Just started trying late in life. Found a great tandem fly (Salty Special) from AJ';s Bait and Tackle in NH. The fly has small red beads along the wire and has been a killer here in VT. our video was very helpful to help me understand the construction. Tks.

👍 Thanks, you're right about not much instruction on this. Some fly shops here in NYS have print outs on tying tandems for trolling on our Finger Lakes. Sharon Wright's book has some instruction as well as articles in Fly Tyer. A lot of it is regional and personal preference too. Thanks for this, too bad you didn't show some of your patterns or better yet a tutorial on tying one, I'd really like to see them.

Ktriangleq, I should have probably mentioned specifically that the rear hook can be tied in up because a lot of people prefer that as well as double & treble hooks. I've heard pro's and cons for all of them. I also failed to mention that 30 or 40lb mono line can also be used instead of the wire to due away with the kinking that can occur from catching fish. Thanks for watching and commenting.
