Tractor Tales: 1949 Allis Chalmers B

This tractor was in production for nearly 20 years. From 1938 until 1957, almost 121,000 of these small farm machines drove off the assembly line.

I might know this tractor. My uncle brought on one exactly like this shortly after WW2 for my grandfather's farm in Parisville, MI (Michigan thumb area). Whether it is or isn't really doesn't matter, but THANKS for the memories. To this day, when I picture a tractor, it's Persian orange, adjustable front axle a pair of bug-eyed headlights and a bench seat. You back 50 years ago when I last saw it.

Early orange ACs were Persian orange #1. When the D series tractors started coming out with cream wheels and grill, (series II) they were Persian orange #2, even later came corporate orange, which to me looked like it had a brownish tint to it>

My grandpa had a C Allis with a seat like on this B . Looked comfortable but they didn't have much give. My dad hoed with it. Pretty rough.
