlds Than These… it’s literally pretty much every song.
They have had a very sick heavy side to them for a while, they have a couple of sick breakdowns and very memorable screams... They've shown us before that they can do heavy so I'm hoping they finally dive deeper into that sound, either way, they've never ceased to amaze regardless of the sound they gravitate towards. The first song I ever heard of them was Carnivore and it still slaps.
They are very good live. Having the live violins and backing tracks and live keys adds so much to the soundscape of it. Everything they do is essentially a concept
STARSET is a very cinematic band. In all honesty, it feels as if each of their songs are telling an individual story. When I play action games, STARSET is my #1 pick on Spotify because it just feels, well, fuckin’ insane!
@asre1503 This was my second time, saw them with Breaking Benjamin two years ago. That demonstration was awesome, but this one was even better. Looking forward to next spring. 🤘🤘
Yaaaaaaay, Starset, my beloved! I especially love the heavier songs like Telekinetic, Devolution, Into The Unknown, the cover of Kashmir. Vessels is my favorite album of all time (any artist). The songs that are a slow burn to an epic, heavy AF ending are awesome too. Everglow, Trials reimagine, Something Wicked, Gravity of You. Starset is entirely lore-based. There are two novels (and one of those was adapted to a graphic novel in collaboration with Marvel), all of the music videos, and their live shows are very immersive and they have passed out propaganda, played videos in between songs, etc. Also, I'll be 42 next year, so you're not the only geriatric one, haha.
Seen them live two nights ago! BRAVE NEW WORLD WENT SO FREAKING HARD, GODDD DUSTIN AND THE BAND KILLLLLLED IT LIVE!!! Manifest, Perfect Machine, and Something Wicked are all great tracks.
You guys have gotta check out that Breaking Benjamin collab, it's awesome. As far as Starset's style goes, they refer to their genre as "cinematic rock" so they go heavy on the synths and orchestrals and their music videos are all very cinematic. 'Monster' and 'Ricochet' are my favourite of their videos. They have quite a range tone wise, heavier stuff like this song and Telekinetic, lighter stuff like 'dark on me' and 'everglow' (although 'everglow' still has a minute long scream in it lol), and basically everything in between.
Funny you mention the swearing, its actually the first time Starset has sworn in a song (that I am aware of). Also, this is definitely the heaviest song from Starset. They have a few with heavy breakdowns, but its the first time they had a growl chorus.
I’m going to preface this with Starset is 100% my favorite band but there are numerous (musical) similarities to BMTH. Listen to the song Gravity of You and tell me it doesn’t sound like BMTH
“Telekinetic” from them also leans heavier, especially with some long screams. I’d also suggest “waiting on the sky to change” (the one with Breaking Benjamin) and “point of no return”
if you are interested in seeing them do this one live they premiered it at Welcome to Rockville last weekend and there are videos floating around TH-cam
Three things; First off, Happy Birthday Johnny! Secondly, my song recommendations would be Telekinetic and Manifest, I feel would be two good songs. And also the one they did with Breaking Benjamin which is called "Waiting On The Sky To Change". And finally I would just like to say that I'm so happy to see you guys checking out Starset again. I'm hoping the new album (which is currently unannounced but will almost certainly happen) will lean more into this heavier side of them. But regardless I really do enjoy listening to them.
Starset have heavy song and heavy moments in their songs without been a full heavy band, they are more like electronic rock/alternative metal I recommend: Disappear Last to Fall Everglow
Waiting on the sky to change, Manifest and My demons are the 3 songs you are looking for. I've seen quite a few people saying that this is the most metal they have sounded, but I would still give the edge to Manifest
I would recommend Everglow (not a heavy song, but a nice 20+ second scream), Disappear, and Waiting for the Sky to Change. I also recommend some of their songs that are remakes of Downplay productions. Downplay was the precursor to Srarset, and they were getting screwed by their label, the anger is real. The Downplay version of Carnivore is very different from the more sedate and concept Starset version. As far as I know, it was only played lived, under the title Everything I Am, it's raw.
I will say as well, they've always been really good with the pauses. Even in their transmissions album (first album) they had a few really well timed pauses and off beat stomps. Would LOVE to see this live though.
Happy belated Johnny! Also, rather than check out some of their old music which I’m sure y’all will get to at some point anyways, learn about Starset’s lore too. They’re entirely a concept artist. And they’ve been around forever, I remember listening to them early in high school on the radio and I’m in my mid-twenties now.
I mean my demons and monster came out in 2014 so yeah they’ve been around since 2014 and waiting in the sky to change was from the vocalist’s original band.
They played this song for the first time at Rockville and it sounded really good live. I say check out bringing it down version 2.0, frequency, devolution
I "fuck'n" (Nath 😉) love Starset, they have had a few heavier songs but they rarely swear so it took me off guard a bit too 😅 overall a banger as always!
3 songs from different albums: Perfect Machine (DIVISIONS); Earthrise (HORIZONS); Ricochet (Vessels). BUT If you have time for it too i heavily recommend "Everglow" also from the Vessels album, which feels like an ethereal trip into a black hole.
I know you guys have reacted to them before, but I think it's just that it's been quite awhile since they came out with anything new. But they have had heavies in their songs before, but it's not every song. My fave songs are Echo, Disappear, and Telekinetic.
I can see where Johnny gets the BMTH vibes, plus in general they have a very theatrical vibe about them. The songs id pick would be Ricochet, Leaving this world behind, and Perfect Machine (Has some very interesting use of effects in the second verse on Dustins vocals in context of the lyrics).
Great reaction as always but I'm kinda bummed that nowadays you're only reacting to new or super popular songs, cause I would have loved some videos to Starset's older stuff. Here the 3 songs you should check out: - My Demons - Ricochet - Telekinetic They're all pretty different. And just because I want to bump my favourite Starset song a little, here's a shameless recommendation to check this one out as well: - Into The Unknown
If you didn't know, before Starset, there was Downplay, and I'd say they were probably more "harder" than most of what they make for Starset. Definitely seeing a lot more of Downplay coming through I'd say these days.
You could pick a song at random and you'll love it, that's the cool thing about Starset. But if you want it narrowed down, go for Ricochet, Earthrise, Devolution, Perfect Machine, Icarus, Everglow, Monster, My Demons.... just to name a few for an authentic and genuine Starset sound.
Love you both. This is the first video I find myself disagreeing with BOTH of you. Johnny: This doesn't remind me of BMTH at all. Nath: I felt like the profanity worked perfectly in this track. This is an old reacts and I know you both have heard a lot more STARSET since this song. I think this one is still my favorite by far. Merry Christmas mates.
I can see a bit of BMTH, but this is their hardest song to date in my opinion. And he does SPECTACULAR live on this song. They *supposedly* have some more really heavy songs coming too, so be on the lookout!
Band is so good this is probably there heaviest stuff they have released but there are very unique nobody sounds like starset I don’t think starset has ever cussed in a song this one is really good. 1. My demons 2.the breach 3. Waiting on the sky to change ft Breaking Benjamin
Monster, ricochet, perfect machine, the breach, halo, and infected are a good mix of their music. I put their channel on at work (using Spotify or Apple Music) and I never turn a song. The best band!!! Also, the F bomb was disappointing to me for a number of reasons, one of which this is one of the bands that my kids like too. I always thought it was cool that they were so good and never swore. Hopefully it was a one off.
I have loved Starset, very unique sounds combined in the tracks they produce. I'm pretty sure they have never put swear words in their songs before and this feels like it was inserted just for the sake of having curse words in the song. I don't feel like it fits at all, I agree with Nath. I love the music of the track, but I am disappointed they went this way with the words.
i have yet to find a starset song i DONT like, they are all so damn good and it makes me mad people only know them for ''demons' like they are so much more than just that one song...
I'm so happy with this song. Not going to lie, I HATED their last album. I've been a fan of theirs since their first album released and nothing in their last album wow'd me, if anything it bored me. Most songs sounded the same, the choruses were just the name of the song repeated waaay to many times. Idk... But this song kicks all the ass. I'm so happy with it. Makes me wonder if their old record label pushed them to a direction they didn't want? As for recomendations I'd say Unbecoming, Ricochet and... anything from their Divisions album.
As much as I love this band, and this is probably my fav track of the year, got to agree with Nath. The "fucking" throws me every time. It's new for this band (not the vocalists other band) and it's out of place. But I'm in the minority on that.
For the heavy stuff I'd suggest Telekinetic, Bringing it Down, Frequency On the softer side I'd suggest Telescope, Earthrise Or if you want something truly unique, The Future is Now, Gravity of You
Telekinetic, Devolution, Waiting on the Sky to Change, My Demons, Trials, Monster, Ricochet, Manifest… there’s so many songs to check out! Can’t go wrong with Starset!
don’t forget down with the fallen! one of my favourite starset songs ever
@@patbateman8116 amen, that was the first song I heard from Starset so I love down with the fallen! Bringing it Down, It Has Begun, Other Worlds Than These… it’s literally pretty much every song.
Ricochet 🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
It has begun
The Breach
Icarus
Unbecoming
Satellite
Echo
Other worlds than These
I think all of Them are Great
Other Worlds Than These is also a great song. It is incredibly Starset
The "fucking" sound jarring because Starset isn't known for cussing in their songs, so for the uninitiated it's a bit of a shocker
They played this song live at the Chicago concert a few days ago, and my god it was AWESOME!
I was there too and in such a small venue was just incredible one of the best songs of the night
saw it at rockville omg the heat was awful but they made it worthhhhh
You know its a banger when, “theres no good place to pause.”
These guys are probably the best live band I’ve ever seen, and this song is a pure BANGER
They are very good live. Having the live violins and backing tracks and live keys adds so much to the soundscape of it. Everything they do is essentially a concept
Ricochet, Manifest, The Breach, and Telekinetic!!! That’s 4 for you lol. Ricochet in particular is by far one of my all time favorite songs by them.
STARSET is a very cinematic band. In all honesty, it feels as if each of their songs are telling an individual story. When I play action games, STARSET is my #1 pick on Spotify because it just feels, well, fuckin’ insane!
This song sounds just as amazing live. They played it at their demonstration in Atlanta Georgia which I attended.
I was there! Such an awesome experience. That was my 3rd time seeing them live and this was the best they’ve sounded.
I was there too! It was my first time seeing them live and they absolutely blew me away
@asre1503 This was my second time, saw them with Breaking Benjamin two years ago. That demonstration was awesome, but this one was even better. Looking forward to next spring. 🤘🤘
@electricpickl3 This was my daughter's very first concert. She was blown away too.
“Is that the brown note?” 😂😂
this band is underrated since they formed!!
Yaaaaaaay, Starset, my beloved! I especially love the heavier songs like Telekinetic, Devolution, Into The Unknown, the cover of Kashmir. Vessels is my favorite album of all time (any artist). Fun video. Here are the three songs I’d recommend:
1. My Demons, which is arguably their most popular song.
2. Telekinetic
3. Ricochet
Saw them perform this live after it came it. Unreal. Even better live than in the recording they nailed all the pauses and instrumental parts spot on
Funny you mention the swearing, its actually the first time Starset has sworn in a song (that I am aware of). Also, this is definitely the heaviest song from Starset. They have a few with heavy breakdowns, but its the first time they had a growl chorus.
Yup its Dustin's first swear in starset😂
5:10 me asking my dogs if they want to go for a walk
Devolution, Ricochet, and Perfect Machine! Starset is one of my favs
"It gives me BMTH vibes" is the easiest and best way to insult an entire band's fanbase with a genuine compliment 🤣
Oooopssss
BMTH isn’t extraterrestrial like starset is 👽
I’m going to preface this with Starset is 100% my favorite band but there are numerous (musical) similarities to BMTH. Listen to the song Gravity of You and tell me it doesn’t sound like BMTH
Finally ❤️ One of the best releases of the year
“Telekinetic” from them also leans heavier, especially with some long screams. I’d also suggest “waiting on the sky to change” (the one with Breaking Benjamin) and “point of no return”

I love the rambling, the music is honestly a bonus 😂
5:34 I felt the same as you Johnny, gave me a bit of that's the spirit album vibes in particular. loved the song and I do also love both bands
it's the only song they dropped the f bomb in too lol
I am so fucking happy to see Starset getting reactions T-T y'all need to listen to their older albums.

Happy birthday johnny!
I "fuck'n" (Nath 😉) love Starset, they have had a few heavier songs but they rarely swear so it took me off guard a bit too 😅 overall a banger as always!
They have never had explicit lyrics before this song.
Halo, Diving Bell and Bringing it Down
Thank you for reacting to this! You did not disappoint! My favs are Manifest, Carnivore and definitely songs with Breaking Benjamin
Telekinetic, Waiting on the sky to change, and My demons would be a great start to listen to them!
His previous band Downplay. You can find heavys there
Hey Johnny looking good man 💪
3 songs from different albums: Perfect Machine (DIVISIONS); Earthrise (HORIZONS); Ricochet (Vessels). BUT If you have time for it too i heavily recommend "Everglow" also from the Vessels album, which feels like an ethereal trip into a black hole.

Guys you have to check out Telekinetic for their heavier songs. One of my faves by them!!
I do agree with the BMTH comment on this one. It’s the production on guitars and drums I believe, but also the style of chorus. Great song though!
the whole Horizons Album is amazing
Satellite by STARSET is a banger
The first song you MUST check out us My Demons, and then I would say Richochet and Trials (this one has the woahohs).
Great reaction as always but I'm kinda bummed that nowadays you're only reacting to new or super popular songs, cause I would have loved some videos to Starset's older stuff.

❤
If you hadn’t paused it, then you would have seen how it feeds in on that “jarry” bit
Waiting on the sky to change, Telekinetic and Manifest
You heard it here first! Math doesn’t need the fucking…
go with Manifest, My Demons, and Ricochet for some variety and very cool videos
Literally what I was going to recommend!!
I can see a bit of BMTH, but this is their hardest song to date in my opinion. And he does SPECTACULAR live on this song. They *supposedly* have some more really heavy songs coming too, so be on the lookout!

That LCR channel hasn't uploaded since right after this video
Monster, My Demons, Degenerate, Frequency, Unbecoming, Manifest, Trials....all different sounds, but ones to check out!
Yeah I could see the song with a more drug out, "It's a Braaaaaavvvvvvvveeee Newwwwwwww World" without the fucking.
Symbiotic, tunnel vision, carnivore…….all of them
Ricochet, Manafest, My Demons
please listen to echo, trials and earthrise. theyre such good starset songs
Medicate me - Rain city drive. 🙏🏻

Ai music video clip ?
Starset always gives me Breaking Ben vibes. Not this song as much. Just discovered this song today and I am loving it

Disappear, Other Worlds Than These and Carnivore
If yall haven’t listened to this band then congratulations. You have hit the lottery on a binge band.
There not edgy like sleep token but enjoy the binge 😂
Can we get harry potter reactions on the channel?????
The entire movies? How much free time do you think we have? Haha
Starset has hell in a Die for you and no other swearing in songs ever, so yes it is out of place sadly, otherwise interesting direction they have🤔
Starset should lean into the heavy. Their lead singer has the right voice for a metalcore vibe.
I think they will because of the last song of last album
Man, Starset sound nothing like BMTH. Infinitely better.
For the heavy stuff I'd suggest Telekinetic, Bringing it Down, Frequency
On the softer side I'd suggest Telescope, Earthrise
Or if you want something truly unique, The Future is Now, Gravity of You
