Thanks for showing the chain welding. Glad to know that is available if I ever decide to lengthen our chain. I also love the well placed pool noodle…..lol
Thanks for subscribing Terry, much appreciated. Cockles went down a treat 😋 safe travels to you both too. Be fantastic to meet up further along the road, somewhere warm.
Great video... I love the intro too. 🙂 ps: I recommend adding 3 links of chain between your anchor and the swivel. That eliminates the side loading on the swivel jaws when the anchor needs to reset (change of current or wind)
Thanks for the tip, we're working on it. The only problem we have is finding a shackle small enough to go through our bow roller and big enough to fit the anchor. We will keep locking.
Thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed it. We used a 3 strand nylon rope. Would really recommend it to be honest. When we replace we will go for 8 strand, the 3 strand separates too easily. Also we chose nylon for its stretchability which we thought a good property for an anchor rode. Hope this helps.
Thanks for sharing guys! I have a Longbow too (over in Gilinghm - you might remember me saying) anyway, will you be doing a vid on the fitting of your liferaft cradle? Interested to know how and where you are going to fit it. Cheers
Hi we do indeed remember you 🙂 thanks for the comment. Yes we will be fitting our life raft cradle, next on the list. The video will be uploaded as soon as we have it. Please push your 'notification' button 🔔 so you don't miss it. We've looked at a couple of places to fit the cradle but final decision will be made next week. Thanks. What size is yours?
@@gooddeedssailing great! I'm thinking of installing mine by integrating it into the stern rail with some addition SS fittings. Not sure yet. I did think about putting it on the companion way hatch slider cover but I have some additional solar on there at the moment. decisions decisions....
Thanks for the encouraging comment. Pretty sure the chain went through the roller but thanks will check tomorrow when back on the boat. Thanks again Martin and thanks for your support.🙂
Maybe the newer Beta engines have larger pulleys, the through hull for water inlet did seem a bit excessive for this size engine. Let's get your keels sorted. How much gap do you have between keels and Hull at the ends? Any photos? This may not be hard to fix. Just have to go about it in different ways depending on the gap.
Im love
Thank you! 😁😘
"Our Lizzie" is a lovely looking boat :)
She is indeed, with a lot of history also.

Our pleasure! We extended our chain with 10 metres of 8mm as we didn't want too much weight in the bow of the boat.
Terry the fish send his best wishes and can't wait to see you both travelling and hope we meet up somewhere nice in the world one day keep safe

Very interesting, always interesting to see the other side of boating. 🤓
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it 😊
just catching up on your episodes :)
Thanks for watching 😀
hi kara it is max from karate. the intro was 🤌
@maxthememe178 hi Max, thanks so much for watching our video! Hope you will enjoy the next episodes too! Yes, I love the intro too! 😄
You should tie the anchor rope to a small rope so in a ememgance it can cut quickly
Cheers Barry, we see if we can set something up when we get to the Med. Will try to include it in one of our future episodes 👍
Great video, wow the tide really goes out there. I would like to know what rope you used for the anchor chain? TIA

Yes we had a similar dilemma.
Do you not put the anchor chain over the roller? Or did I not see properly? Thanks for your videos.
