Years ago at age 7 I worked really hard to carefully string a long garland of popcorn for our X-mas tree while sitting in a kitchen chair. At last I proudly held up my hard earned handiwork only to find I had a mere two feet of strung corn and my very happy sweet dog Tiki, laying silently at my feet who had been gently nibbling all the rest of the corn as I pushed them down!
Would love to but alas I can't get my usual popping corn at the store, Australia is having a massive Fall Armyworm outbreak impacting all the corn crops here so there is a major shortage at the moment 😔

Girl, when your in the woods, just sharing a video like this is so enjoyable. Simple things like tromping around in the snow with Moose, building a fire and cooking popcorn on a fire. Keeping a tradition alive with the garland. I’m sure the birds are gonna be super happy with that! The best thing I got out of it is just take a pause from the stresses of life and take a minute for yourself. Doing things that you love. You are always inspirational to me. ❤
Thanks go to you, your videos are so genuine. You definitely have the authenticity to back it up. It’s so refreshing. Just keep being you, that’s what we love!
Watching that snarl of string as you started the garland made me smile so hard. That is 100% life. 🤣😂🤣 I just loved this video. And the popcorn and how little pigeon boy is afraid of fire. This is just good stuff. I’m down in Florida at the moment but wishing I was back home knee deep in snow! ❤Michigan Girl.
I started making popcorn with butter when i was a kid, I love it the best when the butter burns, but not the popcorn, if you manage to have leftovers, it's better the next day! 💚
Popcorn on a campfire in the snow. How cool is that! And with the Adorable Moose. I'm glad Da Wolf is doing good. Happy holidays to you and your family Brooke!
I was thinking, "Don't drink yet, the Yeti keeps it boiling hot for a very long time." I love my coffee, and tried the Yeti and I burnt my tongue. Took a long time to taste anything properly. Give me a regular mug for my coffee. lol
Enjoyed your simple time with us, of making a small fire, pine needle tea, popcorn popping (clanging) in a wrought-iron pot! Most of all, stringing popcorn and cranberries for the birds and wildlife. Aww! Just love it! Cute little pigeon nibbling on the kernels! Sniffing the soil! Relaxing, refreshing time in the woods! You go girl! ❤
Thank you so much for showing me that getting out there doesn't have to be a huge production. Just head out, make a little fire, have some tea, maybe a project and that's enough...in fact it's so much!
To string popcorn you should make it a day ahead and spread it out to dry and get stale and it gets tougher which prevents it from breaking up as you sew it. You can still feed it to the birds after it comes off the tree later.
My Husband had a debilitating illness so we can't really get out to easily right now. so we get to experience the woods and fire thankfully through your videos. great video. we feel like we are right there enjoying it all with you and the moose, keep them coming :)
I was sitting here listening to you when you said "Popcorn". I stopped the feed and went in and made popcorn. Then I came back and tried to get my pet Hen to eat some while I watched you. Turns out she doesn't like popcorn, so I ate my portion and hers. It's been over a year since the last time I had some. Thank you for your episodes, I always find something to enjoy about them.
Yes Brooke, sometimes we all need to take a step away from the madness. You can't pour out when you haven't filled back up. Been doing the prayer warrior thing and trusting in Jesus. I look so forward to the day, no matter how long or short it may be, to meeting you in heaven, be it the second coming or our work being done on earth and the Lord calling us home individually. We can check out any planet we see in whatever galexy and just by wanting to take a look at it, be there to hang out on it checking out the sights. No need for a spaceship, for we will be free. We'll get outside and be happy forever. God bless you sweet sister in Christ Jesus our Lord. You and yours are loved.
Popcorn and Pine tea nice way to warm up , we use to save our Christmas tree for the birds we’d string up dry apples with peanut butter and bird seed birds loved it we put the tree outside against the house birds used it
I made popcorn with a coal stove. I took the iron disk off and lowered the pot into the coal fire and POOF .. one large pot full of popcorn. It was immediate! No old maids and no burnt corn.
Made countless strings of cranberries and popcorn. Always been a tradition in my family. Always grateful to be able to watch the birds enjoy it. 🐾🙏🏻✌🏻 Happy Holidays to you and the family.
I love the way dogs play in the snow and poke their nose in it to sniff things out. My golden retriever used to love playing in the snow. He would come in with frozen ice clumps on his paws. But we now live in Florida so no more of that. 🎉
Thank you, thank you, thank you, my mom passed just before thanksgiving. I’ve been following you for just a bit, today this video was just what I needed. To be reminded of the beautiful things, the simple things, the magical things of life. Gods beautiful creation. ❤
I really enjoyed your simple time with us. I am going to finally build my cooking/firepit next Spring after the area dries up some. I have all the rocks there. Just haven't settled on a design just yet. I am thinking keyhole with a nice Boulder for the back of it where all the cooking will be done.
ALWAYS butter. Just got the lid back on the popcorn in time, haha. Yup, beware of the Yetis, that’s why they’re so expensive! They certainly hold their temperature, lol. Glad ya got to enjoy some time away, thanks and God Bless my sista from anotha mista.

My parents used to have an old, wire basket popcorn popper with a long handle that we used for campfire popcorn. With 7 kids we made many batches! I miss the snow and the quiet winter woods... your birds are gonna loooove that snackline! Must say im still cracking up from Moosie's poking face plants and fly away ears. Keep up the great videos, im getting my winter fixes from you! 🥰
I've done popcorn on a campfire before with a Coleman popcorn popper that has a sliding lid and a long handle on it to make shaking easier. Makes great popcorn and adding kettle corn seasoning makes it yummy!
I am amazed you have never popped corn over a fire and I'm amazed I never thought to use butter instead of oil (which I would prefer not to)! I love that pot, so much easier to shake. Moose knows his limits, too... puppy to dog, nope, no can do, not going near that campfire! I never thought to leave popcorn and cranberries out for birds when we got snow in MD. I'll have to remember this next winter in Alaska... found a cabin to rent for the year, nice believing family!
You have to let air inside the pot to keep the air flow. Lift the lid off and on. Your popcorn will pop faster and come out light and fluffy :) You just found that out on your own by trial and error xD GOOD JOB BROOKE
