That's not true. The 1950s was the beginning of mass production in the animal farm industries with lots of "science" coming out. Animals began being genetically modified to grow fast in a shorter period of time. It was all about money and profit and still is. There's lots of literature and research you can find about this.
When I was little in the ‘60’s Mum used to make us an ‘egg flip’ for breakfast. Milk, raw egg, orange juice, and a dash of vanilla essence. It sounds awful, but it was really yummy.

Milk isn't bad for you unless you're lactose intolerant. Drink full fat, as it satiates; saturated fat isn't an issue unless you''re eating a high sugar diet alongside it. Marilyn ate a very nutritious high protein/low simple carbs diet with really good stuff like liver and full fat milk and very little sugar except for her occasional sundaes, which you can see from the photo were about 1/4 of the size of what is served nowadays. Maybe one scoop of ice-cream. Lots of simple unprocesssed foods like eggs, milk, meat and carrots, in small portions. Nothing super-complex, no 27 ingredient messes out of a box. No horrible gloopy 800 calorie dessert drinks masquerading as coffee. It makes a huge difference in terms of nutrients and calories to just eat simply and well.
Human beings aren't supposed to be drinking milk of another species. No other animal does this. Especially past the age of weaning. Everyone is lactose intolerant - it's biological. Very few people can actually tolerate it and that was due to centuries of their bodies trying to cope with it. Cows aren't here for people to take their milk. Cow milk is meant to grow a calf very fast, and that's why cow milk is 50% fat. Human milk is 80% water. Why not take dog's milk, cat's milk, or monkey's milk, or even human milk as a full grown adult? Sounds gross right? It's learned behavior to just accept taking it from a cow as "normal." But if anyone still craves milk, there are tons of plant-based options now.

@Jacklyn Narian, “lactase persistence” through adulthood is common among some people groups - such as the Irish. Not everyone has this gene mutation, but northwestern Europeans mainly do have the ability to digest lactose into adulthood.

I actually read somewhere once that eating dairy can help you lose weight. I think the "no dairy" trend was really popular recently because veganism was sort of becoming mainstream and there was a lot more discussions on people who have lactose intolerences.
I think it depends on the person. I'm not vegan at all but eating dairy everyday helped me gain weight when I was trying to lose it. But again, everybody is different. And "trends" on food doesn't sound healthy at all, each person should eat what the body needs
Yeah, i think lactose sensitivity and intolerance paved to alternatives like vegan "milk". I am sensitive myself so i seldom consume dairy nowadays. The factors that dairy product ingredients have changed over the years may also hinder those who would want to imitate the milk/dairy and egg recipe from Monroe's diet.

I’m confused, because the 2001 book that listed her meal plan showed a ton of carbs: pasta, potatoes, and crackers. That must have been made up completely if Marilyn herself said she was a high protein, low carb girl. Basically Ketogenic?
She could have had raw milk instead of pasteurized. At that time it was still very widespread and accessible with almost everyone having at least a portion of their dairy products raw. I used to break out when I ate pasteurized dairy, but switching to raw, my skin never has a pimple anymore.
I think she drank a lot of milk because back at that time it was a thing for very impoverished persons to drink glasses of milk in times of like scarcity or starvation (sometimes with animal blood in it...ew) or a glass with scarce meals with few nutrient variance because idk if it's true or not but it was thought the "heaviness" of the milk would keep you from hunger and also that it contained many nutrients that weren't provided in the diet....kind of like taking a vitamin. And you have to remember unpasteurized milk or very low pasteurized milk is different from what we are drinking today. So long story short I believe it's a habit that stuck with her from poverty and also maybe thoughts of like meal replacement / vitamin intake and healthy fat intake. That's just my thoughts though....I'm nobody so 😅☕
Until quite recently in America, it was the norm for everybody to drink a glass of milk with dinner. Americans, and not just the poor ones, used to drink a lot of milk before the low fat, low cholesterol fad of the 80s and 90s
Impress A glass of milk with the blood of a healthy animal is definitely one of the best things you could eat, so nutrient dense. It's our natural diet.
Milk was considered also essential for a beautiful milky buttery skin and youth. Still there are celebs drinking it for this reasons :Julia Roberts (the period she filmed "notting Hill" was said to drunk liters of milk), Hadid family drink goats milk, Ilona Staller, famous hard actress was famous also for drinking a lot of goats milk for staying young, most of Indian and Pakistani celebs (in Indian continent milk is believed to be the best food, along with butter ghee and curd).
Ok so a couple of things. First I love these videos. Second when I was a little girl I had a beautiful doll just like the one in your background except mine had a green dress. The only doll I ever liked. I would not try the raw egg and milk diet because I don’t want salmonella. I have tried the cleansing diet with maple, cayenne and lemon water. It is a bit painful but it works. 😉 she didn’t eat much but she drank a lot and that is high in calories- she knew that. I love watching your videos on her because you make me feel like I am there with her. It’s cool! So thank you.
Thank you sooo much. I guess I wasn’t the only one to suggest this. It was lovely to see this. I know you may not have seen this, but I first saw an article like this in a Playboy from the 1980’s. If you find it she is clothed in the article and she looks so lovely. I especially remember a picture of her with a blue hue to it and she seemed to be sitting on a weight bench. When I was young, I tried to get my hair like hers for many years. Thank you again.
As usual, so nicely done ! You do such a Great job on all aspects of your videos !! Such a Treat to watch !!! I learned quite a bit about Marilyn, from you : ) Thank-you !
Actually it depends on the milk that you're having. I grew up drinking the milk my dad used to buy from a local farm and my skin and bones were great. The industrial milk is not milk, it looks like wall paint.
I am with her on raw eggs but i gulp them whole, I heard we get more of the nutrients taken whole than by stirring them. I don't put in milk or smoothies. They aren't so hard to get down. I look for high quality pastured eggs.
If anyone is interested you can find very detailed multiple daily meal plans of Marilyn Monroe which include snacks online. If you Google image Marilyn Monroe‘s diet, you will see scans of some documents that were found of a diet plan that she often used to remain in her shape.

@Impress...I agree with you, those are very good points you made.
I agree ....I think it stems from an empoverished childhood to eat for sustainability not for cravings or preference
Lovely and very informative video. Thank you
Ok so a couple of things.
Add a hit of Apple Cider Vinegar in the lemon water
I might try marilyn’s breakfast. The idea of raw eggs is weird though! Her choices were very interesting! Great video thanks! 😊
Your vids are so unique & well done👏
You never ate hot fudge sundae before? Wow generation gap! I was born in the 1960s. They were still around in the 80s.
They still exist. I see the jars of hot fudge sauce in stores.
My mom was born in the 80s and she used to tell me and my siblings a bunch of stories about her eating a lot of hot fudge sundaes.
@@adoree_faye3722 wow that makes me feel old… I was born in 1989 and to see someone say their mom was born then is so weird.
@@mastersnet18 oh I'm sorry if I offended you
Thank you sooo much.
You're so pretty! I love the way you style yourself!
I love Marilyn Monroe she’s my favorite actress ❤️
As usual, so nicely done ! You do such a Great job on all aspects of your videos !! Such a Treat to watch !!! I learned quite a bit about Marilyn, from you : )
Thank-you !
Thanks a lot for this amazing content 💖
Love your manicure, and thank you for the work you put into these videos.
Actually it depends on the milk that you're having. I grew up drinking the milk my dad used to buy from a local farm and my skin and bones were great. The industrial milk is not milk, it looks like wall paint.
I wonder if she drank raw milk. My skin is horrible if I drink milk from the grocery store but it is clear when I drink raw milk.
raw milk is much better than bottled milk which is prcessed and has god knows how many chemicals in it!
I don't think raw milk was common even back then..definately better milk tho
Love your videos, thanks for making them!!! Big hug from Brazil😘😘😘
I love your channel. Everything about it.
I am with her on raw eggs but i gulp them whole, I heard we get more of the nutrients taken whole than by stirring them. I don't put in milk or smoothies. They aren't so hard to get down. I look for high quality pastured eggs.
Ty this was such and interesting tutorial. Ty for the share.
Love Marilyn! Thank you for uploading this vid 💖💖💖
That was so fun.Thank you
Exactly what i needed thank u
Congratulations this is so wonderful.
If anyone is interested you can find very detailed multiple daily meal plans of Marilyn Monroe which include snacks online. If you Google image Marilyn Monroe‘s diet, you will see scans of some documents that were found of a diet plan that she often used to remain in her shape.
Marilyn was born with nice skin. The food she ate complemented it.
Your nails in this video!! 😍😍
So, the egg and milk was sort of a high protien shake.
Loved this video! ❤️ Will you be trying out the new Lucille Ball collection that Besame cosmetics is coming out with this week?
I remember reading about 1950s starlet's routines and thinking how bizarre some things sounded. But hey, it worked for Marilyn. :) I loved the bust routine. Lol
I love your channel!!!!!!
I don't think the eggs were consumed raw since she said she would heat up the milk and then added the eggs.
Enjoyed your video. I am going to try her diet. Thanks.
LOVE this
Thank you
Do remember the food quality was so much better back then that you cannot even think you can get near the quality of her ice cream sundae at a Dairy Queen now.
The music is soo calming
I love the music you used in this video 💕 what is the name of the instrumental song used?
Wow I didn’t even know that the Master Cleanse even existed back then. She was ahead of the diet game for sure
A different cleaner time. Back then.
Thank you. Love your channel.
Thank you for sharing! Where did you read she did the master cleanse? Very curious! 💖💖💖💖
As a vegan I could never do her diet but I do like the master cleanse drink. And I love that iconic photo of her doing chest presses with the weights.
Jane. I have an idea. I remember coral and pink lip sticks from back in the erly sixities .... perhps you might reproduce those? i always thought those magical and underrated
I have a feeling Marilyn was too busy to eat all that every day.
Thank you soo much
Not you Miss Laura, the comment was meant for the lady who said you need to get a life.
Oh sorry I was confused
