Frohe Weihnachten and Merry Christmas from our home in Germany! Decorate with me and see many thrifted finds as we set for the holidays. Bringing the tree and ornaments down from the attic. Our historic home is in my husband's village of Saarwellingen, Germany. It's that time of year to create a welcoming and festive setting for family and friends. Many items are thrifted, including Fitz & Floyd serveware, vintage compotes, and dishes. There might be some Waterford on display. Some items were sourced from Texas resale and consignment shops. Local charity thrift stores have many hidden gems. Villeroy & Boch Toy's Delight dishes add a whimsical touch to the vintage cut to clear glassware. I'm not sure if you've noticed a new subscriber who's been binge watching your videos, but it's me! Merry Christmas. I'm of German heritage as well. I'm 63 years old and my great grandparents came from the Bober River area which is now in Poland.They're last name was Von Bober. I've really learned a lot from your videos and I appreciate your knowledge and information. You're the only channel who explains things in detail with history, years and background of an item, company or artist. I recently found a pair vintage press glass 20" lamps that I paid $15.00 for the two and 1 lampshade, and I found on Etsy the exact pair sold for $340.00 without shades. I'm keeping them for my bedroom in my new home which is almost complete.

You would love the Titi International consignment store in St. Ingbert, Germany. Showcased this shop over the summer. Stay tuned for another feature in January. Lots of vintage cake stands for under $10 each. They also have cuckoo clocks. Will try and focus on these with a future visit.
Frohes Weihnachten! I'm a first generation Canadian from German parents. Some of those items remind me of my childhood as we celebrated a very traditional German Christmas. I had to chuckle when you mentioned the tree going up on Christmas Eve morning and the advent wreath. The Livingroom door in my childhood home also had a lock. By the time my brother and I got up Christmas Eve morning, that door was shut and locked. We never saw any gifts until the door was unlocked after having supper, and then coming home from our candlelight Christmas Eve service. The look of wonder on our little faces once that door was open and we saw the tree and the gifts are precious memories that I have many photographs of. Safe travels throughout the holidays for you.

Villeroy & Boch has the musical tea light trees available. The factory store in Mettlach is worth a visit, especially with the good prices.

I love listening to you, explaining every item. I live in Malta and we do not have trifting shops, but we do get very small charity shops. I bought a crystal jug for 25 euro thanks to you because you gave me the confidence to investigate. I also picked up a couple of sterlig silver teaspoons which i got for free because I spent a bit more on three toureens cream colour but with out the lids . I thought they will be perfect for an amaryllis. Thanks ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I am living in Germany right now, outside of Stuttgart for the next 2 years at least. Mein Mann wants to extend to 5 years. I adore Germany and we are having a good time here. Christmas is lovely here. We are traveling to Strasbourg tomorrow to get away and to visit their Christmas market. Your videos are sehr gut!

Soufflenheim pottery is from the Alsace region of France, formerly part of the German Empire.

What do people do in Germany with the stuff they don’t want?
you can donate it to little charityshops, for clothing there are containers . but normally we store it at home 😂 in the basement or under the roof. we don‘t change things very often. i would love to have more thrifting shops here.
Some call on an Entrümpelung or Haushaltsauflösung company to liquidate/purchase an estate. It’s not common to have estate sales open to the public. Charity resale and consignment stores are few and far between, but awesome to shop. Have featured on the channel.
